11dpo and still BFN - anyone else waiting for that line

Come and keep me company whilst we anxiously test together I’m currently 11dpo, ttc my first. How’s everyone doing? How many dpo are you and when is AF due?

Lots of baby dust to us all x

Hi ladies im in a similar position but we have been trying to conceive for 10 year now with only 1 pregnancy from gonal f which we lost at 6 weeks. I gave up for about 2 yesr after ivf failed. My partner has children to previous marriage so it cost alot of money for the ivf. Anyway current situation is we are waiting to start ivf, my partner gets his st on the 19th of this month then my scan on ovaries is the 1st Feb. I have pcos by the way. So I've been tracking my ovulation and ovulated 18 days ago. Had back pain headaches and fatigue. Didn't feel my self at all this was about 6-10 po. Then this all just stopped now I have slightly tender breast and slight cramping on my right side on and off. I've done so many test and all BFN!! its so frustrating I almost forgot why I gave up but I wont this time as I know time is ticking. So its 18dpo now and still no sign of my P. (Sorry im not down with the lingo lol it feels all new to me again) this is the longest I have gone without it and I'm feeling a little swollen down there today. Im not sure what to do or how to feel right now but I may ring the ivf clinic for reassurance at the end of the week. I love to see everyone's stories and wish everyone the best of luck 💗

Hi at @acupofteamakeseverythingbetter thank you so much for your kind words. I last tested today using early dection tests from amazon and still a BFN I think I got myself excited that I obulated on day 19 of my cycle which is early but when we did the deed I defo felt sensitive and had my hopes up. But im now thinking its af coming. Checked my cervix just before and its gone very high and hard. Im about 3 days over my usual cycle time. I usualy have a 30-32 day cycle on day 36 today. Which I know can happen with pcos. Ive lost alot of weight and had to change my diet as was very ill and found out I was wheat and dairy intolerant. So I'm not sure if all that could be playing a part of it. Its just a roller coaster of emotions. We got good news today that despite being back in lockdown we can still carry on with ivf. I thought they may of cancelled and it would delay us. So I'm trying my best just to focus on ivf starting soon 🙂 ive read that some women can go weeks late with a possotive test but im not holding out for that. Sending lots of baby dust and love to you aswel 🥰

I keep having to remind myself that we’re not out until AF turns up. As you’ve lost a lot of weight that could be affecting the length of your cycle. I’m sorry I can’t be of any help, I can only advise testing every few days. These days drag anyway but being in lockdown they go incredibly slowly 🙈

I will do thank you for all your lovely words. Its reassuring having other women to talk. I think that's all I needed im having alot a cramps now so I'm expecting it will be my period. Im excited for ibf and feeling positive about it so fingers crossed. I will keep yous updated and if anyone has any questions about ivf while im doing it im happy to answere them. I caved today ladies, BFN on 13dpo with a boots 5 day early detector. I’m on cd 35 which I assume has been prolonged by folic acid fed up. Think I’ll stop that now xx

Urgh @deedee20 sorry to hear that. I take the pregnacare ones (not pre conception, just normal throughout pregnancy ones). It does contain the folic acid. I am pretty sure they lengthen my cycle too.

@DeeDee20 and @Letsdothis06 thank you ladies. I did another test tonight and my eyes played tricks I thought there was a faint line but then it disappeared 😔 so frustrating. Im still getting cramps so its just a waiting game but im holding it together knowing ivf is coming soon. @DeeDee20 i have my folic acid here ready to start taking I didnt know it prolonged cycles tho. Hang in there tho your time will come 😘

@Babyvibes thank you AF came at work but it’s weird, brown and very light when usually I’m so heavy at the start. I do not know what’s happening but since taking folic acid I ovulation 10 days later than usual and now this weird period. Will be calling GP tomorrow. So confusing and worrying.

