Hi everyone Smile Desperately seeking some advice or if anyone has had similar.
I'm 30 with PCOS but been very lucky to have an now 8yo girl. I was told since that conceving naturally on my own would basically be impossible. I stopped treatment 2 years ago for help with conceving for various reasons and haven't been on any contraception.
Fast forward to today I done a pregnancy test, have had severe heartburn, headache, spots. I can't go on any sort of ovulation calender or periods due as I can sometimes only have 3/4 periods a year. I used the test 'answer' from savers and to my absolute shock a very faint pink line appeared. I got it confirmed with my partner and sister, there was a definite faint line. I went and bought another one same brand and again, very very faint line (more faint than first one) Not believing this I got clear blue rapid detection test, Morrisons and Tescos own brand pregnancy tests. All 3 of these have been negative. Granted I have tested late in the evening and drank my body weight in water! I then googled these Answer pregnancy tests and reviews on amazon have said they too have had false positives. I'm now in limbo not knowing what is going on! Has this happened to anyone else? So sorry for the long story!

@xMonaL only way to be sure is to just test again with a more reliable test such as a frer, I have seen plenty of stories about false positives with bad brand tests etc. I hope you get the answer your hoping for 🥰

ShalomToYouJackie · 14/01/2021 22:28

Test first thing in the morning with a reliable pink dye test like a FRER

xMonaL · 15/01/2021 20:49

So I did a test with the Morrisons one again this morning, those are pink dye (was waiting on frer being delivered and got impatient!) and faint positive, darker than yesterday mind you, wish I could upload pictures! I took a fref test afternoon when they finally arrived and again, lighter faint positive. Going to try frer again with morning urine, still not quite believing it Confused Thank you for your advice ladies!

@xMonaL Answer tests are made in the same factory as FRER so are basically exactly the same but considerably cheaper so I'd probably trust it! Testing after lots of water won't be accurate. I hope it's a bfp for you in the morning 😊
I actually don't believe in false positives, if it has colour then it's real. I think, sadly, those who had "false positives" probably had very early losses. Just my opinion though and sort of besides the point!

xMonaL · 15/01/2021 20:59

@MrsKin90 I thought exactly the same thing until I Googled Blush Never Google I should know this by now lol! So far I've had 4 positives from 4 different brands. Granted faint but the line is definitely there, my sister checked just to make sure I wasn't imagining things lol! In so much shock I'm just not believing it! Thank you so much x

Hopefully you'll get a clearer answer in the morning 😊
"Google is not my friend" should be everyone's mantra!

xMonaL · 16/01/2021 13:14

Have had another positive from frer, still faint but a tad more noticeable than yesterday (frustrating I can't upload pics yet Blush) So purchased a clear blue digital and it says not pregnant! Feeling slightly deflated and over this yoyo emotions! I'm giving up for a week and see what happens x

MrsKin90 · 16/01/2021 13:24

@xMonaL clear blue digitals have a much higher HCG requirement. Was it a 'pregnant/not pregnant' or a weeks indicator?
The pregnant/not pregnant ones need a HCG level of 50. Answers and FRERs reportedly pick up as low as 6. 😊 So when you get a "BIG" fat positive on a line, I'd do another clear blue digital then... Speaking as someone who hasn't ever has a BFP but has stalked lots of TTC threads 😂. X

MrsKin90 · 16/01/2021 13:26

... or maybe they need 25 actually! Even so. The other ones are much more sensitive!

xMonaL · 16/01/2021 13:27

@MrsKin90 It was the weeks indicator one, there's so many now I get so confused 😂 Thank you!! I will try that. Just so confusing having now 7 faint positives and clear blue negative! You just don't know what to believe or do! X

Hi all sorry to jump on the thread. But can anyone see a line here or are my eyes not working? Partner says yes...I say no? It is a + sign one from sainsburys

PLEASE HELP! False positive?
xMonaL · 16/01/2021 14:28

@Rismoso Hey! I'm not sure I'm awful with these things!! I've been told to use a pink dye, everyone been recommending First Response. Maybe try one of those? Good luck to you!! X

MrsKin90 · 16/01/2021 14:41

@Rismoso I'd say it looks negative if I'm honest. Also Sainsbury's tests have the worst reputation for giving shadows and evaps! Definitely invest in a better test as you'll be more certain then.

@xMonaL I have PCOS too although have periods more frequently than you seem to, so I get the frustration of not knowing where you are in your "cycle" so it's not like waiting for a missed period will help you 🙄 very frustrating for you, I think there's a 48 hour rule where you can post tests after you've had an account for 48 hours so maybe post pics of your tests when you can for some visual opinions?? Might ease your doubt! If there's a line it should get stronger every 48 hours in theory. Fingers crossed for you!

Rismoso · 16/01/2021 14:44

Thanks both. Think I will get a first response to put our minds to ease. Xx

Wildflower28 · 16/01/2021 14:52

Hi all! Sorry for jumping on the post but I’m after some advice and help please!

I had a missed miscarriage last July at 10 weeks and since then my cycles have changed from a regular 28 day to a 33/34 day, although still predictable if that makes sense?!

I am now 6 days late for this months period and I did a couple of Tesco pregnancy tests, which either hold a faint positive or an evap line on both. I then did clearblue ones the following 2 days and these are both looking completely negative. Can anyone help? Could my HCG hormone not be strong enough yet or are the Tesco lines purely evap lines and there’s another reason for my missed period.

It’s so frustrating!

Hi wildflower28. I had the same last June and then a chemical back in July. So know your pain. Have you tried a pink dye test? That's what everyone is recommending on here. Good luck I hope you get lucky xx

MrsKin90 · 16/01/2021 14:59

@Wildflower28 the Tesco ones look negative to me. I'd trust the clear blue (they look like the early 6 days before period one to me?) So I'd expect them to show a line before the Tesco ones. If your period is late I'd say you've ovulated late or not at all. I'm really sorry for your loss X

xMonaL · 16/01/2021 17:22

@MrsKin90 I know! I'm trying to count back the day of conception as some sort of indicator which would have been 3/4 weeks ago! No idea what use that is 😂 I have a couple of hours left then I think I can upload pictures 🤞 Would be great to hear others opinion, I'm sending myself crazy! Starting to get hot flushes, heartburn still present and lower backache and weirdly my lower stomach feels heavy. I'm putting it down to stress 😂 x

@Rismoso @Wildflower28 Good luck please keep us updated x

Can finally post pics Grin first picture was using Always on the 14th, second picture is a Tesco and a Morrisons test on the 15th and 3rd picture is using frer today. However, after this test I've had a negative clear blue and a bit later I'm sure the Morrisons one was negative also. I would have thought more progression by now! I seem to be going back the way, so frustrating!! I am in a bit of pain tonight with lower back and lower stomach cramps, I've had this before and miscarried so I'm not really holding out for much hope that's if these tests are even right!

Fingers crossed for you. Definitely see lines x

jpclarke · 16/01/2021 22:24

Fingers and toes crossed for you, if you are in the very early days in my experience the frer are always faint. Smile

RobinRose · 16/01/2021 22:29

Oh wow! How exciting! Deffinately see lines. Fingers crossed for you OP!

xMonaL · 16/01/2021 22:48

Thank yous so much!!! It's such a relief that others are seeing this also and it's not just me going crazy 😂 I'll keep updating!

I can't definitely see lines OP!
I would recommend trying at the same time of day (morning) be cause if it is early days testing during the day may be making it hard to pick up the hormones with the irons more diluted (if that's the right word!).
I have everything crossed for you ❤️

november90 · 17/01/2021 03:26

I CAN see a line that should say 🙈❤️
