@Blossom37 @HerringGull thanks both! I know I was ok at the time but a bit gutted now which is so silly. I've got such bad cramps if I'm not pregnant I've got something else wrong!

Meg87 · 28/01/2021 18:37

Sorry about the negative @peach1234, but like others have said, it's early days!
I think I'm going to struggle waiting until 4th Feb to test, I'm going to want to test if everyone else is! 😀
I just hate the disappointment of a BFN 😣 I think I'd rather find out I'm not pregnant by having AF start in a way.

Luz192 · 28/01/2021 20:40

Hi ladies :) Thought I'd post as I have a similar AF date as others - I'm due AF on Weds 3rd and I believe I'm 8 DPO today. No symptoms but I wouldn't expect any this early anyway. I'm really really trying to hold off testing because we first started TTC'ing 12 months ago and seeing the negatives were really a downer.

We took a break after we did some testing and identified male factor issues, and my husband's since had a varicocele treated (3 months ago). So this will be our first time trying again after that... so I'm secretly optimistic because we've actually done something, but at the same time, I'm so used to seeing negatives that I can't quite imagine it being anything else...

Gamechanger2019 · 28/01/2021 20:51

Hey ladies I’m 9DPO, arghhh and I’m feeling so emosh today 😭 this is my first try since I sadly a MC at 7 weeks earlier this month. I stupidly did a test tonight, thought it might help my head but it hasn’t. Ahhh I’m normally quite upbeat but I think I’m just over this month if you get me. Anyone else feeling similar?

emilyylouise · 28/01/2021 21:17

@Gamechanger2019

Sorry for your loss 😓
I had a breakdown tonight because the house was untidy and I had spots on my face.. can't help but think it's AF on her way, currently 9DPO but my cramps are super bad so don't think this is my month 😓

Gamechanger2019 · 28/01/2021 21:53

@emilyylouise ha I’m pleased I’m not the only one. Lockdown clearly doesn’t help either at the minute. Ahh it’s so frustrating isn’t it? We must keep the faith!! How long you been trying for?x

HerringGull · 28/01/2021 22:23

Hi @Luz192 welcome - hope this is your month!

@Gamechanger2019 really sorry for your loss. That's very recent; hope you and your DP are taking care of yourselves. Do you think it would help to do the test(s) together? Maybe you already are! I've had a loss too and test with DH now, it is so much easier together xx

Gamechanger2019 · 28/01/2021 22:38

@HerringGull sorry to hear about your loss too, super sad. to be fair we’re not so maybe a good shout, thanks for the tip, although he might annoy me more 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣. I never thought I’d be the type of person to get frustrated by this so much, but think it’s because it’s so out of our control. Roll on Feb, and wishing you lots of luck. Hope you’re ok xx

Sunny1986 · 28/01/2021 22:58

Hello all!! Thought I'd jump in too since I'm on similar cycles to you guys. 11 dpo today and took a first response but nada. Due on on Monday so going to see what happens at the weekend... ZERO symptoms to spot this month... good or bad sign!?

Sweetk0987poiu · 28/01/2021 23:16

I’m a couple days late but I’m 7dpo today! I always do a test in a morning and one a night from bout 5dpo (I know that’s ridiculous I’m a testing psychopath) BUT I think I think I see a line under the light 😬😬😬😬 been trying for 6 months now and it’s our first month “not trying” and having sex when we want .. can’t believe it’ll have worked if I am hahaha I hate when people say just relax it’ll happen 😂 I had a miscarriage in august so hoping if I am it’ll stick! It’s rubbish having a miscarriage dampens any future positives ☹️ I have had cramping since ovulation up to 5dpo, headaches 5-6dpo, heartburn on and off and I can’t stop eating! Although that’s lockdown for me 😩😂

Cafeaulait27 · 29/01/2021 07:55

Yes! 7 dpo today and 7 days away from period. We did it every day for a week around ovulation so fingers crossed!

I’ve been waking up earlier, weird dreams, waking up really hungry and sometimes a bit nauseous. This morning I woke up starving, really needing a wee and nauseous!

I’ve also been super gassy since ovulation.

Can you really get symptoms this early??!!

HerringGull · 29/01/2021 08:09

@Sunny1986 and @Cafeaulait27 hello! Don't think having symptoms or not means anything at all. I get the same boring symptoms every tww, and when I conceived my last they were just slightly stronger after 12dpo ish, but really hard to notice.

