It’s that time again, the 6th post-pill thread of ladies who are experiencing the highs and lows (mainly the lows…) of coming off the pill and TTC! Here you’ll find stories of delayed ovulation, crazy long follicular phases, crazy short follicular phases, light AFs, short luteal phases, long luteal phases, confusing temp charts and blindingly white OPKs, to name a few.

Join us, won’t you? We're a lovely bunch and we'd love to help you make sense of post-pill life if we can!

@mrsmacmc you can definitely get away with building the bed, I’ve been known to do my housework during mouse wiggles 😂

@crabette I’m with you on the holiday for this year! OH’s parents live abroad so even if we just manage a little break there would be enough

TheDaydreamBelievers · 04/01/2021 12:15

@crabette I'm the first person she told and I'm really glad she has.

In terms of telling people about BFP - I told her at 6 weeks, parents and PIL at 9 weeks, others at 11 weeks. Theres only a couple of people I wish I hadn't told. Overall I've appreciated the support

Kay00 · 04/01/2021 12:28

@TheDaydreamBelievers Sad that must have been very difficult xxx

@Juno231 My partner doesn't drive a car (just a motorbike) so I need to try and persuade him to take lessons. He says their's no point because I can drive... but that means I have to do all the driving all the time! Hmm

@mrsmacmc haha, I love a bit of DIY, so i would definitely be doing that on the sly Grin

Juno231 · 04/01/2021 13:56

@crabette @TheDaydreamBelievers haha I think I can count 6 people (other than you girls!) that will probably know before OH finds out (poor OH, I promise it's because I want to do a nice reveal for him). We chat daily and they know all about my struggles and ask for updates each cycle. When one of them got her bfp in March it was me that told her to test and I got to know the results before her OH... Like I said, it's the very public FB type announcements that make my eyes twitch.

@kay00 hahah well you tell him when you have kids it'll make life a lot easier to have 2 people to ferry them about! And he's never going to have more time to do it than now pre kids...

@crabette where are you thinking holiday wise? I'll have 32 days to take this year and can't even begin to imagine going on one, it all seems so far away and unlikely atm :(. I keep thinking I'd have loved to have used last year/this year for some big far flung holidays that would have been difficult to execute once I have a baby. Like when on earth am I gonna have a chance at going to eg Peru?

@Rd123 ooh good luck!

@ChinChilly oh no that's awful! And even worse to have to face all the admin for it now! Hope the pain fades soon 🤞🏻 just seen about your 13dpo and spotting, are you going to test? Sorry if I've missed it and you already have!

@Juno231 yeah I can understand that. You're the only other person I know (other than myself!) To have Bartholin's cysts. Most people look at me like I'm mad haha, even my GP had no idea! Glad you've got your peak reading now and your 'poor OH' comment made me giggle as it reminded me that our OHs are the same in terms of reluctant to DTD so need warning 😂 I actually told mine last night that we could be trying again in as soon as 4 or 5 weeks depending when the miscarriage starts! 😂 Think that's fair warning.

@Flowers222 good luck in the TWW 🤞🏻

@Kay00 your crash sounds awful too! I find motorway driving scary enough without having had an experience like that so I can understand how it would have taken a while for you to get back to it! I'm lucky me and OH both drive.

Holidays for this year... Especially with the MC I'm dying to run away and spend at least a week poolside and baking in the sun! We have a center parcs trip booked in May and that might have to suffice (if it's not cancelled!!). Went for a long walk earlier and went via the seafront, it's not quite the same as being in the Dominican though 😂

@LauraT94 I tested on the 1st I had a faint line/evap on 2 tests then BFN the next day then the spotting started so I haven’t bothered testing again. I know the admin is a ball ache and I’m really hoping they don’t write my car off I’ve only had it 4 months and it’s fairly new but it is abit of a mess. Ahh atleast you have nice sea fronts, just manky canals and ponds round here 😂

Juno231 · 04/01/2021 14:50

@LauraT94 hahaha yes re OHs!! I haven't mentioned anything this FW so far to see if it makes a difference but I think he knew anyway. Wasn't gonna say anything today either but sounds like he's having a horrendous first day back at work (he's not had lunch yet) and will be working late. So I figured if I try and make it spontaneous that will 100% be shut down so whatsapped him to save some energy for nookie tonight Grin. If your OH is like mine I think you'll need to remind him of the the upcoming FW every week until it happens, lest he'll claim it's taken him unawares!

Wow that dreary view!

Flowers222 · 04/01/2021 15:23

@mrsmacmc I would definitely build the new bed frame. I have been known to do some cleaning or painting and diy on mouse wiggle days.

