@eloiseislost take a deep breath ❤️ take your Fitbit off and keep it off. Have you been wearing it sporadically? If you're not wearing it consistently you can't trust it anyway. Tell your partner to hide it until you've had your 12 week scan. Absolutely everything can effect RHR. Have you changed how much you exercise/eat/drink/sleep/move?
Lots of people, the majority I think, have dips in RHR in and around six weeks pregnant. So it is more than likely perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. Your tests are progressing, you got your 3+, you've had no bleeding or anything have you? There's literally no reason to think the same thing is going to happen this time except for a number on a watch that is more than likely a coincidence. I'm sending you a big huge hug and a gentle shake by the shoulders ❤️ Lots of deep, calm breathing and positive thoughts.

Do you have an early scan booked?

eloiseislost · 07/02/2021 16:59

@Remembermee Thank you! I am very prone to anxiety and I've been extra-emotional these days, which is a bad combination!

@MrsKin90 I knew you would talk sense into me! 😂 As always, I am grateful!
I had taken my watch off for a few days because I wanted to avoid what just happened, e.g.: the PANIC! 😱
I decided to put it back on because I wanted to start lightly exercising again and here we are. I regret that now, I should've allowed myself to become a couch potato. 🥔
I have a scan booked for next Saturday, I'll be 6w+1. It's when things went wrong last time, so I'm hoping that a scan will help me mentally overcome this block, if everything looks OK.

Awww @eloiseislost dont panic , I promise that doesn’t mean anything honestly. In my last pregnancy I had to take my Fitbit off. I had a previous miscarriage so was anxious like you. My heart rate went up before my BFP and then , like yours , shortly after (maybe a week) went right down again to my normal baseline. I was terrified, but have since learned that that’s perfectly normal as your heart gets used to pumping that bit more blood around your body and settles down. I took my Fitbit off so I wouldn’t obsess about the numbers. Said foetus is now a healthy and happy monster of a toddler. Yours will be too before you know it ❤️❤️💕💕

MrsKin90 · 07/02/2021 17:07

@eloiseislost so there are two reasons right there that you can't pay any attention to your RHR: you've stopped exercising and you've not been wearing it every day so for all you know the dip the other day could have been followed by a huge rise and this could be another one time dip. 😊 I did absolutely nothing yesterday and my RHR dipped by 3 today to the lowest it has ever been.
It's weird but did you know this: you can exercise without a watch telling you you're doing so 😱 my hubby told me this when I refused to go for a walk until my watch had charged. Blew my mind 😂 sarcastic bugger.
Do a bit of gentle exercise if you feel up to it - it'll do your anxiety and emotions some good. Healthy body, healthy mind. Don't go mental and all out with it, but you know some gentle exercise won't do any harm. Xx

eloiseislost · 07/02/2021 17:13

@Bizawit Thank you for sharing your experience, it means a lot to me. 💖
The funny thing is I consider myself a rational person in my professional life and I have always had a knack for medical research. So what you say makes perfect sense, your body goes through an initial shock after implantation -because that's exactly what it is, your body is oblivious to what's happening when the sperm meets the egg until the embryo implants and starts sucking the life out of you basically! 😅 And it also makes sense that our bodies continuously adapt and re-adapt through the entire process. If heart rate kept going up, our hearts would explode long by the third trimester.
And yet, here I am, posting about my RHR and looking for a hand hold. I don't know what I would do without all of you, you have so much compassion and understanding for my craziness! 😄🥰

eloiseislost · 07/02/2021 17:16

@MrsKin90 I literally laughed out loud at your hubby's observation! As sarcastic as it was, it is very apt! Incredible how I have been conditioned to rely on the tracker to value exercise.
I've been feeling exhausted lately so I have been the most inactive I've been as long as I can remember. Maybe I just need a bit of yoga or a short walk in the park. If only covid wasn't a thing, retail therapy would be an option! 😄🛍

How are you these days? 😘

OP posts:
Makingnumber2 · 07/02/2021 17:18

@eloiseislost hope the wise words of @MrsKin90 and @Bizawit have helped settle your anxiety a bit. So sorry you had such a horrible panic about the RHR. Definitely take the watch off and leave off now until your first few early scans have been gone. Sending you some calming vibes ✨

@Remembermee if you went ahead with your consultant would that mean all SI is off the table? Sorry if that’s a v stupid question! What is it that puts you off starting treatment now? I think ultimately you should do what you feel to be the right thing for you. Maybe make a pros and cons list of starting treatment sooner or waiting? I often do that when struggling to make a decision.

