Also how long does an LH Surge last usually mine is gone within a day and have never been higher than 0.81 but just did an OPK and line is darker than C line and a high reading too. So think I’ll be 1 dpo tomorrow 🤔 I’m really not sure lol. Will test again around 4pm

@Dex1521 based off your temperatures I would say you’ve already ovulated since it went up this AM? I looked this up before and it says you can ovulate between 12-24 hours after the initial surge, some sources said depending on your body, you might ovulate a couple of hours after the initial “high” reading, which looks to be your case?

Also I get ovulation pains, it’s like a really strong stitch (as if I went running after food) and is normally on one side! Always seems to be my right side which makes me think my right ovary does all the work! 🤣

@DrS44 Hang in there.. I feel your pain! 😢

Dex1521 · 11/01/2021 13:13

@positivitytree2020 this is on my left side so at least my left one works - wonder if it’s because I’m left handed 😂

@DrS44 just saw your message! Sorry missed it at the bottom of the other page. is this the first cycle this has happened for you?
I was trying to think what it could be and wondered do you have thyroid problems? I don’t want to put bad images/info in your head but I got tested for under active thyroid last January turns out I didn’t have it but I was reading up at the time and remember it said that under active thyroid can affect ovulation.

But if this is just a one off cycle it’s probably nothing to do with that. Really hoping it comes around for you soon! Keeping everything crossed for you xx

Bells20 · 11/01/2021 15:27

@PowerOfFlowers I'll defo check out the baby suite. Feeling reassured after my booking appointment this morning though, was fortunately able to have it in person and being given a folder that says 'maternity notes' definitely makes it all feel a bit more real!

@Foxl2222 I would definitely tell your manager, it is early but you want to make sure you feel safe with whatever work you're doing. I think the royal college of obstetricians and gynae say you can work on a ward until 28 weeks but I think it depends on what you feel comfortable with too. My risk assessment was pretty informal, and the outcome was that I'd be fully working from home for the foreseeable. @jessi60 works on wards too I think, she might have some advice x

@Dex1521 yes look at that peak!!! Fingers crossed for those crosshairs soon to confirm but defo looks like youve ovulated! @DrS44 @Emmgrem hope yours happens soon girls!

@positivitytree2020 sorry if I've missed a post from you earlier but how are you getting on? Did AF arrive?

positivitytree2020 · 11/01/2021 15:32

@Bells20 yes AF arrived yesterday so on CD2 now! 🥳 just glad that cycle is over now it dragged! 😂

jessi60 · 11/01/2021 18:09

@Foxl2222 I’m a nurse and work for the nhs. You just have to have a risk assessment at 28 weeks and think you have to leave work then. That’s what girls did on my unit, the options were work from
Home which you can’t as a nurse or non patient facing which again that’s not possible in my job so they just had to leave and be on full pay but basic with no enhancements until their maternity started. I’m not going to tell my manager until after my 12 week scan, it is quite hard cause we give slot of cytotoxic drugs and certain nebulisers which you can’t be around when pregnant so spend my days dodging what I can without it being obvious 🤣🤣 xx

jessi60 · 11/01/2021 18:10

I have my midwife appointment on Thursday but she rang me and said it would be over the phone but then I have to go in the next door for my bloods. Doesn’t really make sense for the phone appt when I have to go in the next day 😂 but never mind Xx

jessi60 · 11/01/2021 18:12

@Greeneyedfairy I deffo think October is a lovely month for a birthday aswell. Feel like I’m drawn to it aswell for god knows what reason 😂 but then when it comes to it I was like god I’ll take any month 🤣🤣 xx

Dex1521 · 11/01/2021 20:49

Making a pact with myself....no testing until 10dpo as Im not ending up the mess I was last cycle. I only have two FRERs and refusing to buy anymore.

I’m counting tomorrow as 1dpo as I had two peaks but also I big temp incline this morning so feel like I’ve ovulated somewhere between yesterday and today. Just hoping for temp increase these next few days and then the crosshairs to appear

@jessi60 definitely something special about that month think it’s the change of seasons and it just generally a nice sounding month 🤣 although I checked my EDD if this cycle goes ahead and my due date is my mums birthday that would be some present for her...but need to stop getting ahead of myself and focus on the hear and now

Foxl2222 · 11/01/2021 22:05

@Bells20 @jessi60 @GreenApplesYo thanks ladies! I have my GP appt on Monday so will ask what they think, my ward before last week was covid so I definitely would have said something then, but now that it's not I think I'll hold off until symptoms might be obvious then say to my manager. Gosh I'd love to be off with full pay from 28weeks 😅

