Just wondered if anyone else with long cycles has tried these? My cycles can range anywhere from 33-45 days and I've read a lot of positive things about these helping shorten cycles. I've just ordered some to try next cycle if AF ever shows up 🙄

@Littlepoppet1 Fingers crossed you get an early O again this time! I'm not going to do OPKs this month and just hope for the best. Luckily we BD most days anyway so don't think worth the stress for me.

Have you tried anything else new this month? I'm thinking of adding Pre-seed or Conceive Plus lubricant. I also added inositol + coq 10 + fish oil to my supplements.

Riverskye · 22/02/2021 10:48

@heybabes sorry to hear you had a longer cycle this month. I also took a lower dose of soy and currently on CD71 so maybe it's connected?

I'm still going to do soy next cycle but a higher dose than my last. I'm about to start a new job so hopefully that'll keep my mind off of things! I've decided if my next cycle is 60+ I'm going to go to the doctors to see if they can give me something to regulate.

Littlepoppet1 · 22/02/2021 11:27

I'm hoping so @heybabes looking good so far so 🤞
Not trying anything else new this time just going with the soy, I take a preconception vitamin too but that's all.

@riverskye CD71 is tough going I feel for you! How long have you been TTC? Def worth a chat with your GP to see if they can help at all. Fingers crossed a higher dose of soy next time helps. Congrats on the new job!

@Littlepoppet1 we've been trying since July but only had 3 cycles. I've only been able to catch ovulation once and that was in October! I'm not bothering with opks next cycle as they always show as high, going to try temping for a cycle then off to the doctors if no joy.

heybabes · 23/02/2021 09:44

@Riverskye it very well could be! And congrats on your new job, that should take your mind off things for a bit. Definitely worth speaking to GP soon though I think, maybe they need to induce your period?

I've also given up OPKs, they stressed me out so much this month for same reason as you - always high. I was not drinking or 4 hours or so throughout the day just to I could get an accurate OPK, so pointless and not healthy! So just going to temp too.

On CD2 today so taking soy again this eve! :)

Riverskye · 24/02/2021 12:26

72 day cycle and AF has finally turned up. Honestly so relieved to not be in limbo anymore and as much as I love DH a wee break from DTD will be nice! Going to take 160, 160, 160, 200, 200 this cycle on 2-6. Will be temping but no opks, try to relax more this cycle.

Kay00 · 24/02/2021 13:16

@Riverskye I'm glad to hear you AF has shown up... just so you are not sat in limbo! You are having very long cycles, hopefully the higher dose SI will help you, if not then I think you should approach your doctor and ask for your base hormones to be run, to rule out PCOS etc.

I'm CD34 here and i'm pretty sure it will be another annovulatory cycle for me. I did SI for: 100, 150, 150, 200 but it doesn't seem to have helped... but my body is also currently battling inflammation which I read can stop ovulation. So maybe I'm fighting a loosing battle haha. My plan is to visit the doctors next.

Riverskye · 24/02/2021 14:00

@Kay00 hoping for you that it's just the inflammation that's delaying things this cycle. I'm giving myself one more cycle and if it's super long/no ovulation I'm definitely going to the doctors. I know with covid and having not being trying for a full year they might brush me off but it's worth a try!

Littlepoppet1 · 25/02/2021 16:21

I've no idea what's happening with me this cycle! I had a definite obvious line on a OPK on Sunday which was CD10 but not positive and they've just gone fainter and fainter since and now hardly visible. I can only do OPKs to track as I can't temp accuratley due to to my DD waking up numerous times a night at the moment!
I haven't had my usual OV symptoms at all and no real CM other than this morning but it was creamy and thick and not fertile looking at all. I can't decide if I ovulated early and I've missed it or if it's gonna be late this time. CD14 today. Last cycle I didn't get positive OPK either just 1 strong line on CD11 but I def felt other symptoms that time.
To top it off I am full of a cold and feeling awful and we haven't managed to DTD since Sunday 😩

@Riverskye yeay I’m glad AF showed up for you, what a relief after a mammoth cycle! Hopefully this time it won’t be as bad.

I’ve done the same - 2-6 but slightly smaller dose than you. So I’ve done 120,120,160,160,200. Last time I did 80,80,80,120,160 so it’s still a much higher dose, and much earlier than last time (defo won’t do it on 5-9 again...) I’m also not doing OPKs in order to reduce stress 🙂 hope it’s our month!

Didn’t get too many side effects although with the doses over 160, I felt like I had a headache before bed and then a super deep sleep. I’ve also had slight twingey pains in both ovaries on those days which was a little concerning but might be normal!

On CD7 today and feeling more positive than I did last cycle so hopefully a good sign.

heybabes · 08/03/2021 11:32

Just checking in, hope everyone is doing ok?

CD15 for me today and no O yet. Hoping it will be at some point this week. I think I may have had fertile CM over the past couple of days but hard to tell. I've never had noticeable EWCM (since I've been TTC anyway).

The annoying thing is I'm going to see my mum this weekend (she is going to hospital for several months to have a bone marrow transplant, I haven't seen her since November when she was in intensive care) and this is when my apps are predicting I might ovulate! Classic.

