@Makingnumber2 I've not tested this cycle either. I was also debating to take a test like you but have decided not to. We are all here for you regardless of whether you test or not x

Oilyoilyoilgob · 31/01/2021 12:50

@MrsKin90 and @rs2015 sorry your period is showing up and @Makingnumber2 sorry the sign are showing for a period ☹️

Lori23TTC · 31/01/2021 14:37

@Makingnumber2 @Oilyoilyoilgob thank you both for sending a hug ❤️ I’m so sorry to hear you are going through such a terrible time to makingnumber2 I’m sorry to hear about your MIL - also sending a hug back.

Sorry to hear so many oh us think our AF is on the way 😢 lets hope for a better month in February 😍 xx

Makingnumber2 · 31/01/2021 18:36

Thanks @rs2015 I caved to my urge to POAS but did an OPK (inspired by eloise's latest OPK line success!) Anyway- no lines to be seen (not really much of a surprise! Not as upset as I thought I would be as I think in my mind I'm like- still not out out because it wasn't a proper hcg test and AF still isn't here #deludedmuch Grin

Thanks @Lori23TTC for the hug back Smile and yes let's as Feb is the month of Valentines and therefore love the universe shows us all a load of love with lots of BFPs!

Whilst reading up on SI today- as you do- I think I've identified maybe a key flaw in the way DH and I do it and it's something I've heard you reference before @eloiseislost- liquefying sperm?? So apparently if using syringes it is recommended to allow sperm to liquify in receptacle at as close to body temp as poss. One site recommended lying with the pot on your bare tummy under a duvet! So DH and I haven't been doing this and therefore I feel like we have another weapon in the arsenal for this new cycle which is cheering me up and I think I will have to woman up and do more soft disc SIs rather than the 1 I did this cycle and then got freaked out by difficulty I had removing it. I love having a plan- makes me feel more positive about the whole situation.

MrsKin90 · 31/01/2021 18:45

@Makingnumber2 so sorry to hear about your MIL 🙁 I didn't read far enough back to see your message ❤️ having lost my mum last year after a terminal diagnosis I can really sympathise. It's very stressful and heartbreaking for everyone involved, even if you're just supporting your OH. Make sure you take good care of yourselves throughout as it is so exhausting and very hard to be there for each other through TTC as well as grieving. I hope you get a bfp just so there's something positive going on as well. This is what I had hoped for myself at the time ❤️ it is good to have a plan for each new cycle, hopefully liquifying the sperm makes all the difference for you if AF shows 🤞 hope she doesn't.
My husband was a valentine's Day conceived baby 😂 nice to think maybe we're meant to follow the same path?! Although I wouldn't have ovulated by then as should probably let AF start and piss off before I start dreaming about the next cycle.

Lots of love to everyone and welcome to the two new people I missed ❤️

eloiseislost · 31/01/2021 19:07

@Makingnumber2 As much as my crazy experiments worked out for me, I think OPKs can^^ pick up hcg but it doesn't mean they do every time! You're not out until the fat lady sings. 😉
As for liquefying the sperm, I think I have read somewhere that the thicker the semen, the more pressure you put on it while sucking it up in the syringe, which can cause more damage. This is why, I think, they recommend keeping it warm until it liquifies, so it goes up in the syringe much easier and with less damage. I'm like you, I love to have a plan, it gives you a sense of control that is much needed with TTC. Best of luck! 🍀💚💚💚

@MrsKin90 oh gosh I am so sorry to hear about your mum Flowers- I can't imagine how difficult that must have been. I am finding it emotional enough with MIL and actually can't even bear the thought of what if this happens to my own DM.
Exactly as you said-I've hoped for a BFP to just bring some positivity in to our lives and I know DMIL would be thrilled. My SIL is pregnant though so thankfully someone in family has given MIL some exciting news in recent months- although since she has been told it's 6 months left I think she is now devastated at the prospect of not being here when SIL's baby arrives. They say people hang on sometimes don't they for things like that so I hope she does- it would give all of us such comfort knowing she got to meet the new baby in the family. The whole experience just feels very surreal because as you said, it's a grieving process but one that has started long before the person actually dies and in that sense it is exhausting.
I reckon February could be yours and DH's lucky month is he was Valentine's baby!!

