Ah thanks for the welcome girls. My AF arrived through the night ha at least that explains my irrational mood! It’s quite intense this month but only to the expected. @Cafeaulait27 what aspirin do you take, like soluble?

Cafeaulait27 · 29/01/2021 18:36

@Gamechanger2019 sorry to hear that! Are you sure it’s not implantation bleeding? When I got pregnant the first time I thought it was my period but it stopped after a couple of days, so I did a test!

I take 2 water soluble 75mg aspirins per day, and I get them from Boots 😊 a friend of mine who had 3 mc took it throughout her pregnancy and had her first baby last year. She went to a recurrent mc clinic, and they said they tell all their patients to take it straight away as there’s no risks and helps a lot of people! I’ve been taking them for a few weeks now, hoping that it will help 🤞

AbiBrown · 29/01/2021 18:47

Ugh, I wonder if symptoms will start again... They've gone "quiet"! haha I don't know why I was so sure I was pregnant. I think I got caught up in all the stuff I've been reading online. I'm not sure it's happened this time! Who knows... 5 days left

HerringGull · 29/01/2021 19:10

@Cafeaulait27 I think I've been quite lucky with it, and have found it annoying rather than life-changing. It is very hard to stay a healthy weight though I find. Seems to be pretty common with it, but apparently it's a vicious circle, hard to keep slim but way less symptoms if you do - what a pest! 😆 I'm 10dpo today, AF due 4th or 5th.

@Gamechanger2019 sorry AF came 😔 is today the day you expected her?

@AbiBrown sure it doesn't mean anything yet, don't worry!

@emilyylouise how are you getting on?

Gamechanger2019 · 29/01/2021 19:13

@Cafeaulait27 thanks will check it out. I feel like it is AF quote full on, but I am early, it wasn’t due till Monday.

@HerringGull no early to be fair, but my cycle is probably just all over the place

AbiBrown · 29/01/2021 19:19

Thank you @HerringGull Flowers
My first reaction was mild panic and disappointment, horribly, just because it would mean I can't procrastinate anymore and have to immediately make important decisions like where to move to but then I started to get excited and now I'm actually a bit gutted to feel fewer symptoms than yesterday...

emilyylouise · 29/01/2021 19:47

@HerringGull

Serious metallic mouth today! Got worse as the day has gone on.. started to get red spots on my boobs which is weird??? and sore nipples. Also still got a headache and very hot still very cramps too🙈 10DPO today... going to wait out until Sunday morning if AF doesn't arrive 🤞🏻

Meg87 · 29/01/2021 22:04

I can completely empathise with those who will find it hard to fully enjoy a BFP due to previous loss. Last August during our first cycle ttc our first from about 14/15dpo (when AF was due) I felt so pregnant (even though I'd never been pregnant before!). It started with needing to pee every half hour one evening, when I hadn't had more to drink than normal. And during the days that followed my body felt so completely exhausted, I had brain fog and my tummy felt very full. My partner was away at the time and I didn't want to get a BFP without him so I said I'd wait til he got back about a week later. The day before he got back I woke up feeling normal, no brain fog, and I knew something was up. So I decided to take a test just to see if I had been right about feeling pregnant, or whether I'd gone totally crazy! I did get a positive but immediately after I started bleeding, and with the disappearance of symptoms I realised it wasn't good. I then got proper cramps and heavy bleeding followed. I took another test the day after and it was still positive but no darker than the first one, possibly a bit lighter if anything. Then another test two/three days later was a BFN. I'm sure I'll be excited if I get another BFP some time but I'm also sure I'll start fretting and imagining the worst almost immediately after! 😟
I should probably add that while this was happening I obviously Googled bleeding during early pregnancy and disappearance of symptoms and there were plenty of women who experienced this and went on to have a completely healthy pregnancy, so it doesn't necessarily always mean the worst.

HerringGull · 29/01/2021 22:22

@Meg87 sorry to hear about your loss too 😔 It is very hard to imagine you'll be excited by a new baby isn't it. Hopefully, since your loss was early, you'll be able to relax a bit after the dating scan. The second trimester can be lovely, so I hope you're able to enjoy that part! But the first few weeks will definitely be much harder now you've experienced loss.
Have you been trying long this time round? I mean since you decided to try again after your loss? Xx

@emilyylouise good on you! Sunday is definitely a good day to test ☺️ Quite like that it's almost certain to be accurate at 12dpo, but there's still a tiny sliver of hope even if it's a BFN!

Sweetk0987poiu · 30/01/2021 04:41

@HerringGull Totally agree! Couldn’t imagine being relaxed until I have a huge belly 😂 everyone says you never relax though even when they’re here and grown up 😂

I’m now 9dpo did a cheapie earlier and within the time limit a solid pink line is there (annoyingly still have to put under a torch to see but I can see it straight away it’s so much darker than the previous days) but there seems to be a bit of a dye run going through 😩😩😩 so now I’m gonna have to wait to test again.. never had an issue either these tests before so hoping I have a bfp and used a tad too much urine 😩

Blossom37 · 30/01/2021 06:50

@Sweetk0987poiu pop it on here if you want second pair of eyes. I'm like a lunatic as well shining torch and seeing imaginary shadows (which I know are not there 🤣)

@emilyylouise you are much stronger than me. I was going to wait but then of course I tested this morning (11DPO) and still BFN so with the feeling of AF on its way it feels like this month is out but won't lose hope until it actually arrives which by the feeling will be tomorrow most probably.

How is everyone doing today?

OP posts:
peach1234 · 30/01/2021 07:42

I tested this morning too! (And twice yesterday 😩) BFN trying to stay positive but also not get my hopes up too much. I feel like I'm obsessing much more this month, I think lockdown makes it so much harder. AF not due until Thursday either.

