As the Post Pill Party Mosh Pit dies down... sweaty and bewildered, the ladies head to the bar to freshen up. Suddenly, a fiddler bursts onto the stage, beginning a merry tune. Everybody swings into an energetic Ceilidh!

Our heads are spinning, our bodies are knackered but we arent giving up dancing when the music is this catchy!

This is the 8th post pill party thread for women whose bodies don't know the correct dance steps after hormonal contraception. Raise a dram to combating delayed ovulation, flabberghasting follicular phases, loopy luteal phases, bizzare temp charts and OPKs whiter than a Scotsman's bum!

@Melissaq94 Welcome! I also came off the pill in November and have been having long cycles. I def recommend temping as it gives you a much clearer picture of what's going on.

@Cams50 ❤ Thank you. I've had a little bit more but it seems to have stopped again. I feel like its worse after exercise and I went out for a couple of hours walk earlier. I'm planning on sitting with my feet up for the rest of the evening so hopefully I wont have any more!

@Tillybabs Good that most things came back normal. Hopefully the prolactin result was a blip like you say 🤞

@Melissaq94 I've been off the pill since last May and still only have a rough idea of what might happen. Definitely recommend charting your bbt if you can be bothered. It helped reassure me that I do ovulate and could help you in the future to estimate your fertile periods/when to start using opks etc.

@MissC07 @Kay00 @Juno231 @FlyingGiraffe I’ll test first thing with a FRER I just used a FRER rip off from savers I had lying around, it was just the first one I picked up. I don’t wanna get my hopes up because I’ve had indents before but this definitely looked pink and it came up straight away. I’ve got sooo much CM aswell it’s like a creamy almost EW, need to put it to the back of my mind tomorrow! Knowing my luck it will be a stark white BFN in the morning 😂

For some strange reason I decided to POAS I hadnt even been holding very long so I don’t know why i did it, but there is a squinter there and its 100% a pink squinter...I can’t even pick it up on the camera! Not getting my hopes up because I’ve had these faint lines before and its been nothing! Arghhhhh why do I do it 🤣

Can anyone guide me through using ovulation kits.. I've no idea and can't find a detailed enough explanation online haha

You'll need to pee into a cup and dip the stick using 2nd morning urine (about 11am for me) from about CD10. Once you see the lines getting darker you can pee on several sticks a day until you get your peak (the test line will be as dark as or darker than the control line). You should hopefully ovulate 24-48 hours later.

@melissaq94 for thermometers you'll need to buy a basel body thermometer that measures your temp to the 2nd degree (36.78 for example, not just 36.8). Like this one:

You'll need to take your temperature at the same time every day (about 6am for me). You need to take it as soon as you wake up: no moving around, talking or drinking. Just shove it under your tongue and rest until it's done. We usually recommend recording the temps in Fertility Friend app. Good luck!

The issue I have though I work shifts so one week I'm on 6am - 2pm then the next 2pm - 10pm and when I'm on lates I'm definitely not awake the same time i would be on early's haha so does it matter that each week it will be a different time? But it'll definitely be as soon as I wake up x

I have been feeling rubbish this afternoon so I haven't managed to do anymore OPKs today (peeing too frequently lol) but I did manage to convince OH to give me a sympathy shag 😂🙈 we used pre-seed too so if I do ovulate then I feel like I'm covered. Come on body 🤞🤞🤞

@Tillybabs I also have high prolactin. Mine was over 1500. After a referral, follow up tests and and an MRI they have decided it was probably just stress (probably as I was running late for the blood test!) as I am still ovulating it doesn't seem to be affecting me. I think if you don't have any other symptoms I wouldn't worry. They said if it was really something to worry about you would have obvious symptoms but they just needed to rule out anything else and would have been very surprised if something did come up!

@Melissaq94 welcome! It has taken a few of us to settle after the pill, and a few of us who still haven't settled so you have company here! There can be a lot to get your head around with temps and opks but lots of lovely experts here who can help

My hopeful feeling about this cycle is diminishing... Temps aren't really playing ball after initial post-O rise 🤔 and RHR is pretty flat too! 🙄😩

@laurat94 I'd be pretty happy with those post Ov temps ☺ hang in there! At only 4dpo you could have implantation in the next few days which might bump temps in a northern direction 🤞🤞🤞

Hi guys, MN won’t let me upload a photo but its still a squinter 🙄 I think I’ve just got a dodgy set of tests with horrible indents! My temp went up but my RHR went down so I guess I’m just going to have to wait it out

@Kay00 maybe I'm just being fussy 😂 Tbh I looked back at my chart from the month I conceived and my temps were lower than this cycle just after ovulation! So I need to stop obsessing I think and just see how my temps go. I'm feeling boiling hot at night so I can definitely tell my internal temp is up just from that! OH enjoyed snuggling into me last night haha, was like a hot water bottle!

@ChinChilly I can just about see a vvvfl there! I can't see if it has any pink but it's definitely there. Are you 12dpo? (Trying to work out if I counted the dots right 😂). FWIW with RHR mine tapered off after 12dpo when I was pregnant! Jumped back up later on (though I stopped logging it on FF.)

I like premom. It tells my BBT spikes for 2 cycles.

@LauraT94 FF thinks I’m 12dpo and premom thinks I’m 11dpo... I think its and indent to be honest, I’m sure it would be showing a clear line by now if I was pregnant especially using FMU but I did get up at 3am and stumble to the toilet but still 3am-7.30am would of been long enough.

How come I ended up with all the tests with bad indents, this happens everytime i test recently 😂😂

@ChinChilly I'm sorry you think it's an indent 😢 tbh at 12dpo I think I'd be inclined to agree that there should be a more obvious line - however you could have just had a late implantation and that might have skewed your temps a bit? I think HCG is meant to rise slower if you implant layer too. Sorry it's not more clear either way! The limbo is horrible. Xx

@LauraT94 I actually think the test from yesterday had a more of a pink colour. I’m taking it as a negative, my RHR has dipped 2 days in a row now so I’m guessing AF is getting ready for her uninvited appearance and my temp will fall through the floor over the next two days.

I’m ok either way to be honest (ask me again when AF arrives 🤣) I think it’s highly unlikely I’ll conceive until my thyroid levels are lower.

Must stop testing early, these indents are criminal 🙄
