Hopefully it’s sooner rather than later so you get on to the next cycle @bez91 I think Christmas makes it even harder, plus lockdown 🙈 can’t believe how slow the days are going right now. Last night I thought to myself I maybe would test a bit earlier, so I could put myself out of misery earlier 😂🤦‍♀️ Who knows what I’ll be thinking today!

@Mammaofgirls sorry, I couldn’t respond on the old thread as it’s closed but just wanted to say that sounds like a good plan and good luck xx

Firevie · 27/01/2021 09:01

Hi Ladies, sorry I’ve been AWOL! Quite a bit going on so not trying to focus too much on TTC. I’ve not been temping or testing ovulation this cycle. We just decided to DTD every other day and hope this will work.
Congratulations @Bellabubble wishing you a sticky bean
@HappyVibes so happy to read that you have your early scan booked this Sat. I’m sure it will all be fine!
@RichmondLady1981 hello how are you? Sorry I missed where you are in your cycle but hope you’re okay.
Xxx

elsimo · 27/01/2021 09:48

Aww sorry to hear @bez91 I was hoping for good news.

Did it take u long to conceive before?

NatJ24 · 27/01/2021 10:02

Hi everyone! There's been alot going on on the thread. Hard to keep up with it all, but I hope everyone is ok 🙂

@bez91 aww sorry, I was hoping for different news for you! Hopefully AF isn't too long away for you and you can start fresh in a new cycle!

@PumpkinEverything any update for you?

@ELMcg I have started ovulation tracking so its just more waiting again and see what happens 🙊

Welcome to all the new joiners, so sorry you are here but wishing good news for us all xx

NatJ24 · 27/01/2021 10:05

@PrettyPinkPansies I am not very good at reading ovulation sticks myself so couldnt say sorry, I do just go off either using premom and what that says or the clear blue smiley faces. I just keep it simple because otherwise I would be staring at the lines for hours haha!

Catmum55566 · 27/01/2021 10:06

Thanks for the welcome @PumpkinEverything.

Had a phone call from the GP this morning and a bit confused now - can anyone advise? Basically it was just a call to check everything is progressing naturally which it appears to be. DH and I are feeling quite positive and wanted to begin TTC again in the next few weeks, when everything is healed. I assumed that because both losses had been before 5 weeks it would be fine but the GP advised for us to wait 3 months!! This seems to go against what I have read online. What do you ladies think?

PumpkinEverything · 27/01/2021 10:08

Nothing new from me @NatJ24 just not so patiently waiting here at 9 DPO going between saying I’ll test in a few days, to saying no I’ll wait until 14 😂🙈 almost want to do an OPK just for the sake of doing some sort of test 😂😂

PumpkinEverything · 27/01/2021 10:16

Think the advice seems to be inconsistent everywhere @Catmum55566 after my surgical management they only said to me that I could be more fertile after, so to be careful if we weren’t ready to try again. They never told me to wait or anything like that. I know you’re supposed to wait for bleeding to stop so there’s no chance of infection. Others on here have said that they were told to wait one cycle, but that’s only for dating purposes

PumpkinEverything · 27/01/2021 10:18

Sorry, forgot to reply to @PrettyPinkPansies as well last night! In terms of the cheapies (I use easy@home) I think it’s supposed to be a high/positive when the test line is darker than the control line. From the photo it doesn’t look like it is, but it could be darker in real life. I’d go by your more expensive one with the static smiley and DTD. I think they’re supposed to pick up you’re fertile before the cheapie ones from what I’ve read as they check something else as well as your LH level.

ELMcg · 27/01/2021 10:36

@NatJ24 my ovulation kit is arriving today, within the next hour apparently 😂 but I was thinking I will wait until tomorrow morning to start testing and do it each morning first thing? I think that's recommended isn't it? Plus I was thinking it's very unlikely to ovulate 2 days after AF, that would be fairly rare and unfortunate!

So I will be with you on the testing tomorrow!

@PumpkinEverything hang in there! It's hard not to just test but try and hold out if you can! Have you had any symptoms of anything or are you trying not to symptom spot?

