Ds has said tonight that a boy in class has told him that Santa is not real and parents buy the presents, his counterargument, he would hear us coming into his room (true, ninja skills perfected) and we don't have the wrapping paper Santa uses, normally wrap in grandma's house so I don't buy the paper, this year I bought new one here, he hasn't seen it
He is 10 and proper believes, will tell him next summer, won't let him go to secondary school believing, but I need to research how to tell autistic children, his two autistic classmates properly believe too, I am coordinating telling him with one of the other mums, Ill have to check if the other one wants to join in, cos they will tell each other

@Franklydear definitely worth telling before high school as I was an only child and still believed when I went to high school, wasn't something that was discussed really but was in an R.E class one day and read it in the text book and had to leave the room I was so upset 🙈

@Franklydear I think ours were always addressed from people but we thought santa bought them. Nothing wrong in saying some are from santa though either. But not what they did on that aibu post! Just rude. Agree about your son. Most kids will know by secondary school. @lucyrp that's terrible!
I think I knew before. I remember being in fords family store with mum and her sister and my cousins. My cousin told us in there. My brother is 3.5 years younger than me. It was carnage and mum was not happy at all. 🤣

In proper catholic tradition, los Reyes bring most of it ( except this year cos why wait for presents on top of everything else) Santa brings one main thing and chocolate, ds reasoning this year Santa knows we’re here cos he watches the news and knows there’s no planes and don’t worry, he’ll wear a mask, this is kid that in hospital interrogate the doctors about how they got to the diagnosis and how the medicines are supposed to work, he wants to understand and so far people are happy to oblige, encourage love of science
