Hi everyone,

Me and DP have been trying for our 1st and just now I got a very faint positive!
I was just wondering if anyone else had had a very faint line and was definately pregnant? I don't want to get my hopes up but I've never seen even a hint of a line any other month. . .im going to take another test but don't know weather to wait a few days? The suspense is killing me!

Any advice appreciated :)

When is AF due? Early positives will be faint if you test before you’re due your period. But that doesn’t really matter a line is a line! Congrats Flowers

Mugcake · 06/01/2021 12:22

@mamaatthegym I'm a few days late. . .AF has beem irregular so I really didn't think I was so just tested to rule it out! 🙈

Now wondering if it was a false positive so off to the shops to buy some more tests! Haha fingers crossed for another BFP! xx

Let us know how it goes. I recently got my BFP after trying for our first and would love to buddy with someone as we’re not telling family yet!

TJ17 · 06/01/2021 12:24

@Mugcake

Line should get darker as they days progress.

First wee of the day will get the best result as that's when it will be most concentrated so always best to try in the morning.

Don't be disappointed if you try again later and no line as it may just be that there isn't enough hormone for it to pick up yet.

Good luck 🤞🏻😊

mamaatthegym · 06/01/2021 12:27

Ah ok, maybe you ovulated a little later. Which brand was it? Some tend to be fainter than others. Wait a couple of days then re-test and you can see if it gets darker. X

Mugcake · 06/01/2021 12:35

@bigdreamer9 oh congratulations!! How exciting! Yes I'll definately keep you posted! Would love to have someone to chat to as well :)

@TJ17 thank you! Finger crossed! I just want to know now haha!

@mamaatthegym it was just a cheapo Tesco one so not sure if reliable? Yeah not knowing excatly when I ovulate has been a nightmare which is why I wasn't really expecting it! I was actually going to call the doctor today to see if there was anything wrong!

Ooh I used a Tesco own brand and the line was very faint. Used a FRER the next day and the line was unmistakable and came up instantly! Looking good so far, keep us posted! X

Bigdreamer9 · 06/01/2021 12:41

A faint positive is more likely a positive from what I understand. My first positive was faint but noticeable and then I looked back on my previous one and noticed it was very faint, I had just missed it. Can you post a photo?

As you can see from mine the difference in a few days can be huge so although it's so hard to not give into temptation it's deffo worth waiting a couple days sometimes (I'm talking rubbish as I was a serial tester 😂) but the sensible me is saying wait 😂

It's best to use the same test to compare lines and always first morning urine as otherwise it won't necessarily be comparable (different tests have different sensitivity etc)

Also it took me 6 days past missed period date to even get the faintest positive!

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 06/01/2021 12:51

As someone already said, a line is a line. You can't be a little bit pregnant! Of course it's still early days, but for now, you are pregnant and congratulations Smile I hope it all goes well for you.

Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly · 06/01/2021 13:15

I'm in the same boat, unsure how many dpo, but af is due tomorrow and my test is very faint :(

I’m also the same, I was due AF today, took a test this morning and it’s very faint, don’t want to get my hopes up 😩

These are deffo all positives guys 🤗

In my experience you need to be a good week or so late to get a strong line.

Wouldn't worry about how faint or dark, as PP said - a line is a line.

You aren't more or less likely to miscarry depending on line strength at this early stage.

Congrats all and here's to sticky babies SmileWineThanks

Mugcake · 06/01/2021 15:14

This is a pic, it looks like nothing haha it is darker in real life!

Glad it's not just me that's confused, I've been out and bought some more tests so will try to hold out till the morning!

Thanks Everyone for the messages :)

@ironytheoppositeofwrinkly @unicorn93 fingers crossed for you girls!! Hopefully in a couple of days we'll all be 100% sure haha

@Mugcake I deffo see it Smile

I used to be there charging the light/contrast on the photos to try and make it show up more to prove to myself I wasn't going mad 😅😂😂

TJ17 · 06/01/2021 15:16

Changing * sorry

Mugcake · 06/01/2021 15:41

Upload a pic in the morning. Good luck! 🤗

Mugcake · 06/01/2021 18:57

I couldn't wait!!

Feeling so many emotions right now. . . Shocked, scared, happy, overwhelmed.

The only thing that's worrying me us that I'm having period type pains. . Is that normal? Or a sign this little one isn't sticking around?

Congratulations!

Don’t worry about the slight cramps it’s very normal. If they increase or younger any bleeding contact your GP but otherwise try not to panic!

I spent a lot of the first half of my pregnancy saying “I’ve got period pains what if something wrong?”

And the second half “I’ve got period paints again.. do you think I’m in labour?!”

Al fun and games 🥳

TJ17 · 06/01/2021 19:04

Ahhh I love a good digital as there's no mistaking it Smile

Fingers crossed all is ok Thanks

Trying4baby2021 · 06/01/2021 19:07

I can't believe the change in a few days. I took the first clear blue at 9dpo, the free and digital at 12 dpo finally got my BFP after 11 months ttc

@Trying4baby2021 @Mugcake

Congratulations both!

Mugcake · 06/01/2021 23:12

I felt like I needed it in writing rather than guessing with faint lines haha

Congrats! @trying4baby2021 :)

@terrifiedoftrying4no2 that's reassuring, I'll try not to worry too much then and just keep an eye on it, thank you!