@Juno231 @LauraT94 I am definitely with you in the OH situation. I end up getting stroppy with him every FW. I always need to give him notice, which when very irregular has been difficult! I tried being spontaneous as I didn't want to put the pressure on and it really didn't work. It's when he asks 'can't it wait until tomorrow' NO! 🙄

Juno231 · 04/01/2021 15:48

@Flowers222 hahahahaha yes! Mine goes "OMG again?!" or sighs. there's been quite a few cycles where he haven't actually DTD on ovulation day because he was just "too tired". Infuriates me each time considering what an easy ride he gets with this TTC malarkey.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 04/01/2021 16:02

@Juno231 I agree on the very public announcements. A blogger I follow recently announced at 10 weeks and given my recent experience I was like eeeeek. Luckily she is now a lot further on and all seems well

TheDaydreamBelievers · 04/01/2021 16:03

Ps @Juno231*@Flowers222 @LauraT94* I'm pretty sure the time we conceived in sept is a time we really didnt want to but did anyways cause of the fertile window! So worth doing it anyways

crabette · 04/01/2021 17:05

@Juno231 Oh I know exactly what you mean about trying to get a far flung non-baby-friendly holiday in! 😂 I just want some sun at the moment though, similar idea to you @LauraT94, baking poolside somewhere! Probably Greece. We'd half thought, if we can go at all, of just organising getting married while we're there on the quiet... we had 3 wedding postponements last year, so we've kind of given up on the getting married front for now while we TTC! Might be nice to do it on hol though as a surprise, keep it relaxed and just us, pre-baby.

My OH is frustrating with the DTD on demand too 🙄😂🙈 Give me strength, surely most guys would be delighted to have this problem!! He's perked up lately with it due to being back working / off furlough, which I think had him really down - he's been really enthusiastic the last couple of weeks and I've been pleasantly surprised. Though been trying to balance encouraging him while also reminding him that DTD at the moment is not contributing to baby making at all lol, so he'll still be expected to perform during FW!! The enthusiasm is promising though so I'm a bit more hopeful for this month! 💪

Juno231 · 04/01/2021 18:41

@crabette haha so that's exactly how we ended up in Sicily in Sep - just wanted to bake by the pool in the end. For that exact reason I think we've both got Greece on the back burner for this year as well...

and lol I worry about non FW enthusiasm too! I think last cycle OH was weirdly in the mood JUST BEFORE FW and we BD'd 2-3 days in a row only for FW to start and him not wanting to anymore.

My OH is a pest, when I was on the pill and had zero sex drive it was a right pain!

Still no AF, I’ve had a pad on all day and there is not a drop on it just pinky/brown cm when i wipe! No cramps, no sore boobs, no PMT...nothing

Mol234 · 04/01/2021 19:44

Hey all, just catching up on the thread today! I’m glad I’m not the only won who’s OH isn’t the most cooperate when it comes to BD! It’s the scheduled element that is most disliked 🤣 otherwise it’s fine!

These posts have got me thinking how I’d announce my BFP - I always thought I’d wait to tell family until 13 weeks but maybe I wouldn’t... hmmm! Will see how I feel when the time comes!

I had another slight temp rise this morning so if I have another tomorrow it should confirm ovulation. My nips have been so sore for the past 3 days (sorry TMI) so hopefully that’s a good sign! I also had my bloods done this morning and have an appointment booked with the doctor to discuss the results in 2 weeks time.

Rd123 · 04/01/2021 19:44

@ChinChilly sounds like implantation spotting! Fingers crossed for you.. what CD Are you? Sorry if you said before I’ve a few messages to catch up on!

Moocher90 · 04/01/2021 19:45

@ChinChilly have you tested again? U got a cheapie u can check with?

ChinChilly · 04/01/2021 19:49

@Rd123 @Moocher90 I tested on 1st and had what must of been an evap as the 2nd was a BFN I’m CD31 13DPO so probably too late for implantation plus mr RHR is dropping 😕

Moocher90 · 04/01/2021 19:51

@ChinChilly fair enough. Strange that the period has not come yet as usually you are very regular from memory?

ChinChilly · 04/01/2021 19:56

@Moocher90 yeah fair regular, AF was late last month but im pretty sure I had a chemical.

Would you ladies say these are regular cycles?..im currently on CD31 so December’s hasn’t logged on there yet

Post Pill TTC - Rave on
Moocher90 · 04/01/2021 19:59

@ChinChilly
You are generally between 27-32 days I would say that is regular.

Mol234 · 04/01/2021 20:32

@ChinChilly I would agree, looks pretty regular. Is it possible you ovulated later than you thought?

ChinChilly · 04/01/2021 20:41

@Moocher90 @Mol234 thanks both, according to premom I ovulated CD18 but I think the OPK on CD18 look darker than 17 which it has at peak.

Evening ladies, hope everyone is well? Smile

I think I'm CD1 this evening. I've had the slightest bit of brown spotting yesterday and today but I've had some red tonight.

Does anyone else find that they start AF or spotting before their bbt has dropped below the coverline? I'm wondering if my temperature will drop properly and that's when I'll have a full days flow. It's very light at the moment.

@ChinChilly your day 18 opk definitely looks dark enough to be a peak to me. You may not have ovulated until 24-36 hours after that so you might not be as far along as 13dpo? Fingers crossed for you!

Mol234 · 04/01/2021 21:04

@ChinChilly yeah I wonder if you ovulated a bit later (say cd19 or 20) - I guess you’ll find out over the next few days but may be worth doing another pg test just in case

@FlyingGiraffe I can’t comment I’m afraid as I haven’t had an AF yet post pill however I did think that your temp tended to drop before AF turned up? Maybe it’ll turn up properly tomorrow