Did anyone else test? Xx

acaciabluebell · 30/01/2021 10:33

11dpo today, AF due tomorrow and I've got a BFN 😔

Cafeaulait27 · 30/01/2021 11:36

@HerringGull oh gawd, for me the only thing that pcos hasn’t affected is my weight, I’ve always been quite slim (but always been self conscious of my belly as it’s often bloated and I have small boobs which make it look more obvious... I suck in my belly all the time). I have facial hair, lots of body hair, acne and hair loss on my head which I manage pretty well with various treatments but it’s exhausting. The worst is the hair loss, I’m yet to find anything that works so I currently cover it up with a side parting and colour spray on my scalp. It’s an annoying routine but really helps my confidence.

@Gamechanger2019 really hope it was just implantation bleeding for you. If it was, you should get a faint positive on a test in a few days, keep us updated! 🤞

@Meg87 so sorry for your loss. For me, bleeding signalled the end of my first pregnancy. It started with brown discharge progressing to bright red blood over a few weeks. I only told the hospital when it went bright red, and then when I went in for a scan they said my baby had no heartbeat anymore and was the size of 6 weeks (even though I was 9 weeks). After that I waited a week to miscarry, can honestly say the physical pain was the worst I have ever felt in my life, I thought I was dying. Luckily I managed to catch the embryo (still in the sac) by fishing it out of the toilet and we buried it in the garden. I loved that baby and felt that something in my body had let it down. So I’ve tried everything in my power to improve my chances this time around. Eating healthily, taking natural folate instead of folic acid, and low dose aspirin. I really hope I can keep the next one 🤞 I did have another loss in November and although it was devastating, it was kind of just like a very heavy period so not anywhere near as traumatic, and we didn’t have long to get excited about the pregnancy.

Here’s hoping for third time lucky 🍀

I’m doing the weekly food shop tomorrow and will be buying a test, wonder how long I will be able to hold out before testing! My period is due on the 5th 😬😬😬

Anyone tested today?

Cafeaulait27 · 30/01/2021 11:37

@peach1234 sorry you got a negative but sounds like it’s still quite early for you, how many dpo are you?

I’m due Friday so trying to hold out on testing!! So hard and I agree even harder in lockdown with nothing else to do

Cafeaulait27 · 30/01/2021 11:39

@acaciabluebell sorry to hear that! Still quite early after ovulation though, don’t lose hope! Wait and see if your period turns up xxx

Gamechanger2019 · 30/01/2021 11:42

@Cafeaulait27 thanks but pretty certain AF, have you tried using Nioxin shampoo and conditioner? I have had so much hair growth from it, I don’t have PCOS but suffer with my hair might be worth it go, I’ve been using since last May and the difference is amazing

Cafeaulait27 · 30/01/2021 12:27

@Gamechanger2019 ah thanks for the recommendation, no I haven’t! I’ve been wary of buying shampoos cos I always thought ‘how can it actually help?’ But getting a recommendation from a real person makes me feel a bit more hopeful so thank you! I will give it a go 😌

Gamechanger2019 · 30/01/2021 12:45

@Cafeaulait27 you can kit this starter kit from Amazon about £17 I think shampoo, conditioner and like a foam for after. It lasts for ages but obviously depends on how frequent you wash your hair, I’m working from home so I get away with less frequent 🤣 Even my hairdresser has commented on my new hair growth, not a quick fix but I definitely recommend it

Gamechanger2019 · 30/01/2021 12:46

*get

HerringGull · 30/01/2021 16:03

Sorry for everyone who got BFNs today 😔 Don't give up though, still early!

@Cafeaulait27 aw that sounds awful. It's definitely different for everyone. I had bad skin for a bit but I found sebclair cream really helpful on my face, I think the PCOS was causing seb derm and the cream cleared it up. It was awful for the first few days I tried it though, I looked like a flaky tomato 🤣 I hope you find products/solutions that help you too.

peach1234 · 30/01/2021 16:39

@Cafeaulait27 thank you! I have a long LP so I got a static smiley on eve of Monday 18th so I reckon I implanted on 19th so I'm about 11dpo but yes not due AF until Thursday 😩 so stressful as even with BFNs you're still hopeful until AF comes so I would rather it would just come sooner!

How many DPO? Have you tested yet? X

Cafeaulait27 · 30/01/2021 17:28

@HerringGull thank you! The pill was amazing for me (combined pill) but obviously can’t be on it while we’re trying 😊 My skin seems to have calmed down a bit but as for all the other symptoms, I just try to disguise them as much as poss!

@peach1234 ooh do you use a digital ovulation kit? I’ve never used one! I think if you ovulated on the 18th it takes about a week to 10 days for the fertilised egg to implant, so yeah I guess you could get a faint positive on an early response test from now? Good luck!

I’m 8 dpo according to my app, but I don’t temp or test for ovulation as it makes me too anxious. So we just do it every day for about a week around when I should’ve ovulated. Hopefully it will work! Period due on Friday.

Such a long wait!! Xxx

peach1234 · 30/01/2021 17:44

@Cafeaulait27 yeah did one this morning BFN. Yeah I use the digital ovulation kit as found the flo app I use was out by a few days each month, so I got peak fertility on my test Monday night but my app said the Thursday. It's good because it's gives you lots of warning you get a showing of high fertility first for a few days before peak just before you ovulate (supposed to ovulate within 12-24 hours after I believe) x

Cafeaulait27 · 30/01/2021 18:18

@peach1234 I’m so sorry your got a BFN. Hope that when you test in a few days you’ll get a positive 🤞 how long have you been trying for?

That digital ovulation kit sounds good. Where did you get it if you don’t mind me asking? Xxx