ComebackQueen · 08/02/2021 08:56

@eloiseislost I second, third and fourth what the other ladies say, take of that Fitbit.
How long until your first early detection scan?
Hopefully not too long, just try stay calm, I know, easier said than done. All will be well and baby will be fine.
I know this sounds cheesy but maybe go onto YouTube and type in first trimester affirmations? Or positive music? I’ve started using a positive music thing on Apple when work and life stress me out. Helping my mum move house I definitely needed it lol.

When’s everyone’s next set of SI starting? I’m looking at end of Feb and it seems so far away, I really envy you ladies who have almost clockwork 28 day cycles.

eloiseislost · 08/02/2021 09:19

Hi @ComebackQueen, how did the move go? I hope your mum is settled in her new home and you are now getting some much needed rest when you can! 🙂
Thanks for the advice, you make a good point, I should really try to drown my irrational thoughts in some nice music. I have this app called Calm that I normally use before bed but maybe it should be throughout the day!

Good luck with this cycle's SI, I'll keep everything crossed for you! 🤞🏼 How long are your cycles normally?

ComebackQueen · 08/02/2021 09:33

@eloiseislost she’s liking the place, a bit of a culture shock now living alone since my father passed away and as her arthritis has really ramped up since she retired, she finds the new bungalow so much better and doesn’t have to struggle with stairs.

I’m just glad I don’t have to lift any more boxes for a while, I moved last year so hopefully no more house moves for a while lol.

My last cycle was actually 33 days I thought I ovulated later but it came on 31 January or technically 1 Feb as it has passed midnight, acupuncture made it so light and barely lasted.
I had really painful and heavy periods so already acupuncture has helped massively.

So my next SI window will be from CD20 to CD23 I think which is 20-23 February and then Feb is over lol.
My acupuncturist thinks by March I’ll be to a 30 day cycle and by April/May I might be on 28 clockwork which will make it easier for trying to SI as it'll be two weeks either side and not three weeks to wait to ovulate.

Thanks for keeping everything crossed, it’s my birthday month so I want good news Blush

eloiseislost · 08/02/2021 09:46

@ComebackQueen We are about to move some time in mid/late March and I'm already dreading packing and unpacking! 😱
Sounds like acupuncture has really made a difference for you, that's really great! Do you track ovulation?

OP posts:
Bluey18 · 08/02/2021 09:57

I feel your pain @ComebackQueen, I ovulated CD23 last month which would leave me waiting until 25th February if I get the same pattern this month. I will still have to use opks from the 13th though because my cycles are all over the place and occasionally my body will act normal. I hope the time flies by for you and fingers crossed for a shorter cycle for you soon 🤞.

It's so interesting that acupuncture has helped with heavy painful periods, I didn't know it could do that.

ComebackQueen · 08/02/2021 10:06

@eloiseislost I will be using OPKs and I’ll start testing from CD14 and then SI from CD20-23. This will be my first cycle that I actually do it though. Also I read not to use OPKs close to period and a week after until the LH surge is completely gone.

@Bluey18 we can be cycle buddies hehe usually when I mention I ovulate CD20 plus everyone looks at me like I have two heads, nice to know someone else is in the same boat. Hopefully the next three weeks fly by for us all.

Oh yes, acupuncture is amazing for my heavy periods, when the acupuncturist said it’ll lighten, I did think he is just saying that but one cycle in and it’s like heaven and earth the difference.

Oilyoilyoilgob · 08/02/2021 21:04

Hi @eloiseislost I second everything everyone has said-try not to panic! You’ve not had your watch on, there’s a change in your normal activity AND you’re pregnant-there’s bound to be both bodily and Fitbit changes so try not to read into every change. You’ve had your 3+ on the cb digital, no bleeding or other signs (long may that continue!) so honestly try not to go to a bad place.
I get it cos that’s my go to but I’m pretty good at advising other people otherwise 😄 rest, relax, take it easy and if you feel you’re going to be constantly comparing readings maybe leave the watch off for a couple of weeks 💚

Well I did a softdisc trial yesterday, I was almost sweating with panic in the bathroom picturing all sorts of disc shaped shenanigans and having to go to a&e with a ufo up my chuff 😂 but it went ok....I think I could do with trying to tuck it under my pubic bone a bit more but I think if I use pressed that’ll be a bit better-I had a dry run 😅 but no disc disasters so it was a good Sunday!
Started opks and I’m cd 8 so I think we’re going to start SI from tomorrow just to get in early.

Glad to read everyone is well despite you all having lots going on. A huge amount of good luck and crossed fingers to everyone in their tww 🤞🏻 and to us about to SI may 2021 be our year 🤞🏻🍀💚 xx

Makingnumber2 · 09/02/2021 09:59

@Oilyoilyoilgob your soft disc trial write up has made me laugh out loud! Grin I'm so pleased it went well overall and your experience of sweating in panic and considering A and E intervention to aid removal perfectly sums up my first experience of trying to remove it!!
Now you've had the trial you'll; be a pro for when you use it for SI. I hope it's the magic ingredient for a BFP result for you this cycle!!

