Hi, I was looking for a current IUI thread too. I've just started my first cycle 🤞how about you?

Hi I've just started to im doing injections and got scan on weds to check follicles. Nervous to see if they are ok to big to small etc. Where are you in cycle ?

I'm in the same situation, doing injections and have my follicle scan Thursday morning. Is this your first attempt? I'm nervous too, ive read so many people say how their first attempt was cancelled after the scan or that they went ahead and failed the first time so not too hopeful.

I had iui 3 years ago and have my DD. I got pregnant on first iui but not first cycle. I had about 3 I think before I managed to get to the iui due to problem with lining of womb then having to cancel due to bank holiday and I had a cyst or something another cycle so had to abandon that one. My iui that worked I had to have a follicle reduction at same time as had 4 mature follicles. I just know there is so much that could be wrong each time I go for a scan it's crazy isn't it we over think it all. Good luck for your scan I'm sure it will all be fine you have crossed the first hurdle the baseline scan x

Sorry mad time at the moment I'm still working and just moved house last week, nothing like doing everything all at once! That's amazing that it worked for you before and on the first IUI too. It must have been stressful having to go though the first stage several times though. I feel quite calm about it but I think that's because it's unknown and a part of me is already assuming that at the scan they'll say it can't happen. I'm sure whatever the result of the scan it will hit me then. The injections are making me feel really bloated though but it'll be worth it if it's helping. How are you feeling about it all? Are you being asked to do Covid tests and to self isolate? x

Ah gosh that sounds like you have alot on at moment ! Best way to be though keeping busy and keeping mind off over thinking. I am terrible for that! I'm bloated to just praying I'm on high enough dose for it to have done something I didn't respond once before because dose was too low and think they may have put me on same dose or not much more. Don't have to do covid test but have to fill in forms every visit to confirm no symptoms and they did say to isolate to but I had pretty much been doing that before also.

What does did they put you on? I'm on 75 a day. I think keeping busy has been really helpful but I need to remember to stop occasionally. I had to take a Covid test when I started injections, then have another one I need to take day of the scan and from then have to self isolate up to the procedure. I'm waiting until after the scan until I do the test though because they charge £100 a test, I'm not eating a second one of as a result of the scan I have to wait until next cycle. x

Ah ye you don't want to spend if you don't have to I can't believe they are making you pay for test at all but I guess everywhere is different at moment. I'm only on 50 I think I was meant to be on 75 but at baseline scan they saw alot of follicles so they said do 50 I just hope they actually grow. I took 75 for first night as they didn't have 50 at clinic only a dose of 75 and my meds hadn't arrived then but now on 50.

I know, it was a bit of an unexpected extra cost. I was given 1 pre-loaded injection pen and lots of spare needles so you set the dose amount yourself and inject which makes it really easy. That's promising lots of follicles though. I hope it all goes ok tomorrow for you, let me know how you get on! x

Thanks I had lots of follicles so had to reduce dose now to 25 then back Fri for another scan. I had a 15,13,11 ,11 and lots of smaller follicles I can't remember size of them all but they said it's too many so hopefully the smaller ones won't develop if I have too many I have to either cancel cycle which is 200 pound charge or have follice reduction which i dont mind I just hope they don't all stop growing and disappear. That's good you had a lot of follicles growing, hopefully the scan tomorrow will show you have just 1 or 2 good to go. I had 17,14 and then several others 11 and under. They have advised to do 75 again tonight and half Friday but are happy to proceed with a trigger shot Saturday and procedure on Monday. It all feels a bit surreal to be honest, I think I had written it off this scan but it's all systems go. I know I need to stay calm and chances are still low for it to work Monday but I'm a step closer. x

That's brilliant news so exciting! Will they scan you again before iui.? I'm really worried now that they have put mine down so low i might ring them to double check as I really don't want to lose this cycle if they don't respond to low dose. X

Thanks, maybe they went lower with you because you had quite a few. She didn't seem worried about me having several at all and said she was sure only 1 would be viable. I think because this is my first experience of every stage I'm just going with it and see what happens. Does seem weird I'm on 75 then 35.5 and they wanted you on 25 though, can't hurt to call and ask to talk about it with them. Hopefully on Friday everything will be just right for you, you may end up having it at the same time as me. x

I should be ready for iui Mon or Tues. Had scan got 6 they are worried about so follicle reduction before iui I had a 18 16 and 4 14s they said the 14s catch people out with multiple pregnancies so they will have to reduce me to 2 or 3 follicles. Did they say to you about risk of multiples. Looks like we may be 2ww buddies fingers crossed ! X

That's exciting you can go ahead this cycle, what does a follicle reduction consist of? They didn't mention being worried or anything about multiples and to be honest as it's all new to me I just went with it, the nurse seemed very relaxed about it all. They've confirmed me this afternoon, 10pm Sat trigger shot and then in for 10am Monday morning. All feels rather real now. I'd not really considered the wait to be honest, I think I'll struggle with that. I like to know and plan things hood or bad. Have they confirmed your day and time to go in now? x

You sort of get put to sleep for it well drugged right up because it's a needle in to suck out the follicles or the inside of them and then they do the iui right after. They will scan just before though to check how many follicles are there so praying some might have gone and I can just have iui on its own but that's unlikely. I'm in 10am Monday as well. Wishing you lots of luck for Monday it's nice to have someone to talk to who's going through it at same time x

Good luck to you too for Monday, sounds uncomfortable but if it means they can go ahead this month sounds worth it, at least you know what to expect this time round, which is a good thing I suppose? let me know how it goes. Feels weird just waiting for Monday now, I don't know how I'll be with the 2ww x

I no it feels like the whole process of conception is 1 wait after another isn't it. Between scans and iui and then the 2ww. I'm saving lots of jobs in the house to do in 2ww lol I know it will drag. Let me know how you get on this weekend is dragging already haha just want to get it over with x

I've been so restless, decided to do some batch cooking today more for something to do and then cleaning between. I've been quite calm about the whole process but I'm excited now too. Bit concerned tho as it's been snowing pretty much non stop since 7am and I'm over a hours drive from my clinic on a clear run. Could have done without that but really early start for me. How have you been? x

Ah that's a pain make sure you give yourself plenty of time so you don't have to stress tomorrow. Time is dragging already I'm dreading the 2ww. Don't think I'll sleep much tonight lol x
