Can someone remind me who on here knows the most about thyroid ideals for TTC? @Kay00 did you do some tests? I've just got my results and keen to understand them from a TTC perspective!

@ams19 what did they say? was it TSH, T4 and T3? For TTC TSH should ideally be under 2.5.

@Juno231 yeah all. TSH looks fine but worried my T4 is too high. It is only just in the normal range

Hi! I came off the pill in November and was the same- had no idea what to expect or look for on Natural Cycles/temp patterns. I thought my temp was pretty erratic but actually it was all good and it’s quite obvious once the app has confirmed ovulation that your temp is in fact much higher. I just had a lot of red days in my first cycle where it was telling me I was very fertile but I don’t think I was. NC is great but does rely heavily on an algorithm first one or two cycles which doesn’t take into consideration the fact that you’ve just come off the pill so it isn’t particularly accurate until it’s found your first ovulation. Definitely keep having fun times as much as poss 🤪

Keep going and recording, it seems like nothing is happening as first which I know is quite unmotivating. Don’t worry too much about temp, NC app will tell you if there are problems with your temp. Definitely second the advice that you need some pee sticks for ovulation. You will only see a spike in temp to confirm ovulation has happened, by which time the best window has passed (I think, still learning!) You can buy these through the app if you’re unsure but they are much more expensive than on places like Amazon etc. Biggest give away for me before my first positive OPK and temp spike was lots of very wet CM (TMI I know sorry!) honestly felt like I had started AF when I was out and about one day. Look for that, I had a long and anovulatory cycle first time round and felt quite disheartened but it was much easier to find and definitely happened second time round :)

Positive OPKs dont necessarily mean you are too late @ElizabethP141 @Ttcin2021 - the rise in LH means you'll likely ovulate within the next couple of days. The best days to DTD to conceive are O-2, O-1, and O day.

Because of that all, it's best to DTD every couple of days in fertile week then one you get a positive OPK, do it a few days in a row (if you can be arsed!).

Sorry I mis-read you @ElizabethP141 - you are totally right that when the temp spike happens is AFTER ovulation.

@AMS19 From what I gather T4 is less relevant than Free T4. As your FT4 is completely normal and your TSH is spot on I wouldn't worry about your Total Thyroxine. My two cents anyway, obv not a medical expert! It's all checked in relation to each other anyway I think so if you had a high T4 and low TSH then that could be indicative of hyperthyroidism but your TSH looks really good so hopefully there's nothing for you to worry about with those results :)

You get to chat with a nurse/doctor about your results through that service so that might be an idea if you're still concerned?

Thanks so much @Juno231 I was utterly failing on Google! I think I was getting myself confused with T4 and free T4. I've spoken to my GP and got myself booked in for more tests too with them just in case. And yes I'll give the nurse a call as well. But given it is in the normal range was worried I'd get fobbed off a bit. I really appreciate the insight. I'm gonna cautiously take this as I'm fine to try again and it didn't cause my miscarriage 🙏🤞

CD6 hear nothing much to report AF seems to be on her way out so time to start my first proper cycle after the pill

@ams19 I'm not able to give advice i'm afraid, I did heaps of reading around the subject when I got my results and I tied myself into a virtual knot so spoke to my doctor who sent me for further Thyroid test. My second results were completely normal (I didn't ask about T3/T4/FT4) so I just accepted that I don't have a problem... and live in hope that I don't :D

Thanks @Kay00 mine are all normal too so hopefully no issue. But also going to chat to the GP and have more blood done to be on the safe side!

I'm 4DPO, nothing much going on, no symptoms (but wouldn't expect there to be right?) Exchanged contracts on our new house today which is just the greatest relief as it's been neeeeeerve-wracking these last few weeks!! Move a week today and I have made a pact with myself not to POAS until we're in our new home! Then if it's BFN I won't be upset as can focus on new house and if BFP we get to celebrate that in our own home!

@Kay00 haha I love that draw! It looks like mine - except mine is scattered all around the house overtaking every room, pills and random pee pots hidden in all sorts of cupboards haah!

@Moocher90 looks like it's getting stronger to me than the previous days - but not positive yet