Anyway, hope everyone is alright :)

Riverskye · 08/03/2021 12:32

@heybabes fingers crossed you O soon! I took 160 on days 2-6 this time, had very noticeable headaches. Currently on CD11 and I've noticed increased CM this cycle too, so here's hoping this is our month!

Kay00 · 09/03/2021 22:35

Hi ladies!

Oh wow, @heybabes, sounds like your mum has had a tough time, and it must have been difficult not seeing her all this time xx

Sounds like you and @riverskye might Ov soon. Fingers crossed for you both 🤞🤞🤞

I finally finished my first Soy cycle... with AF on CD46, but no ovulation 😔 this is my second cycle without ovulation in a row, and I think my inflammation (elsewhere in my body) is interrupting my cycles.

I'm not sure whether to give SI another go or to give my body a rest to try and get over the inflammation.

Choices choices!

heybabes · 10/03/2021 10:04

@Riverskye Fingers crossed! You deserve it after your last cycle!

@Kay00 Oh that's rubbish! I guess if you know the inflammation is causing you not to ovulate, maybe skip the soy as there might not be any point?

Yeah the stuff with my mum has been crap! She got diagnosed with leukaemia in the middle of the pandemic and has basically had to suffer by herself because of Covid. Luckily she is doing ok now and this transplant should be a cure, and hopefully I'll be able to spend some proper time with her over the summer (and I was hoping to be able to give her some good news too... like her first grandchild! Well we shall see...)

I'm CD17 now and still no signs of O! I just want a normal length cycle. I think I stress so much that it delays ovulation. At the moment I'm so on edge about ovulating I think that it's putting it off?

murmurlade · 10/03/2021 15:33

Hi everyone, I've just read this thread with interest as I have long cycles and no evidence of ovulation. Like a lot of others I am baffled by which ones to buy on Amazon.

Can I ask, did any of you discuss with your doctor about taking these, or did you just crack on? Interested to know if it's something to tell the doctor (rather than ask, obviously!) so they know what we've tried?

@heybabes so sorry about your mum, she sounds tough and hope the transplant is a total success.

Fifi1086 · 12/03/2021 09:49

Hey everyone! Any more soy BFPs? This was my first month taking it because of late O and short luteal phase. Managed to bring it forward from cd21 to cd16 so I'm thrilled 😊😊 even if this isn't my month I'm just happy to have a relatively textbook ovulation day!

Riverskye · 14/03/2021 17:25

Hi @murmurlade welcome to the thread! I didn't tell my doctor that I'm using soy but if I have to go in the future for fertility reasons I will bring it up.

@Fifi1086 so exciting for you that it managed to bring forward ovulation, fingers crossed it's your month! I'm currently on CD18 (second soy cycle) with no ovulation yet but have more CM than usual so hoping I might soon 😊

heybabes · 15/03/2021 10:00

@murmurlade Welcome! Yes I haven't told my doctor about it but I might do if still problems further down the line.

@Fifi1086 that's great! Mine hasn't done that this time... I'm on CD21 and still haven't ovulated! The only cycle I have tracked without soy I ovulated on CD20... so maybe it's having the opposite effect on me!

@riverskye Hope you ovulate soon! It's the same for me, CD21 and nothing yet but also increased CM (I've noticed EWCM for the first time ever since TTC) so hopefully we both will v soon :)

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 15/03/2021 15:20

Hi, I'm so glad I found this thread! I've just ordered soy isoflavone and taken 100 mg yesterday on CD2 (I think, I had a weird late cycle, lots of spotting). Planning 100 tonight, then 150, 150, 200. Unless anyone thinks I should take a higher dose earlier?

Really hoping it works! I read through all the BabyCentre BFP's, and so really hopeful

Riverskye · 15/03/2021 21:53

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 welcome aboard Smile I think that's a good dosage to start with. A couple of us started with lower doses and ended up having really long cycles - not sure if its connected, just something we noticed!

RoseP123 · 16/03/2021 07:11

Hi all, glad i've found this thread!

My last cycle was 30 days with O on CD21. This cycle I had O on CD21 again, currently on CD26 so if it'll be AF on Saturday if it's to follow the same pattern. Does anyone else have this?

It's made me worried that my luteal phase is so short that it will cause problems TTC, this is our first. I have ordered some SI after reading this thread so think i will take days 2-6!

Glad a lot of you have had success with your cycles after SI!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 16/03/2021 08:16

@Riverskye thanks so much. Reading this thread was why I tried this dose, was originally planning lower, so that’s been really helpful!

Someone mentioned inflammation, I don’t know much about it affecting ovulation, but I have used Berberine before (gastro related inflammation over a long time) and it really helped. I found out about it because it was being studied in the cancer trials I was researching, when my relative had cancer. You cannot use it while pregnant though so if you choose to use it, better to sit a month out while taking x

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 16/03/2021 08:20

Hi Rose, I think I have short luteal phases too since my miscarriage. I haven’t got pregnant since (5 months) so I’m worrying a bit about it also. For my miscarriage with my longer luteal phase, I fell pregnant first month. Since, my luteal phase has been four days less. Hoping this will work also 🤞

RoseP123 · 16/03/2021 12:20

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I'm sorry to hear about your MC Sad hopefully this will work for you.

I feel so naive to all the things we need to know about, luteal phases etc. This is only our 2nd month TTC but already feeling worried about things that could be wrong.