Booked my private scan today too 🙊 3rd of feb where I'll be 7+6 by my calculation ☺️

Yay @Dex1521 now the exciting part!! Come on here and vent when you are tempted by poas lol everything crossed for you! Xx

Dex1521 · 12/01/2021 07:09

Yep I’m definitely in the tww so gonna mark today as 1dpo I get so nervous taking my temp at this part of my cycle Incase it doesn’t go to plan but seems everything is ok and now I’ve just got to wait it out

POAS Anon Christmas Party 🌲🧑‍🎄 Ho ho ho-ws your line progression?! Thread 3
Emmgrem · 12/01/2021 09:01

@Dex1521 eek you should get your crosshairs tomorrow 🤞 but that is looking good!
And if you dare test before 10DPO this time we will be here to tut at you 😂😂

Meanwhile I'm over here still waiting for an OPK to show a decent second line! So impatient! I should probably test twice a day now I guess but I feel like I'm wasting money, and if I have so much as one cup of tea during the day my pee is practically clear all afternoon 🙈 it's miserable not being able to have nice hot drinks when it's cold!

Dex1521 · 12/01/2021 09:29

@Emmgrem I feel like if I test before 10dpo you’ll hunt me down personally and shake me 😂 I know what you mean I love a good cup of tea when working I’m gonna test again today and if it’s low then that’ll be me as I struggle with this not drinking for hours on end especially this cycle for some reason

DrS44 · 12/01/2021 13:09

The fact that you guys have just said it would be October if you conceived this month has depressed me 😭 my time is really running out now. I ideally wanted to give birth before December as we are getting married in early summer 22 😭 clearly this month is just not happening for me - CD23 and still really low OPK and temps. I asked my OH when we should stop trying and he said he really doesn't want to stop 💔😭

@Dex1521 what made you get tested for that? I've had a look at the symptoms and I don't seem to have many! My periods are light and I don't have a problem with weight gain (well I do from Christmas 🤣 but unfortunately can't blame something else for it and I wouldn't call it unusual 🤣)

It is probably just my hormones still balancing post pill. Very frustrating that it's taking so long for my body to bounce back. I do have a bowel dysfunction so I'm wondering whether that isn't helping either! Who knows 💔

I'm finding it really distracting actually - I've so much work to do but I can't help my mind wondering not and worrying that there's something wrong with me - daft I know but I feel like I'm not even in the game as even if I do ovulate my LPs have been super short so I'm not having much hope!

Anyways I'll be in touch if I ever peak but best of luck to everyone on here! 💚💚💚 xxxx

Dex1521 · 12/01/2021 13:26

@DrS44 aw I'm sorry we probably should've realised there is people struggling. Just got carried away. There is definitely still time for you don't give go hope xx

I got tested as I was struggling to lose weight for a while and doctor thought it could've been to do with that but turns out it wasn't I was just eating far too much 😂 the minute I wised up and ate properly the weight dropped off me.

Hopefully it is just a hormone imbalance which can be fixed easily. It's so hard to know what to do, especially with Covid. If I were you I'd maybe contact the doctors if you're concerned.

Just don't lose hope. We are all here for you xx

DrS44 · 12/01/2021 13:33

Thanks @Dex1521 and don't be silly about apologising! There's so many people way worse off than me I'm on only at the start of my journey, but I'm being impatient and letting myself get frustrated! Which is silly of course!

Ya I think I will - I think I'll wait til this cycle is over see what happens with the next, then I'll have more data to present to a doc... I don't want to go soon as presumably they'll say just wait another while! Thanks for your support! I really hope this is your month xxx

GreenApplesYo · 12/01/2021 13:44

@DrS44 hey hey! So frustrating to be waiting around. But I think it's not that uncommon to have an anovulatory cycle occasionally anyway - I imagine it's more likely if you have come off hormonal contraception too. Annoying to skip a month, but I wouldn't automatically assume it means something is wrong with you. This is from ClearBlue

'Most women will experience anovulatory cycles at some point during their reproductive lives. They occur most commonly in women close to menarche and menopause due to changing hormone levels, but anovulatory cycles also happen amongst healthy, regularly menstruating
women, with preceding and succeeding cycles being ovulatory. This is unlikely to affect the woman’s fertility.'

