I'm currently 23 wks pregnant with no 2.

@SazCat me too! We must have a very similar due date Smile

positivevibes88 · 23/12/2020 21:22

Thank you all. It's been interesting to see there's such a variation and given me a bit of hope that it will happen eventually and it's not because I'm older or anything being wrong (I hope!) x

In 33 and we conceived in the first cycle- very early days though so let’s see how it goes. Fingers crossed it will be okay

Thisisbananas3 · 23/12/2020 22:09

Should have said I’m 33.. Blush

SpeckledyHen · 23/12/2020 22:11
  1. months at 38 and 1 month at 40 .
Charlab · 23/12/2020 22:19

I'm 33 and conceived in my first cycle. I came off the pill in April, having been on it pretty much solidly since I was 17, but we used protection and waited until my cycles had regulated before trying this month. I'm very early currently, due around 30th August.

GlennRheeismyfavourite · 23/12/2020 22:19

1 month with baby 1, 18 months with baby 2

WalkingMeAway · 24/12/2020 08:36

1st baby - 10 cycles/12 months (age 27) was charting etc
2nd baby - 1 month (age 34) no charting just stopped using protection
3rd pregnancy (12w pregnant) - 1 month (age 38) same as above.

Strange isn’t it?

A very close friend tried for 2/3 years and had her first baby via IVF, second baby was born within a year naturally !

positivevibes88 · 24/12/2020 12:08

Thank you all, it's an eye opener! I spoke to my mum and she took 9 month to have me age 20 (I'm an only child) so it just goes to show that age doesn't always mean you'll catch sooner either! She said she was surprised when I told her how quick I conceived DS x

@Ponyolikesham

I feel your pain. I’m in a similar boat. DC1 was conceived in the first cycle, 3 years ago when I was 30.

Now I’m 33 and we’ve been trying for DC2 since March (currently cycle 10). I wonder what’s changed between now and then? Maybe it’s luck, or maybe it’s the fact that I’m so much more stressed and unhealthy than I was 3 years ago... working full time with a toddler etc. I have regular periods but I’m still breastfeeding so I wonder if that is also having some effect.

That sounds very similar to us! I'm wondering if being more stressed and tired does contribute. Also the fact DS goes to sleep late and wakes up early at the moment isn't helping either! x

Mine were so random!

DC1 - pregnant while on the pill!
DC2 - 4 months but had an early miscarriage then a further 3 months
DC3 - first attempt

There is no rhyme or reason to it at all in my case and actually when trying for DC2 I was at my lowest weight and fittest I had been in a long time. It does feel like a slog when you are the midst of it though.

ToffeeAppleCaramel · 24/12/2020 12:31

Just over a year, 33 when we started trying.

SendHelp30 · 24/12/2020 12:33

DD - 1 month
DS - 2 years 5 months
DS - 2 months

No idea what happened in between DD and DS but it was a very difficult time

grandmasterstitch · 24/12/2020 12:37

DS took us 18 months. I was 27/28 and DH was 26. Decided to try for number 2 just over 2 years after he was born expecting it to take at least a year and I was pregnant the first month. I would say we did nothing different to the first time and it was just luck (although I have strong suspicions about an undiagnosed thyroid issue) it's just one of those things unfortunately

DulcedeLecheCaffeLatte · 24/12/2020 13:02

I had to reply as we were in a very similar situation. Conceived our first at 29 on the first cycle. Started trying for our second aged 32 thinking it would only take a few cycles, in the end it took us 8months in total (and one miscarriage after 6months) which I understand still isn't very long, but it was starting to affect me. My periods did change after my first pregnancy and I wonder whether that had an effect (and I had an emergency c section). But the likelihood is you will conceive again and hopefully within a year of trying.

Sarahplane · 24/12/2020 14:55

1st was an accident - only took 1 missed pill but then I was 19.
2 nd too 6 months
Currently trying for number 3, have been trying to 8 months now but I'm 35

orangeicecream · 24/12/2020 14:57

Ttc#1 me aged 28.....14 months
(not) ttc#2.....first dtd after number 1 was born.

No rhyme nor reason to the differences.

Good luck