@eloiseislost thanks for rationale behind the liquefying recommendations on some of the sites I looked at as they didn't include WHY liquefying is something to do! I found it hard to understand as I always thought the longer semen was exposed to air the more sperm died, but I read today they die as the semen dries so I think 10 mins of liquefying time shouldn't result in an empty pot because it's all dried up! Also lots of sites saying don't empty syringe really fast which made me laugh and cringe simultaneously as I recalled my first ever SI where I depressed the syringe at lightning speed to try and emulate what I imagined the speed of an ejaculation to be like Grin. School girl error there!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend Smile

primrosechill · 31/01/2021 20:42

@MrsKin90 @rs2015 sorry to hear that you think your AF is almost here - make sure you make some good plans for the next few days to take care of yourselves, whatever happens ❤️ I’ve realised that this is often my downfall: I wait until AF is due and only then start making plans for the following cycle, but often by that point I’m too heartbroken to motivate myself to do anything. So from now on I’ve decided to plan some fun me-time for CD1 in advance. This way I have something to look forward to regardless of the outcome - I suspect more often than not it will involve prosecco 🤣

Also, welcome to the group @Bubblemonkey!

Hope everyone else has had a good weekend and is mentally prepared for the week ahead - I’m currently chasing Sunday Scaries away with a nice bath 🛁 💆🏻‍♀️

Birchybirch · 31/01/2021 21:35

Howdy all! Hope you're all ok. Not been on here for a couple of weeks, so just been catching up on messages.

Huge congratulations @eloiseislost! When I was reading your messages re not wanting to test, I knew exactly what you meant as I felt the same. I had a inkling that I might have been, but didn't want to test initially incase I was wrong. DH talked me into it in the end, and thankfully I'm almost 7 weeks in...

@makingnumber2 so sorry to hear about your MIL. I'll keep everything crossed that you are able to give her some lovely news soon.

Welcome to the group the ladies who have recently joined. Everyone in this group has been so lovely and helpful. Definitely helps having other people with the same experiences x

eloiseislost · 31/01/2021 21:39

Hi @Birchybirch, lovely to hear from you and thank you! I'm glad your pregnancy is going well! ❤️
16DPO today for me so very early days still, but got 2-3 weeks on CB digital so I'm trying to stay hopeful. 🤞🏼🌈

Hey ladies!
I’ve me MIA for a while now as I really really lost my hope as it just wasn’t happening for me. It still hasn’t happened for me, but I think not talking to anyone about it at all hasn’t helped me - so I’m hoping you’ll all take me back under your wing and allow me to talk with you all.

I’ve seen that there has been some wonderful success lately (and this thread has grown massively we’re on thread #3!) so I am hopeful just a bit down. I know my OH is also very down about it all.

So once again, hello all. I hope you’re all doing well x

Oilyoilyoilgob · 31/01/2021 22:35

@MrsKin90 I’m so sorry about your mum. Heartbreaking. Thank you for sharing that 💚

@Makingnumber2 Hope you’re feeling ok xx

@Birchybirch I’m sorry head in shed and I’d not been on, so if I haven’t congratulated you then sending you you my warmest congratulations! 🥰 💖

@MrsCSmith anyone is welcome back at any time. I had a few weeks out due to my poorly cat who I sadly had to put to sleep 😔 Sometimes it’s best to step away to focus on fewer things. Sorry you’re feeling down, there always lots of virtual hugs here xx

Well cd32 for me and this afternoon I started cramping and a bit of brown spotting just now so I guess I’m out, and period just about to start. Won’t lie, I’m upset and gutted and feeling totally deflated. My husband is down and so am I. I dared to daydream I could be pg due to nausea and crazily vivid dreams like last September. I was so, so hoping it would be our month 😞
Good luck to everyone still in the running xx

MrsCSmith · 31/01/2021 22:51

@Oilyoilyoilgob thank you for the welcome back

Well AF is due on Wednesday coming. Usual symptoms of sore boobs and a tiny bit of ‘heaviness’ in my uterus (if that makes sense) but each month I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I don’t have any HCG tests in the house and it’s probably best otherwise I’m a serial - pee - on - a - stick-er!
Also I am so sorry to hear of your Cat. Pets are so wonderful with their unconditional love. I am a avid dog lover and my heart aches thinking about those times that I’ve had to endure too.

