It’s a New Year TTC bitches and of course it’s time for a new bus...

2020 was a bit of a TWATFACE for us
2021...is surely EXACTLY the number of babies we are owed by now.

We’ve read up on what we need to do to get pregnant, if you haven’t, see last bus or read my hotly anticipated blog and join us.

@lucyrp @notyetamumbuttrying amen to that! Lucy do you think you'll mention in your announcement how long it took? I keep thinking I will but then I suck at formulating it 😅.

@notyetamumbuttrying thank you for the link! Oh had 6 beers last night to "settle his tummy " and has asked me to pick up more for his football game today so I'm def without support at home lol!

@Minster2012 you are correct!

@Juno231 I was thinking about writing something in there like "we would like to announce our long awaited ..." or "after a long wait..." something like that 🤣

Thanks for the new bus @Minster2012 wow wasn't December a good month! Nice to see a few newbies joining us, welcome all!

As for announcements it's not something I'd do as I'm not much into social media but I do think it's a good idea to share your journey a little bit if it's something you are comfortable with. Makes it all a bit more real for those seeing it and stops people making assumptions. Like you @lucyrp being so young I bet no one would imagine it has been a struggle and it's no harm getting that out there. How are you feeling now? Getting any better?

@notyetamumbuttrying oh I'm the same with not following pregnant people. I just couldn't cope with it all in the autumn, all except Rosie. I bloody love her and so excited as this is their rainbow baby too... Have you listened to their podcast (Shagged, married, annoyed)? If not then you ALL must - it's right up our street & would fit right in with this thread haha

@lucyrp don't feel bad about annoucing - you deserve this hun! It's been a long bloody wait and a very emotional road so enjoy the happiness that this pregnancy brings for you. I was guna ask the same as @Juno231... I think it's good to acknowledge the ttc struggle because we know its still not normalised.

I've already decided that when I eventually share pregnancy news I will also share about how long its taken to get there & about my MMC. I mean it's fine if people don't want to share that too obviously it's hugely personal but I'd like to. 💕

How you all doing? I’m so bloody bored. We are having to shield again as a family and it’s Driving me around the twist. Just finished playing teddies with my lol for 1 hour 40 while my dp watched bloody spurs!!
Now off to the park to freeze me tits off! My lo literally has no off switch!

@Juno231 lol typical bloke eh! Mine has no choice in the matter, no drink until after the feb appointment now.
@Sausage1990 I listen to it every Friday at like 7am when it comes out, I love it 😆 I'm late to yesterday's one though and have listened to half today!
I'll be saying our pregnancy is through ivf when and if the time comes. I might even add in a bit about being sensitive to others as you don't know their struggles. I got told to relax yesterday when chatting to an ex colleague/mate. I had to say something along the lines of relaxing won't make a difference when there's male factor infertility involved! Ppl just shouldn't always assume that all's ok just because their journey was. Difficult I know, but I want to spread this more so think I will if I'm lucky enough to make an announcement! X

@Katao yeah definitely people think it happens so easily for younger people and its just not the case ! Omg don't even go there ... I haven't been able to keep any food or drink down for the last week and I've lost 5 pounds. Ended up going to see the gp last minute on Thursday night for some anti sickness relief. Yesterdag I was still sick but later on managed to keep some food down. The gp said that if the tablets don't work I can try something else but may have to go hospital for IC fluids etc if I can't keep anything down. Feeling better and Left the house for the first time today for a stroll in the snow and obvs still feeling rough but getting by !

@Sausage1990 I know 😩😩 I don't think people will be surprised when we announce it and I say its taken a while as I've shared stuff on Facebook and hinted at things for a while now so I'm guessing some people have clicked on.

Taking my seat at the back, no testing in Jan for me! AF due 1st Feb. Moved all the pregnancy tests to the utility room downstairs, away from toilets to prevent any early testing!

Congrats to all the BFPs already in 2021!!

This month will be hectic at work with year end reporting. So I'm going to focused on that, and hopefully think less about what I'm doing with TTC...just relaxed approach to TTC, take my seven seas and have some 🍆 around mid Jan and see what happens! Oh and going to try not to use any opks as well, even tho I have lots in the house too 😂 want to obsess less, also less pressure on DH hopefully.

