I know exactly what you mean. My youngest only stopped getting into our bed 6 months ago. Me and DH finally have some time together and life is easier.

But ...... I know I will regret it in say 5/10 years time and I think a few years of really hard work sleep deprivation etc will be worth it in the long run. I think how quickly the years have gone with my 2 children. And they’ll both be at school so that’s got to make things a little easier ? Having my second things were hard with baby and toddler but this will not be like that with just baby at home week days.....

I’ve convinced myself and DH after he was reluctant at first as he remembers how hard things were with DC 2.

I do worry about my age, complications etc and what people may think but I also think sod it it’s our family and if it’s what we all want. It will be beautiful chaos haha !

@Bec8700 yes that's the thing isn't it. It's only really a year of things being really hard and we forget it so quickly!

Mine are still very little though. My oldest is only 3.5 and she's adamant that she wants no more siblings because she wants 'mummy to myself'. But she's so good with her little brother I'm sure she'd be fine.

So you're going for it? Argh! Funny how strangers decisions can make me doubt my own!

I'm just praying for an accident. My DH is so laid back he's easy either way. I don't think he'd ever tell me if he really wanted one though as he wouldn't want to seem like he was pressuring me.

Mine are quite a bit older than yours so will both be at school. But would yours be school and maybe Pre school age ? So you could get some days just you and baby ?

My eldest says no more kids too ! So bossy, hehe but I’m sure she’d be besotted with a baby really.

My DH is pretty laid back too ha !

I think the only thing you can do is picture yourself in 5 years time with 2 and with 3 kids. Which do you see yourself as ? And how would you feel.

I think I’d never regret having a third but may well regret no having them.
Not that I’m not scared and apprehensive at the same time !

I would have really really loved a third. We have tried for a long time (3/4 years) but it has never happened and I am now 39. My kids are also 6 and 8 (would be 7 and 9 even if it happened immediately) and so I really think the time has passed now. I will forever feel sad about it, but trying instead to invest all my time and energy in the 2 I already have. I’m constantly torn between the ‘think about 10/20 years down the line for your kitchen table argument’ and feeling guilty for my current children if they missed out on experiences/ trips/ time because of a new baby. Lots of posts I read say a gap like that leaves the last feeling like an only (which many love) but I am an only and didn’t enjoy it….. so I think with sadness I will draw a line at 2 and book lots of things that would be difficult with a baby in tow.
In years to come I would think of maybe fostering and just hope that my kitchen table is full of friends and family as well as my children. It is so so tough though x