Just waiting for GP to call back too, I’m Nhs and have been offered the vaccine so now Dont know if we should continue trying or have the vaccine. Xx

@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter thank you 😊 I'm on cd 14, had a very long cycle last month and this month I thinks it's very short, seemed to have ewcm cd 7/8/9 with sore boobs like I would during ovulation, so DTD then but didn't use opks this month no not sure, normally my cycles are 26-32 days but the last was almost 40 days and this ones off too so not sure what's going on, I'll wait and see!
As for symptoms I've had really bad insomnia for the past three nights and normally sleep like a baby! That's about it, no ovulation symptoms at the moment so think if I did ovulate it was very early!
Any symptoms for you?

@DeeDee20 sorry to hear about AF, it's so frustrating and confusing when AF is playing tricks o. You isn't it, gives you false hope!
I had a random very long cycle last month after some very promising symptoms, almost 40 day cycle ending with the worst AF ever that came on Christmas Day! AF is a real b*tch sometimes!

Welcome @Ginini. It's crazy how once you start tracking things you notice your cycle and AF are all over the place. Very frustrating.

@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter when are you planning to test? Trying very hard to hold off so when I do test it is a more conclusive result but I think I'll definitely test this weekend.

Hi @Letsdothis06 AF turned up this morning, on time at least so can’t complain. Onto the next cycle but not before I enjoy some glasses of wine this weekend 😆 I’ve just ordered the clear blue ovulation kit from Boots so I’m planning to use that this month rather than just relying on my app. I did use the cheap ovulation tests but never seemed to get a peak which was annoying. Fingers crossed for everyone who is still waiting for their BPF!! Sending you all lots of baby dust ❤️

Has anyone been using the ClearBlue ovulation kit?? Or is there anything else I should try this month? I’m trying to be really cool about the whole TTC thing but in reality I really want to give us the best possible chance each month xxx

@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter just an update mine was definitely AF and not implantation bleeding... very gutted but onto the next month :)

So i have used the clear blue ovulation kit and to be honest i dont think it actually picks up when youre most fertile... i feel like it only picks up LH in general. I used the cheao tests but tested morning afternoon and evening and stuck them down on a book.. the clear blue digital said i had ovulated on CD 15 but when i tested with the cheapies i was still negative so i kept tracking ...and my ovulation test was positive on CD 21 which is super late but i guess im a late ovulator...

But then again every body is different so it may work better for you x

One thing that really confused me was i had a positive ovulation test from CD 21 to CD23 .. are you meant to BD on all the 3 days and after or just CD 21 when it first appears? Xx

I’m still trying to get to grips with the ovulation test. For some reason the test are not obvious to me when I ovulate which is frustrating.

With regards to when to baby dance. I believe that you should be mostly DTD in the lead up to ovulation as sperm can live in you for up to 5 days so it’s best to baby dance in the lead up to ovulation so the sperm is there ready and waiting for when the egg is released. So if you ovulated on CD21 then you should be baby dancing in the bays BEFORE mostly but also on day of ovulation and a little bit after just in case if that makes sense.

Try having a look into Sperm Meets Egg Plan (SMEP) might explain it a bit better.

Once the egg is released is you only have a window between 12 to 24 hours to be fertilised that’s why it’s best to have the sperm ready and waiting in case you miss ovulation. I’m still trying to get to grips with when I actually ovulate though 😂🙈 Keep me updated ❤️ Best of luck to you xx

Also I should add that even if you baby dance at the right time there’s still a chance the fertilised egg won’t implant for one reason or another so each cycle it might not necessarily be because you missed your fertile window it could just be that it didn’t stick for one reason or another xx

@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter yeah it does :( maybe next month we will have better luck... yeah i know the ovulation sticks are a bit tricky to get your head around ...i just went ovulation stick mad testing every time i went to the bathroom haha

A lot of factors come into play, stress, diet, weight... you just dont know ... i wish we had an app that could scan the body and tell us we are ovulating 🤣

@Letsdothis06 thank you, I know it crazy I never took much notice until now! I've had terrible periods since when they first started so I went on contraceptions very young to control them better, sometimes I needed two forms (implant and pill) for a while as I'd bleed so heavily and I'd be so unwell with out it, I couldn't go to school they were so bad, so I was dreading coming off any contraception but over 10 years on and it hasn't been that bad so far!