@Sausage1990 yes I would definitely mention any losses and long journey when sharing pregnancy news to help raise awareness on it. I don't know if I could post a pregnancy news social media post myself now though as I have witnessed so many and I find them really hard to read. You don't realise how many people following you might be going through a hard time trying and I don't want to make anyone else feel as bad as I have. I think if I posted anything I'd probably make it visible to close family/friends only.

OMG @Idreamof2more your LO will play for 1hr40?? The f ing dream. We've just watched stickman which got a rare watch actually

@lucyrp like others have said I think you can do it sensitively and I'm the same as @Sausage1990 I would def say if I were to do it but usually wouldn't. Only had to before cos if the surrogacy & my friend was actually getting awkward questions 😂and obviously we wanted to let ppl know WE were actually having a baby some way

@clolo weirdly when you posted before even with the numbers after it still came up with a notification for me saying clolo has posted then I could see it had numbers so I knew it was the same person IYSWIM???

@lucyrp sorry to hear you're still feeling awful. Did you have bad sickness with your first? Hopefully by 12 weeks you'll be feeling much better!

@2020mission yeah I had it awful for the first 3 months as that's the reason I found out I was pregnant. Although I can't remember how bad it was don't think it was this bad but like the midwife said I think our brain wipes out nausea the same it does with pain because its so bloody terrible 😩🤣 and the fact I was much younger then and had no responsibilities as such!

Is anyone else not doing dry January? 😆 I feel like 9 months of no drinking could be imminent so why put myself through the most miserable month of the year without the odd wee night of drinks!^^ Well done on the will power for those doing it though haha

@2020mission I am definitely participating in dry Jan since my body has been such a fuck boy over new year haha 😂 got to make up for lost time and all that.

@Florence13 only 7 weeks today 😩 at least another 5 of this ! 🤣

@Franklydear we've got an alright garden. It's not huge but not small. But our rescue dog (came in July) lived in an apartment all his life in Spain. So he won't go to the toilet in the garden anyway! He also won't sit outside unless you give him something to lie on. We do not sit on the ground, then you very much. 🤣 Which is hilarious because the foster dog couldn't be more opposite. But even he isn't really using the garden much.

I'm quite private so I'll probably not really announce it on SM if we ever do conceive. I had a friend though that did and she put something like- our little miracle is here and I guessed that they had struggled. Turns out they had ivf.

@2020mission I don't really drink loads but I won't be doing dry January. My birthday is this month so what a ridiculous idea! 🤣

@lucyrp aww you can get through these next 5 weeks! It might ease a bit sooner than 12 weeks too 🤞

Haha @Florence13 no judging... I tried dry January last year before the pandemic and when it was my first month TTC. I thought no caffeine and no alcohol would get me in the best condition for conceiving but soon gave up when it didn't happen!

@lucyrp oh bless you well I hope it gets easier over the next few weeks for you and the meds work.

@2020mission haha bless you, oh I remember the days full of optimism that if my OH even went near me without protection I would be pregnant.

@2020mission yeah I don't know about posting. I flip between both. I would like to but I'm so so aware of how hard it is to see. Someone I know recently shared their news without putting any scan photos or bump pics up or anything, just a candid photo of her son & a beautifully written post about her loss & current pregnancy (posting at 20wks).
I've also had a friend not make any announcements at all just shared family photos and stuff like usual and there was a bump. No attention drawn to it or anything. Just there. She actually recently had twins and bearly anyone knew it was twins even. I quite liked the discreet nature of that.

I think it all depends on how you feel at the time.

What I do know for sure is, If I'm lucky enough to get pregnant again, I'm going to tell people face to face earlier than before. Since the MMC I think secrecy isn't helpful in the bigger picture. It didn't change the outcome it just made it harder to share & made me feel more alone. The people I shared with about the miscarriage are the people I'd share early pregnancy news with... Not everyone lol. And definitely not publicly.

@notyetamumbuttrying haha Im the same. Well I was. I'm actually behind by quite alot but I'm going to catch up ASAP. Usually it's my drive to work on a Friday morning listening - great start to the day!

@lucyrp god I'm sorry you're feeling so awful. And not being able to eat & losing wieght isn't ideal... If it carries on being an issue and your weight keeps dropping (because you're already small) , drop me a private message. I often see ladies in my antenatal clinic who struggle with this so if you need any support just let me know 💕 (sorry if I'm overstepping, my dietitian head goes on when it comes to helping mum & baba do well in pregnancy) xx