Much love to everyone

Bluey18 · 31/01/2021 22:52

Sorry everyone who feels like AF is on the way. I'm 99% sure I'll be joining you all on the next cycle, 10dpo today and I've all my usual pre-AF symptoms, right on schedule 😔. Took a FRER from a 2 pack which was due to expire today, I bought it like 18 months ago, obviously it was BFN, but I would have been throwing it in the bin anyways, figured I may as well pee on it first. There was also another pregnancy announcement in my family today. My cousin, this will be her third baby, all born after I had my DD, just a reminder at how rubbish I am at getting pregnant. Just feeling down about it all today. I'll feel better tomorrow, but for now pass the chocolate 🍫

Makingnumber2 · 01/02/2021 07:44

So sorry AF has arrived @Oilyoilyoilgob hope you are being extra kind to yourself and that DH is being extra ,kind to himself too.

@Birchybirch such great news your pregnancy is progressing so well- wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months!

Welcome back @MrsCSmith- I don't think I was on here when you were last on, so hello and I hope you will be sharing some exciting news with us v soon!

@Bluey18 10dpo is still pretty early- I've never had a BFP before 13dpo, so I would say not out til the witch AF shows her wicked face! Will keep all crossed for you.

So I of course couldn't keep the POAS situation locked down once I opened up pandora's box yesterday by peeing on the OPK. I've taken a cheapie strip this morning with FMU and I can't decide if it's a squinter or an indent line I'm seeing. I genuinely thing I have a problem with line eye- where I see a second line when there isn't one there. It happened yesterday with the OPK- but once the 10 mins time was up it was definitely no line there.
I think I'm seeing a second line on my cheapie strip- but equally am really scared it's line eye again and my brain playing tricks. I'm shining a bright light on it so not sure if that's a silly thing to do as will that be creating an indent shadow? If I upload a pic can people give their opinions? I'm so confused- I've got classic AF cramps starting up this morning so not getting my hopes up.

Makingnumber2 · 01/02/2021 07:45

Line eye/indent shadow or possible actual line?

One without bright light. I can now see the line better without the bright light but it hasn’t photographed well. I think I may be losing my mind...

@Makingnumber2 I can see a shadow of a line 🤞🏽can you get hold of a FRER?

MrsKin90 · 01/02/2021 07:56

@OTTYrevolution if you had read the very first post (or even the title) you'd have known this isn't the right thread for you. We're a very kind bunch but I absolutely have to draw the line under talking to someone who might have accidentally gotten pregnant and doesn't want to be. I'm sorry you're scared - starting your own thread would get you the right support. I hope things work out for you.

@MrsCSmith welcome back ❤️ sorry you've had no success yet 🙁
@Oilyoilyoilgob spotting is rubbish. I'm so sorry xx
@Bluey18 you're not out yet! Don't give up 😊

@Makingnumber2 I'm not sure if I see anything 🤨🧐 maybe? 😬

Bluey18 · 01/02/2021 07:59

@Makingnumber2 I can see a line on both pics. It could possibly be an evap, very hard to tell from pic, sorry. I second getting a hold of a FRER if you can. Ooh, I will have everything crossed for you 🤞xx

Makingnumber2 · 01/02/2021 08:02

Thanks for looking @rs2015 and @MrsKin90. I am going to wait a few more days and see what happens before splashing out on frer. These cheapie strips are supposed
To be quite sensitive. A few more days will confirm either way if it’s line eye and wishful thinking or if AF shows. AF is due tomorrow or weds.

And yes @OTTYrevolution totally the wrong thread for you. That’s why it’s an idea to always read the first few posts of a thread at least before posting. You might want to ask MNHQ to remove your post? Best of luck for the future 😊

Makingnumber2 · 01/02/2021 08:04

Thanks @Bluey18 both pics taken within 10mins and line deffo got more visible (although let’s be honest it isn’t that clear 😂) after mins. I might check the box instructions again to ensure within 10 mins is ok. I’m gonna hold off for frer for now... as I just know I’ll splash out on a CB digital and AF will arrive. It’s the kind of mean crap she would pull

eloiseislost · 01/02/2021 08:11

@Makingnumber2 I can see it on both photos, and it looks like it has colour to it, eeeek 😬 How many DPO are you?

OP posts:
Makingnumber2 · 01/02/2021 08:14

I just checked test box and it says read results within 5 mins
Not 10. So those pics were taken at prob 6-7 mins. So it’s likely an evap 😭 knew it was too good to be true