You might even ovulate soon you never know. But if not hopefully your next cycle will be back to normal.x

DrS44 · 12/01/2021 13:50

Thank you @GreenApplesYo that's very helpful 💛💛💛

PowerOfFlowers · 12/01/2021 14:25

Hi @DrS44 I'm sorry you're struggling this month. Big hugs. I had a very long cycle in July that was 45 days - it was so frustrating. I was thinking all kinds of stuff, such as I'm going through early menopause (I was 34) etc. So I can totally understand how you feel and how your head runs away with you. We weren't ttc back then but I was keeping track of everything via the Clue app. Looking back at my notes, it does look like I ovulated late that month. I did put my body through a lot of pressure that month by exercising too much and eating/drinking too much so I think that contributed. It was back to normal by August for me and then I started on Pregnacare conception at the end of Sept and my cycles stayed at 34 days long after that.
Did you say you're testing twice a day now?

DrS44 · 12/01/2021 14:33

@PowerOfFlowers thanks, it's nice to know it's not just me ☺️

Ya I tested twice a day from CD15 to CD 19. CD 20 just did morning and CD21 morning and evening. But today and yesterday tested twice but just first thing and around 12- so not in the evening. I struggle to not drink water as I really need it for my bowel dysfunction (sorry guys TMI I know 🙈).

I did start temping (I think you suggest that- or might have been @positivitytree2020) and my temps have been low (36.16+) since I did on CD19 with one little spike in the middle. So I really don't think I've ovulated yet/missed it. I had allll of the ovulation signs around CD16 though which makes it even more frustrating!

Thanks for your support 💛

PowerOfFlowers · 12/01/2021 14:46

@DrS44 I only started testing my bbt and opks in November and because I was so new to it.

I started on cd5 with the okps at around 11am. I was so scared of missing the peak and wanted to be consistent. Then when I hit cd12 I started testing at 11am and 3.30pm-3.45pm until I saw the peak (which happened cd17). I did my bbt when I woke up in the morning at 7.45am from cd4 and continued until a week after my bfp.

I totally get the bowel thing. I have ibs too so drink on average 2.5ltrs a day. What I did was have water / cup of tea when I started work i the morning, and then held off for an hour and a half until I tested at 10.45. Same in the afternoon - I allowed myself water with lunch, and then stopped gulping it down until I tested at 3.30-3.45. If I had to, I took small sips. It worked. You don't need to deprive yourself of a drink, just take a small sip here and there.

Always here to listen and (try) and give advice xx

DrS44 · 12/01/2021 15:19

@PowerOfFlowers thanks I really appreciate it 🌟 I'll try that tomorrow about drinking water and timings! I've down 2 bottles of water this afternoon as my tummy is acting up so this eve is probs a no go for testing again!

Ya I did my temps last month to confirm ovulation - I only started again this month when I hadn't seen a peak!

Really appreciate the help and advice! I think I'm just having a down day xxx

positivitytree2020 · 12/01/2021 15:34

@DrS44 sorry to hear there's been no progress, I felt the exact same as you 3 weeks ago!! I honestly drove myself demented with the OPKs and with worry, it was an awful feeling to be honest really got me down.
The one thing I will say, when I stopped doing them (on CD20) I actually felt so much better! I had written it off as anovulatory cycle (as @GreenApplesYo said, these are actually pretty common after I'd researched) and said I'd start again fresh next month.
I kept doing the temps anyway out of habit more so than anything, and then low and behold somewhere around CD26 I ovulated because my temps rose - ended up missing my fertile days after all that coz I'd given up! 😂
Anyways, my point is maybe you should take it easy on yourself now, just check temps in morning and keep DTD and just forget about it? Easier said than done I know, but once I wrote off the cycle something ended up happening! Stress can delay ovulation too! Otherwise you'll drive yourself mad with OPKs! 😭

positivitytree2020 · 12/01/2021 15:41

@DrS44 Also, I totally get what you mean with the months ticking by! We started trying in September, and I had it my head that I wanted to have a baby before September 2021! That dream is long gone lol! 😢

But I think putting pressure on yourself saying you need it to happen before a certain date and that time is running out doesn't help either, in the back of your mind that'll have you very stressed! 😢 I have only now this cycle come to the conclusion that it'll happen when it happens, I can't force it as much as I would love to!

DrS44 · 12/01/2021 15:41

@positivitytree2020 ya I think you're right! I'll do that! Leave the OPKs this month and see if I get any temp rise! I'll just keep DTD every second month and see what happens! It's too much of a distraction and a worry! I wouldn't mind but I was so chilled this cycle and had a feeling it was coming early 🤣🤣 how wrong was I?!!

Thanks so much and sorry for being so dramatic! I'll just try and take it easy and see what happens! Xxxx