@Sweetk0987poiu agree a loss means you don't enjoy future BFPs so much. I've not had a bfp since my loss, but I can't imagine getting excited until I actually have a live baby in my arms. A long time to wait!

@Gamechanger2019 don't count yourself out this cycle yet! Most embryos implant 9dpo so chances of you getting a bfp that day must be pretty small. Sure you're still in!

HerringGull · 29/01/2021 08:10

Meant to ask, did anyone test this morning?

DizSquiz · 29/01/2021 08:39

@HerringGull

Meant to ask, did anyone test this morning?
I am tempted but I think implantation would've happened yesterday and I don't know if it's too early to test. My boobs are tender this morning
Cafeaulait27 · 29/01/2021 08:49

@HerringGull yeah it’s so strange isn’t it how it varies. When I was pregnant last year (sadly miscarried at 9 weeks) I didn’t notice anything other than very vivid dreams, and I thought I was out because I was getting the beginnings of period cramps and a light period did actually come which turned out to be implantation bleeding. I’d started on the wine cos I really thought I was out and was trying to console myself!

I also had a chemical pregnancy in November after my miscarriage in October. I’ve now decided that I won’t test before my period is due, and I won’t have any early scans unless there’s a medical reason.

With my miscarriage I went for an early private scan and everything was normal but baby was small for 6 weeks, although there was a heartbeat. I was really worried from that point but the clinic said nothing to worry about. 2 weeks later I had the most horrendous experience of a miscarriage both physically and mentally. It’s now my view (from looking at news articles about them too) that private clinics tend to lean towards the overly positive and don’t like to give out bad news, and want to push cushions, keyrings etc.

Let’s just say I’m quite cynical after everything that happened last year!

Hope we get some positive news in this chat next week xxx

HerringGull · 29/01/2021 09:05

@Cafeaulait27 oh heck yes, bring on the wine! I drink until 14dpo and then stop, since the baby can't get your wine until 4-5 weeks so I've decided 14dpo is safe Grin Couldn't cope with not drinking while TTC; it's bad enough having all those months without it when you actually are pregnant!
I agree that it's better to wait for you period if you can. I try to test as late as I can too, as I don't want to know if I have a chemical either. I used to not test until AF was missing in action for a couple of days (for me this is about 18dpo as I have a long LP), but last month I wanted to drink on 15dpo so did a test with my DH there. I found it much easier with him and kind of psyching myself up for the result, rather than having to wait on tenterhooks for two days to see if AF shows up. I hated that. Mostly for me AF starts in the morning, but sometimes she pops up in the evening so it was literally 48 hours of fretting! So this month me and DH have agreed we'll do a test again, together, as close to AF as possible but definitely before she comes. I think your way sounds really good too - it's whatever works best for you mentally isn't it.
I'm really sorry about your mc, it sounds just awful :( I agree that early scans are not always great. I wonder if there are good ones and bad ones out there? The one nearest me is the senior midwife sonographer at the local hospital, so potentially literally the same person as if I went to the NHS. I would definitely look into whether early scans can be harmful (I mean whether it's a case of if there's no medical need then best leave well alone kind of thing), but if not think I'd get one. Might get an NHS one anyway based on previous loss, but not sure. Depends what options you have near you for early scans, but maybe there is a more reliable person somewhere? If you don't want one that's cool though. I didn't get one last time, and wouldn't do it this time if last pregnancy had been successful and I was confident about a new pregnancy, so totally get not wanting one.
So is AF due on the 5th for you? Will you test then or wait until the day after? x

Blossom37 · 29/01/2021 10:46

Hi to all joining us!

@Luz192 @Gamechanger2019 @Sunny1986 @Sweetk0987poiu @DizSquiz @Cafeaulait27

Sprinkling all the baby dust on you all ladies! Hope this is your month. I'm so terribly sorry reading about some of your miscarriage stories, that sounds really tough 😞 we have been trying for almost 12 months and that I'm itself been super hard each month, especially as I'm getting closer to 40 now so losing faith it will happen but I can't even imagine what you've been through. Sending you a virtual hug x

Apologies for being late in posting btw but I have exam at Uni today and been studying and it's not been fun as it actually turned out to be a horrendous UTI after all! Last night symptoms were not fun but managed to get antibiotics just hope they kick in before my exam 🙈

I of course tested this morning like an idiot 10DPO but I'm a freak and I just can't help myself 🤣 it was obviously BFN so I'll probably try to resist but will try again tonight on my cheapy ones 🤣🤣🤣

@HerringGull yes I’m due on the 5th! It’s gonna be a long wait... I think I will test on the 5th as my period are like clockwork (I have pcos but since being on metformin they have been really regular). I’ve also started taking low dose aspirin too as it helps with implantation, as well as helping blood flow to the foetus. It helps a lot of women who have recurrent miscarriage so I would urge anyone to take it if they want to.

