@NewMumHopeful welcome!
I am 4dpo of cycle 11. Going into cycle 12 soon if no positive. I came off the pill about 2 years ago. It was progesterone only pill that I had taken for about 1 year ish but before that was the combined pill for about 10 years before. I'm 32, as is my husband, we have the same birth dates! I found the first 4 cycles of actively trying fine but then broke down as I too thought and was told it would happen so easily. Cycle 6 was another big meltdown as I felt like I was trying really hard. There's not much I haven't tried. My last 2 cycles before this one were completely knocked due to covid vaccine. I used to have a 28-31 day cycle with luteal phase before roughly 11 days (days after ovulation). Me and my partner work shifts - what are your patterns? We are both police and work different patterns so we only really have 3 or 4 days off together a month. That and shifts make ttc more difficult.
I take pregnacare vit tabs alone with soy isoflavones and extra vit D, coq10, evening primrose oil (although may change to star flower oil) and L cart something. I also have inositol every now and again. I have changed my diet more and more as time goes on. I never used to eat salmon and now it's about 2 or 3 times a week. I have tried seed cycling and don't find any difference but I continue to have chia seeds, flax seeds and lots of nuts like walnuts and almonds (generally not sweet or salted types). I have found that although it is better for me and I ebjo the healthy eating it makes no real difference to my cycle although I guess its just better and better egg quality! Much like the vitamins.
I've used conceive plus but found it too sticky and dried quick but really like the preseed. Again been using that for about 6 cycles now and not a hint of a positive.
I used ferti-lily which is like a moon cup but for sperm haha. I quite like it but this is month 2 of using it and still no luck so far.
I've tried the fads such as the cough syrup with no real luck. Tried sex every 2nd day (not easy with shifts!!) tried sex every day during fertile window (fw) and tried the egg meets sperm thing of every other day then more during ovulation. Hasn't worked for me.
Your fw is basically 5 days before your ovulation because sperm can stay alive inside you for that time (although I think technically most of the time they are only good for 2-3 days but you just never know) that's why it's recommended you have sex before ovulation. Once youve reached our peak, your app will tell you that you ovulate the next day although technically its 12-48 hours after your ovulation so if you peak Cd15 and it shows ovulation as being cd16 then technically it may be cd16 but could be Cd17 or CD18.
I used premom app alongside flo. I used the easy@home tests as I find them better for myself. Some people do use clear blue. I suggest if using easy@home or similar with the simple lines that when it starts getting darker then you test at least twice a day as it is easy to miss your peak. I generally start testing CD9 or cd10. This cycle I peaked cd15 but my last cycle was cd25 (again covid vaccine - some people had no change so its just me here I think haha). Hopefully your cycles will regulate and you'll know better in time.
Cm wise - I never really noticed it until ttc. Drinking enough water and the evening primrose oil tablets should help. If you don't see anything then actually inserting a finger is the best ideal. You can also feel for your cervix then. If it is low and dry then not fertile. If you're high and wet then get going haha.
I have found that spy isoflavones have helped my cycle and make my ovulation early this month but I know @Amy259 was trying them too but they haven't changed anything for her and I think @J1990 also tried them and had no luck. I think that sums up the ttc experience - some things work for some people but sometimes not for others.
You might find ttc not so bad but I know for us cycle 11 or going onto cycle 12 is very frustrating and you do go through that heartbreak every month. It doesn't get easier in any way.
I've also recently had a scan that shows that all is healthy and normal with me so no pcos etc. My husband has above average seminal analysis. Makes me wonder if we are both absolutely fine then why so long?! But that's just the way of it I guess. We don't all have issues as I am sure most of us on here are like too. We all look forward to our bfps and healthy pregnancy when that happens.
My recommendation is maybe from cycle 6 onwards to contact gp and maybe get them to test bloods or get seminal analysis if stu struggling but it's up to yourself when you want to try that.
If there's something specifically you'd like to try but want to ask us just ask away - bound to find one of us have tried it haha!
