It’s that time again, the 6th post-pill thread of ladies who are experiencing the highs and lows (mainly the lows…) of coming off the pill and TTC! Here you’ll find stories of delayed ovulation, crazy long follicular phases, crazy short follicular phases, light AFs, short luteal phases, long luteal phases, confusing temp charts and blindingly white OPKs, to name a few.

Join us, won’t you? We're a lovely bunch and we'd love to help you make sense of post-pill life if we can!

@Moocher90 ah sorry, with your temps being on the low side I didn't realise you'd ovulated 😅. I thought you kept trying to decipher them to see if you had!

@TheDaydreamBelievers fingers crossed something is about to happen!

@Mol234 that 8.36am one is literally stronger than the control line - how is it not registered as peak!

Evening all!

Wasn't meant to be for me this time, it's a missed miscarriage.

Had scan on 24th which showed I was 5.5 weeks (should have been 6+3). Private scan today (9 days later) shows sac and fetal pole at 6 weeks and no heartbeat.

Will wait for it to pass naturally for now, but may accept medical management when I see EPU on Thursday.

Sorry I've been so distant, with the bleeding and the anxiety I've just not felt up to keeping up with the threads!

Will have a good read through and catch up on all your journeys and be joining you back here hopefully before too long! Xx

@LauraT94 so sorry to hear this news - hope you’re ok as can be right now. X

Juno231 · 02/01/2021 22:10

@LauraT94 so many hugs your way ❤️. I'm so sorry this happened to you, please be kind to yourself xxx

@Kay00 just realised I missed your earlier question. It could be ovulation bleeding or could be a bruised cervix? What they call cervical erosion I think? I'd use the temp adjuster on today's temp BTW to make sure you don't mess up the pattern during the FW.

Tillybabs · 02/01/2021 22:28

@LauraT94 very sorry to read your news. I hope you’re ok x

Kay00 · 02/01/2021 23:12

@Laurat94 im so sorry to hear this news 😔 sending all my love to you and your partner ❤

@juno231 I adjusted the temp down to 36 degrees exactly and added it to my chart. Im OPKs are still negative but I am having a dizzy episode (new to me) so hopefully that means my hormones are doing something. The bleeding has stopped so ill add it to my chart as spotting, thanks for your help (again)!

Juno231 · 03/01/2021 09:09

@Kay00 I hope something appears on the opks soon! Mine are back to showing two lines today so 🤞

@Robyn101 maybe try the app? It's pretty self explanatory - if you check my attached pic you can see there is literally a button for the charts at the bottom. The only thing I can think of is that it's confused by your lack of AF!

@juno231 my OPK was at 37% at 6pm but I was unable to test any later as I piddled every half hour until bedtime 😆🙄

Temp was constant this morning so nothing exciting there... and my dizziness continues. I thought this could be an ovulation/surging or dropping hormones symptom, but it seems not that common on the Internet.

Have any of you lovely ladies experienced dizziness around ovulation??

@robyn101 for longer cycles FF will stretch out the chart but it might be struggling with your 100+ days 😒

CD2 for me today! Still bleeding but light and by the evening it tapers off and then is usually back in the morning. I’m going to vaginally temp this month and will test at the end of my period as this last cycle was 19 days long which is just not good enough :/ ... ordered the ovusense too to try out.

FlyingGiraffe · 03/01/2021 09:53

Hi girls, do you mind if I join please? Smile I would love to talk to people in a similarly confusing world of ttc after the pill! I think the OH is a bit fed up of me talking opks and luteal phases now!
A bit about me - I've been off the pill for 7 months now, actively trying since August. Up until this month I've been ovulating late around day 19-24, and started spotting as early as 5dpo. This month though, I ovulated on day 13 and am currently 11dpo, which is by far the furthest I've gotten to without spotting! My bbt is going down slowly and I've had a negative frer already on 9dpo so not expecting that to change. This ttc malarky is so confusing though!

Moocher90 · 03/01/2021 10:06

@FlyingGiraffe welcome!

Yes we are all in the same position of TTC and at different cycle lengths, LPs etc. Do you bbt? Check cervical position, get cervical mucus around ovulation. Are you taking any vitamins? Folic acid Vit D3 etc xx

It’s a tough ride and is very frustrating waiting for cycles to normalise post pill and to actually conceive.