I think there is some variation with private scans. Some are purely just so you can see your baby and are not medical at all, the one I went to was window to the womb and I thought they were very good, they have close links with the nearby hospital and say they will refer you if they are at all worried.

But I read a BBC investigation that said that window to the womb and others sometimes don’t tell the client if they see something bad like slow growth or a defect, as they are hoping to sell products like photos and cushions of your baby. I think it varies from clinic to clinic but as I’ve had a few mc now I will go for an nhs early scan if I need to now, as I don’t want to be given false hope and I know nhs won’t sugar coat anything. It’s totally your choice though 😊

Love the idea of testing with your other half, I might do that this time. It’s nice to share that moment whether it’s good or bad. There is a lot of pressure on a woman doing it alone and then having to give the good or bad news.

How long have you been trying for if you don’t mind me asking?

Fingers crossed for everyone! Xxx

Cafeaulait27 · 29/01/2021 12:22

@Blossom37 sorry to hear that, I will have been trying for a year soon too. Are you on any treatment or had any tests at all?

Fingers crossed for you! Xxx

Blossom37 · 29/01/2021 12:27

@Cafeaulait27 I'm not unfortunately as my GP said NHS won't do anything as I already was pregnant once (we got pregnant first month trying then so you can imagine my frustration although I know we were incredibly lucky I'm still worried something is wrong...). They did some blood tests as I hadn't had period for 18 months after having my little one and apparently all looked ok then so I just hope this is just stress or similar...

I'm trying my best to keep my mind off it

Cafeaulait27 · 29/01/2021 13:47

@DizSquiz it really is! Let’s all make sure we all check back next week, hoping at least some of us will have good news xx

Cafeaulait27 · 29/01/2021 13:52

@Blossom37 yes hopefully it’s just stress for you, fingers crossed you get good news soon. Did you used to have regular periods before your first baby? Are you still breastfeeding? I’ve heard that breastfeeding stops your periods coming back so could be due to that.... but you probably already know that 😊

I take metformin to regulate my periods and myo-inositol to help me ovulate and it seems to work a treat. I have pcos so when I came off the pill I didn’t have a period for a year, I ended up going to a private endocrinologist after getting nowhere with nhs and he put me on metformin which worked and my periods came back like clockwork.

I’m also taking 150mg of aspirin every day, it’s given to women with recurrent miscarriage and there are no risks to you or the baby. It can help with implantation of the egg and also helps blood flow to the foetus, reducing the risk of early miscarriage.

I feel like I’m doing all I can, so I really hope it works out soon 😣

HerringGull · 29/01/2021 13:57

@Cafeaulait27 I also have PCOS. Lucky us! I don't take anything proper for it though, just inositol supplements. It must be nice have regular periods! Mine vary by up to six ish days each month, but I always ovulate so I'm not worried about it from a fertility point of view. Ahh I see what you mean about the early scan - I would probably avoid big companies like that too. I would probably be okay with going to the midwife one I described though. She actually uses the hospital facilities (out of hours) and works there herself during the day. I think that's a bit different to a a big private company. I might be being naive though. I will ask about to see if anyone else has used her maybe. Thanks for making me think it through a bit more!

This is cycle 5 this time. I conceived last time on cycle 3, so I'm not worried yet. It is so hard waiting though. If you don't count my lost baby then I've been trying since autumn 2019. Hope that makes sense! Although it's been a long time since we first started, we haven't got to the stage where we start thinking we might have difficulty conceiving again (yet).

Cafeaulait27 · 29/01/2021 18:12

@HerringGull she sounds like a good one! I’m sure you’re in good hands with her 😊

And yes pcos totalllyyyyy sucks! Before ttc I’d been on the pill for 15 years and kind of forgot I had it, but when I came off all the symptoms came screaming back.

How many days dpo are you now? Sorry if you e already said and I missed it!

Sorry to hear about your loss. I hope you get lucky soon xxx