PrettyPinkPansies · 27/01/2021 10:38

@PumpkinEverything the instructions say if the test line is as almost as dark or darker, so I'm taking that and the fact I have a static smiley as I've had my surge I think. The clear blue one also has a higher threshold of 40 than the cheapies which are 20 so if that's gone positive I'm assuming it must be more accurate. How do you work out how many dpo you are? Do you class the day after the peak as ovulation day? X

PumpkinEverything · 27/01/2021 10:41

@ELMcg with the instructions in the easy@home ones I think it recommends doing the tests between 12-8 or something, so not first morning. I usually do mine around 5ish as it’s the only time I can manage a 2 hour hold without drinking because it’s between lunch and dinner! Then once I increase to two a day I either do 12 and then 5, or 5 and then around 8pm.

I’m trying not to symptom spot and compare notes from last time. But tbh I’ve not had the same symptoms as before, so no back pain or sore boobs, which is making me think I’m out unless they appear within the next day or two. I’ve had a few random cramps but I think I just get them anyway, apart from one day a few days after ovulation where they were quite sore (and that was too early to be implantation). Think what I’m currently experiencing as symptoms is just going to be related to AF!

PumpkinEverything · 27/01/2021 10:43

Yep definitely more accurate I’d say @PrettyPinkPansies 😊 yes it’s supposed to be after you get your peak you’ve ovulate 12-36 hours later or something, so the day after peak is ovulation day, and then the day after that is 1 DPO. Are you using any apps? I always find them handy for figuring out where I’m at. The Premom app tells you how many DPO you are, and also when they suggest taking a test.

angc30 · 27/01/2021 10:49

@Catmum55566 I'm definitely no gp so it's not real advice, I don't know if they had a reason for saying to wait. But, I had three early losses and I was told we could start trying again as soon as the bleeding stopped (and if we felt up to it) but recommended waiting a cycle for dating purposes. Hope you're feeling okay x

bez91 · 27/01/2021 10:54

Hahah @PumpkinEverything keep changing your mind!

Thanks @elsimo been generally lucky, it only took a couple of months but out of the last 7 months and the 2 losses I've been pregnant just about over half of the time just not a sticky one, so it's a bloody rollercoaster

@NatJ24 thank you! I hope you get your peak soon and we start getting some BFPs in the group!

angc30 · 27/01/2021 10:57

@PrettyPinkPansies are you testing at the same time each day? I recommend the Premom app too! Both the app and my tests (easy@home) say to test in the afternoon, so I try not to use the toilet or drink too much from after lunch and test when I get home from work around 5:30. Last cycle i tested in the morning too but I don't know if it was beneficial or not. I've tried so many different brands and I think the easy@home have been the best for me but I'm a little test crazy Confused

PrettyPinkPansies · 27/01/2021 11:04

@PumpkinEverything I am using Premom but it's still scored my strongest one as low, so not really sure where to go from there! I have flo too which I find really good. I was going to test when period is due, but not sure how many dpo you can test from?

PrettyPinkPansies · 27/01/2021 11:05

@angc30 yeah I'm testing at around 7am, 2pm and 7pm. The easy at home ones look a lot better than the one step ones I have, but I have also been using the clear blue advanced digi ans that detected a peak a day before my strongest one step. If I don't get pregnant this cycle I'll get the easy @ home ones next time but hopefully I don't need them x

angc30 · 27/01/2021 11:14

@PrettyPinkPansies fingers crossed for you!!! xx The clear blue definitely were the best ones but then my purse started to yell at me 😂

PrettyPinkPansies · 27/01/2021 11:16

@angc30 thank you, and you!! Yeah they're so expensive aren't they!! especially since I got 10 days of flashing smiley before a static!! If I didn't get static that day I was going to have to buy another box!! X

PumpkinEverything · 27/01/2021 11:19

@PrettyPinkPansies I got my faint positive at 11 DPO previously, but I think the app recommends from 12 😊

OP posts:
PrettyPinkPansies · 27/01/2021 11:29

Does everyone still DTD during the TWW to cover all bases? Scared if we stop we might miss something!!

Catmum55566 · 27/01/2021 11:37

Thanks for your thoughts @PumpkinEverything and @angc30. I felt a bit deflated when she said 3 months as we were feeling positive and that we would rather TTC as soon as it is safe. She also said if we got pregnant before the 3 months it wouldn't be an issue so that must mean there is no medical reason? I think we will stick with the one month advice, I don't think waiting too long would be good for us mentally. I just wish the medical advice was clear.

ELMcg · 27/01/2021 12:22

@PumpkinEverything I think Clearblue says each morning but I'll read the instructions and see, I'm all new to this stuff! So needless to say I don't really know what I'm doing! 😂