Oilyoilyoilgob · 09/02/2021 13:25

Ha @Makingnumber2 I laughed too, probably with relief haha! It got to the point when my fingers were pushing it in that I bottled it and slid it back out a bit, then back in. It was like the hokey cokey for softdiscs, then when it went fully in my eyes widened like this 😳 at the realisation there was no going back and if it got stuck it was either a&zero or lay like a turtle on its back to get help from husband when he got back from work.
So the over active imagination helps loads in these scenarios 🙄 but it was pulled out with no problems and then I got fascinated by the pubic bone so I dug out my old anatomy and physiology book to look at human bodies 😂

It’s lovely thick powdery snow here today, topped up all the bird and squirrel feeders and getting loads of laundry done. I like this phase in my cycle as I feel very productive once over period and pmt tiredness and anger 😇

Hope everyone having a good day 💚

MrsKin90 · 09/02/2021 13:29

@Oilyoilyoilgob the word "chuff" is absolutely hilarious. 😂 I'm glad you didn't get a UFO stuck up there, although the people in A&E could probably do with a giggle! My pubic bone seems to sit very far forward compared to diagrams and I can feel the cup right at my chuff entrance (🤣) but it stayed in well enough for SI last cycle. I hope it feels a bit easier when you actually use it 😊

It's only CD7 for me! Feels like CD40 if I'm honest! Roll on fertile week! ❤️

Is anyone still in their tww? We didn't miss anyone did we? 🧐 I assume everyone is waiting for O.

Aw @MrsKin90 when does your fw usually start?

I’m in 2ww- 4dpo for me 🥳

MrsKin90 · 09/02/2021 14:33

@Bizawit ah sorry I missed that! Hooray 4dpo 😊 fingers crossed for you! How are you feeling? How did SI go for you? Sorry if I missed it. This is me being too lazy to go further back than the top of this page 😇

Oilyoilyoilgob · 09/02/2021 14:34

Hahaha @MrsKin90 chuff entrance, I’m sniggering to myself here 😂 I’m with you a very prominent pubic bone (at least I think, I guess I’ve never had to hide a ufo behind it!) but I’ve now broke off from making my bed to feel my pubic bone near my chuff. I’m fully clothed btw 😅🤭

They seem really good for periods too, I’d also bought a moon cup prior to soft discs which I haven’t tried for periods yet but I think I’ll definitely try them for if/when a period comes. I’m not comfortable in tampons and pads make my skin a bit sore and I hate feeling like I’m wearing a nappy. Who knew tcc would open up all these options!

Not long for you for ovulation, it’s seems quite a few of us are in similar ttc time zones.

If anyone is in their tww I’m sending my best wishes for a positive result 🤞🏻🍀 xx

Oilyoilyoilgob · 09/02/2021 14:35

Ooh @Bizawit best of luck for you for a sticky bean xx

MrsKin90 · 09/02/2021 14:54

@Bizawit I didn't even read your entire reply 😂 sorry. I've got my head up my butt today I think.
My fertile week is usually around CD16-25 or something so a little while yet. I'm not even sure any more. I'm gonna start SI on Sunday just because it's valentine's day, not because I'll actually be fertile! Hoping for accidental early ovulation (is that too much to ask?!).

@Oilyoilyoilgob 🤣 welcome to the Prominent Pubic Bone Club? I think... 😁 I use a menstrual cup for periods. It's an Athena cup and I absolutely love it. It feels so much cleaner and easier and helps my cramps and better for the environment... I could twattle on for hours about why they're so great for periods so definitely give them a go 😊

Bizawit · 09/02/2021 14:54

@MrsKin90 and @Oilyoilyoilgob thank you!!

I think the SI went ok. I mainly used the discs. Did one syringe on day of ovulation (I think) and actually did a better job that usual (higher volume/ fewer air bubbles) I think because I left longer than usual for it too “liquify”.

I’m feeling ok, trying to distract myself. Only issue is- sorry if this is TMI! - but I seem to have a yeast infection (I tend to be susceptible) do you guys think this could affect implantation? Should I take anything or just leave it 😨?

ComebackQueen · 09/02/2021 15:06

@Bizawit take a probiotic, I did read yeast infections may hinder implantation but antidotal evidence suggests probiotic supplements not only show positive with implantation but also helps potentially reduce early/chemical miscarriages.

MrsKin90 · 09/02/2021 16:13

@ComebackQueen that's interesting to know!!

@Bizawit I've never had a yeast infection. Do they continue and get worse if you don't treat them or can they eventually go on their own?