FlyingGiraffe · 03/01/2021 10:28

Hi @Moocher90 thanks for the welcome! I only started bbt last month to confirm I actually ovulate, which FF seems to think I do (it doesn't 'spike' as well as I was hoping for!) I take vit d, folic acid and 1000mg of vitamin C daily. I only started that last month so am wondering if thats helped regulate things? I was taking 100mg vit b6 and b12 for two month prior and it didn't seem to help at all - I gave up when I ovulated on day 24 and started spotting on day 5! I'm really hoping my next cycle doesn't go back to that! How long have you been off the pill for? Are your cycles regular yet?

ChinChilly · 03/01/2021 10:29

Welcome @FlyingGiraffe yep we are trying to figure out our cycles post pill here! 😂

@Kay00 I don’t recall any dizzy spells around ovulation!

My second COVID test came back negative YAY! Two BFNs in one day 😂😂 I’m on two minds whether to have a few months off tracking completely or get a thermometer and so the whole BBT thing 🤔

Moocher90 · 03/01/2021 10:40

@FlyingGiraffe I came off the pill at end of august however prior to that was on the injection, so far my cycles are irregular. Spanning from 6 weeks to 19 days. And 2 periods also back to back....
I bbt and take loads of different vitamins too.

Bodies are confusing things! I hope it balances itself out on the next few months.

A lot of us have had a raised thyroid after coming off the pill and also some have had high prolactin which causes or lack of a period. Some of us have also done the hormone and thyroid tests from online providers to see if there are any issues that may effect fertility. I think if I don’t become regular in the next 2 months or so I will book a GP appointment as 19 days which is my last cycle is not sufficient and anything under 21 or over 35 is possibly anovulatory cycles.

Robyn101 · 03/01/2021 10:45

I think you’re right @kay00 and @juno231 the app just doesn’t understand that it’s been so long so definitely one for next cycle I think 😅 on the plus side I had a spike this morning and the femometer app has confirmed ovulation was on 30th and has a cover line now so fingers crossed I’m in the TWW

Weirdly I have had a couple of dizzy spells @kay00 , nothing major and just attributed it to getting up too fast or something but strange that you’re having them too

Kay00 · 03/01/2021 11:32

@flyinggiraffe Welcome! I also came off the pill 7 months ago and have been actively trying since August. My cycles are a little all over the place too (ovulation anywhere fro. CD18 to CD34). I found my LP lengthened after I started a high dose B-Complex.

@robyn101 hmm so odd. I have been constantly dizzy (even when sat down or laying down) since yesterday afternoon. Im meant to be driving a couple of times later today... not sure im up to it 😕

Robyn101 · 03/01/2021 12:00

@Kay00 Yehh mines definitely just occasionally. The only time I’ve ever had prolonged dizziness was when I had anaemia or vertigo. Are you iron levels good?

Cams50 · 03/01/2021 13:07

@ChinChilly that’s good about the negative covid test!

@Robyn101 exciting about your tww 😃

@FlyingGiraffe welcome! That’s great about your lp and no spotting this cycle. Fingers crossed your cycles are settling or it’s a bfp 🤞🏻 I also have short lps and spotting in a lot of cycles so I understand how frustrating it is.

@Moocher90 sorry about your af 😔 I think a positive of a short cycle is that at least you can start afresh on the new cycle quickly. I’m also taking tonnes of vitamins. I don’t know if any of it helps or not. Just when I think my cycles are settling I’ll have another weird one. I might do this for another few months and if nothing happens by then I might have a break from everything and see if that helps 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Juno231 eek hopefully you get your peak soon!

@Kay00 hmm I’m not sure about the dizziness but hopefully it goes away for you soon x

crabette · 03/01/2021 13:13

@LauraT94 😢💔 So so sorry to hear your news. Sending lots of love to you and your partner ❤️ We're all here if you need to chat.

crabette · 03/01/2021 13:14

@FlyingGiraffe Welcome to the chat 😊 I came off the pill in July, though we were using Natural Cycles to still be 'careful' until October / November time.

I'm calling today CD1, as I have unbearable cramp and some red(dish) blood on wiping. Put a pad on but still not feeling at all like a normal period flow, which is annoying when my cramp feels like I should be having the heaviest period ever.

I've ordered Clearblue Advanced Fertility OPK's this month, pack of 20. I'm struggling to catch my peak with the femometer strips, so going to see if these make a difference - interesting that they suggest using first pee of the day rather than waiting til the afternoon? Does anyone else use these?

P.S. @Kay00 I've never noticed dizziness - hope you're ok! Sounds horrible.
