I know this is very unlikely but I would just like some other peoples opinions.
I started to take the pill a couple of months ago as my fiancé and I are getting married in six months time and although we want kids, I would prefer to not be pregnant at the wedding. I believe I have been taken it correctly and that we waited long enough for it to be in my system before having unprotected sex but for the last couple of months I've had this feeling like I have a cold coming but it's never actually turned into a full on cold. I've also been bloated and feel like the pouch at the bottom of my stomach is a bit bigger as well as my boobs. Obviously this could just be that I've put on weight but I'm not eating anything out of the ordinary and I'm moving around more than I usually would so wouldn't think I would have gained weight. I've also been feeling sick in the afternoon / evenings and been having headaches for about a week.
My boobs have also been really sore over a month now.
I had a small bleed once I'd been taken the pill for a couple of weeks (which is roughly when my period naturally would have fallen) and then a period like bleed during my pill break a week later and then another period like bleed in my next pill break.

I know it is unlikely that I'm pregnant but I would like some other people's opinions to stop me being crazy and I'd also like to know if anyone has had these sort of symptoms after starting taking the pill.

It's difficult to say for sure.

If you waited 7 days after starting it before having unprotected sex and if you've been taking it correctly since then you shouldn't be pregnant. However the pill isn't 100% effective so there's always a chance.

All the symptoms you've described definitely could be your body adjusting to being on the pill, however if I were you I'd do a pregnancy test just to rule it out. You'd have a super strong positive by now if you were pregnant so it's probably going to be the best way to get complete peace of mind.

Garman · 13/12/2020 18:24

Have you taken a test?

Emae26 · 13/12/2020 19:13

@Curiosity101 thank you so much for your response. I did plan on popping to the shops today but forgot it was sunday and that shops shut early today 🤦‍♀️ definitely plan on getting one tomorrow
@Garman not yet, plan on getting and taking one tomorrow

Only way to know is a test

miracleatchristmas · 13/12/2020 22:38

I'd take a test to know for sure. Fingers crossed for the result you want - whatever that may be ❤️

Emae26 · 14/12/2020 12:31

Negative as expected. Our bodies really do do crazy things!
Thank you everyone for your help!

@Emae26 Personally I'd class that as an invalid test. To me it looks like it could be a faint positive if it wasn't invalid.

debbs77 · 14/12/2020 13:25

That looks positive to me???

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 14/12/2020 13:26

Defo looks like a faint line to me OP

JLQ1020 · 14/12/2020 13:27

Looks like either invalid or positive to me.

ineedabreak1 · 14/12/2020 13:30

I agree. Looks like the test has flooded a bit but it does look positive! She so

Emae26 · 14/12/2020 14:14

Oh okay, thought it was negative 🤦‍♀️ so glad I posted! I will buy another to see. Thank you everyone

This is the last picture I took which is a bit clearer and looks more negative to me. What do you all think?

Take a test. It's very unlikely you're pregnant but a test will reassure you. x

jessstan1 · 14/12/2020 14:25

I see you have taken a test. Do another one.

Emae26 · 14/12/2020 15:08

@jessstan1 does the latest picture look any clearer to you?

what do you guys think of the last photo I took? Does it look any clearer to you?

If in any doubt I would pay for a clear blue digital one. I know they're a rip off but a lot easier to interpret as they literally day "pregnant"/"not pregnant" and no of weeks. I think the line on the other type tends to be a bit ambiguous and could cause confusion but that's just me

Mekalahb · 14/12/2020 16:19

@Emae26 Those symptoms are exactly how I felt when I was on the pill, they're pretty normal the first couple months. I switched birth control 3 different times. 🤦🏼‍♀️

However my sister got pregnant on the pill with her first. She was on it for 2 months, and it was because she either wasn't on it long enough for her body to adjust before going unprotected, or it wasn't a high enough hormone dose.

I would def take a clear blue. Maybe even consider talking to your doctor about switching pills if you continue feeling bad after a few months. it's worth it!

Curiosity101 · 14/12/2020 16:22

@Emae26 That last picture looks much clearer. Definitely looks negative. 👍🙂

wildraisins · 14/12/2020 16:26

Go for a blood test if you're still not sure.

If you are pregnant and still taking the pill it could harm the baby's development so you need to find out asap.

Emae26 · 14/12/2020 17:10

I was looking at the time on each of the pictures and I'm now not sure if the last picture was taken outside of the time window so may need to be discounted... going to pick up another test tomorrow I think. Feel like I'm being stupid but also have this gut feeling. Probably just being an idiot

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 14/12/2020 17:12

Taking the pill is very unlikely to have any harmful effects whatsoever on a developing foetus. So don’t panic OP.

Emae26 · 14/12/2020 17:28

@GingerAndTheBiscuits I had a quick google in a panic! Thank you for reassuring me!

Feeling really sick tonight. Trying not to work myself up too much to make sure that's not what's making me feel this way!
