Line eyes?

I'm on a treatment plan for recurrent miscarriage and if I'm pregnant today I'm supposed to increase the amount of progesterone I take. I've never taken a test early before, only minimum two days late. I feel I can see a shadow of a second line hut I don't know if that is wishful thinking? Any thoughts anyone?

I definitely see a faint something Smile🤞🏻

Chica1990 · 23/02/2021 08:23

I think I can see it too!

Sexnotgender · 23/02/2021 08:23

I can see it. Fingers crossed for you Flowers

Needanewnamenow · 23/02/2021 08:25

Thank you everyone. I'm really not sure what to do now, I really don't want to increase the progesterone if it's not a line :(

I can see it

Needanewnamenow · 23/02/2021 13:36

Thanks everyone, I'm going to stick with the dosage today and test again in the morning. If there's no line progression I'll assume it's not positive/ maybe a chemical. It's very faint for 13dpo :(

I can see something. Good luck. X

Needanewnamenow · 24/02/2021 08:16

Just to update, I've done another test this morning and I think I can see a shadow of something again, but it's no darker. Today is technically when my period is due so I'm going to assume it's maybe a chemical or an indent and stop taking the progesterone. Onwards and upwards.

My tests didn’t darken for a few days. The hormone doubles every 48 hours.

Needanewnamenow · 24/02/2021 08:33

That's a good point @sexnotgender. I think my expectations are so low I'm struggling to know what to do for best

What's the harm in continuing to take it until you know definitely?

Needanewnamenow · 24/02/2021 08:53

Well I guess it would delay my period and if I'm not pregnant I would want to get on with the next cycle. I'm very used to getting on with the next cycle... I get your point though, I know in theory a line is a line but this is barely a line!

@Needanewnamenow could you show us a picture of today's test? We might see it darker than you Smile

Needanewnamenow · 24/02/2021 09:37

@2021WillBeMyBitch here you go, but I didn't take it in a very good light I'm afraid so you really can't see anything, its not as good a picture as yesterday

These were my 2 tests taken a day apart at 13/14 dpo. Very little difference between the 2. I’m now 33 weeks pregnant.

I had to take progesterone from ovulation and it doesn’t delay your period. I got my period on time in the months I wasn’t pregnant. These tests are also not the most sensitive ones so I would think it’s likely that you are pregnant. I would increase the progesterone now, it won’t harm you.

Needanewnamenow · 24/02/2021 09:43

congratulations @sexnotgender it is reassuring to see faint lines at 13/14dpo, but I think mine are fainter though. I guess either way I'm going to have to test again tomorrow

OP posts:
AdriannaP · 24/02/2021 09:44

Also you might think you are 13 DPO but could have conceived later in the cycle. I was told this at my first scan so I was dated 5 days earlier than I thought.

starfishy · 24/02/2021 09:45

I can see the line. It's faint but it's there.

AdriannaP · 24/02/2021 09:46

This was mine at 13DPO, I am now 9 weeks pregnant (after 3 miscarriages).

Needanewnamenow · 24/02/2021 09:46

@adriannap thank you for that. I'm sure I was told you needed to stop the progesterone as the drop in that is a trigger for your period. I will see what happens today then. maybe test again tomorrow

Needanewnamenow · 24/02/2021 09:48

sorry @adriannap meant to also say thanks for the advice, will increase the progesterone, if my period will come anyway, what harm will it do. thank you

@Needanewnamenow fingers crossed for you!! It’s a tough journey and hope this is your 🌈 baby!

I always got my period despite progesterone (was taking a 400mg twice a day), but interesting that you were advised something different. Do you also take aspirin?

Needanewnamenow · 24/02/2021 10:03

@adriannap no I have been advised against aspirin (by three doctors). It's cyclogest 200mg twice a day up til bfp and 400mg twice a day after bfp. in my third miscarriage I took aspirin and 400mg once a day after bfp (made no difference of course) but i think that pregnancy never really 'took. this is a treatment plan from Prof Brosens at the Coventry Implantation Clinic, he recommends against aspirin before 7 weeks (but I was also told this by two gynaecologists from the local infertility clinic). All my tests have come back with perfect results, so I am also not keen to take the aspirin anyway. It is also entirely possible I misunderstood what I was told, it might have just been stop taking the progesterone and your period will start (because you're not pregnant, not because of the progesterone)

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 24/02/2021 10:35

I'm also having treatment for recurrent miscarriage. I saw Prof Brosens first and my tests were normal, so he prescribed 200mgx2 then 400mgx2 on bfp. I was told to stop it at 14dpo if negative. I did conceive on that and got a strong positive at 12dpo. But I went onto miscarry.

I'm now with a different specialist and taking 800mg from ovulation. On my first cycle I had a couple of tests like yours and I think they're negative, I'm sorry. I could see a line on mine, but not enough to convince me that they'd develop (especially as I've been pregnant 4 times previously). My specialist tells you to test at 10dpo and stop the progesterone then. I usually do it at 11/12dpo. Personally I'd stop the progesterone.

Best wishes, ttc after recurrent losses is soul destroying ❤️ xx
