Oh @JLP256 - I have pre-AF spotting and every month I convince myself it could be implantation bleeding... Then feel silly when AF arrives!! Sorry this wasn't your month. Onto the next one, together!

@Lynne425 so nice to hear from you, I can't even imagine what a strange and difficult time you're having. Sending so much virtual support!!

I do track bbt girls, it works for me as I have never known when I ovulate and I am useless at these OPK's! I think I drink too much water ... I've only ever had one peak! I've been bbt charting since October and I find it so helpful to look back at patterns. But I know it's not for everyone.

It's my best friends baby shower on zoom this afternoon @AKcheer, I'm actually looking forward to it but I've organised it so maybe feel more in control that people aren't going to ask me about baby things lol. It's never ending, had another announcement this week of someone who reckons they only had sex one. No one believes you Hun!!!

Rose2108 · 07/02/2021 14:13

My guilty pleasure TV is Schitts Creek on Netflix ... I have watched it about five times! But I'm also really in to Elizabethan or Victorian TV and films like Poldark and stuff, I'm watching Mary Queen of Scots at the moment! I just love the drama of it all 🤣😍

8LPS · 07/02/2021 18:23

Hey all, hope you're having a good weekend.

@RedLippyK8 - I'm so sorry to see your MIL has deteriorated :( I hear you that it's stressful on a relationship, but as long as you're supportive of each other it'll be ok. Plus what is happening with your MIL is an absolutely awful situation so there will be some tension to a degree... try to take care of yourselves as much as poss.
Oh, and as for keeping up with comments, I've just started looking at the messages on my laptop instead of on my phone cus I found it tooo overwhelming! And I now open up a Word document so I can see the both the messages and the Word doc at the same time lol! Otherwise, there IS no keeping up for me haha!
Yes, I'm from the UK
LOL I feel you there! I don't know how many times I had to Google search all these acronyms when I first joined. DH = darling husband lol I got that from someone on here, can't remember who.
Bless you, I have a mate who has Coeliac! It was so tough for her before diagnosis, and I remember her being in a lot of pain! How long have you had it for??

@Akcheer – Haha too right! It's so weird (sorry but this is going to be TMI) – a few days ago I literally felt like the blood was going to come out, and I felt like crap. But then it totally went away (apart from the booby tenderness) until today – again it feels like I'm on the edge of AF! I'm currently 12dpo, AF due on Tuesday, so am just waiting..... This month, I feel totally different, like I'm not waiting for AF to come – I'm waiting for it not to come – I'm probably getting my hopes up again though, but I'll see I guess. DH is going tomorrow to get a pg test cus this month, unlike others, I feel like I want to test and put ourselves out of our misery. (Plus I want some alcohol haha!)
I haven't been to the gym in years, but I feel for you guys who have been struggling without it! Do you also follow YouTube workouts n things like that, or freestyle it by yourself?
Oh I could try raspberry leaf tea, thanks for the heads up!
Whereabouts are you in your cycle at the mo? Thanks for the conception yoga recommendation! I like Sarah Beth yoga, but alwayssss up for trying new people out. I've scheduled it in my diary for tomorrow!
PS – I've been to Stourbridge before (bro-in-law used to live there) but unfortunately didn't get to go around the High Street properly or anything before they moved away from there! I used to live in Wolves, and always wanted to go to Bridgenorth cus always heard it's beautiful there, but didn't get round to it yet! Iron Bridge is great to walk around too! :)
Have your wisdom teeth come out yet?? Hope you're not in too much pain from it!
Eeeek I was in the exact same position on a Zoom baby shower! Didn't like the people as well! Hopefully you won't get questions because the shower isn't about you, so whoever puts the focus on you would be pretty inconsiderate stealing the pg person's thunder!

@Rose2108 – Oh YES the Dodo videos are soo heartwarming aren't they?! If you fancy having a look at it, they did a video on 'Oliver' the blind white dog – and he is just adorable!!! Yeah absolutely, Insta's algorithms are all over the place. Also, with the beauty/make-up people I follow on there since way before TTC – they're all getting pregnant too great :-|
That's amazing you've lost some Xmas weight! It is so bloody hard to keep on the straight and narrow. I can't ever do life without some kind of treats from time to time even if I'm watching what I eat, otherwise I won't last haha! How's the walking going? Do you do different routes or stick by where you live? I normally don't like going outside for fun in the winter haha but have learned to love walking this winter! Pop Spotify on and I'm all set!
Ha, the intention to stay relaxed is always there isn't it? A couple of weeks ago when we were DTD, my husband told me to stop putting my legs up in the air afterwards cus he just wants me to relax – hasn't worked so far! Great call on the new undies – it'll be something new for your partner which will help I'm sure!
Yes, I agree – this whole Covid thing feels never ending. I started this year feeling hopeful things will change (in this country at least!). I normally stay away from the news cus it depresses me, but I caught a few seconds of it the other day and it said there's another superstrain of Covid?!?! Wtf! Just want to hug my friends and family :(

@JLP256 – I'm so sorry AF came :( I have everything crossed for you that this month is your month!
Yes I track BBT and input it into Premom app. It's still quite difficult to remember for me to take my temp straight away after waking up! I use the Lloyds ovulation thermometer cus apparently it is more accurate than a normal one..? How are you getting on with it so far?

@Lynne425 – I'm really glad you feel a bit better, we are here for you! As far as Netflix goes, here's some suggestions: Bridgerton, Queen's Gambit, Ozark. And if you like trash reality (Netflix): Too Hot to Handle, The Circle, RuPaul's Drag Race. On Prime, we liked Jack Ryan (the series, not the movie).
Totally agree, shutting yourself off from people who are expecting as much as poss feels so much better. Don't need to know how they are doing. Especially if they are moaning about pg symptoms!!!

Rose2108 · 08/02/2021 10:06

Hey @8LPS I will have to look for Oliver! I was watching some cat fly around the house with no back legs last night ... such escapism! Yes I can walk in all directions and have quite nice routes; through parks or cute little streets away from main roads, I also have a rugby club behind me which is obviously closed at the moment but they have opened the gates so people can exercise. What about you? I listen to books on audible mainly or podcasts! I'm listening to the new Jessie Burton book called The Confession; it's good! And then for exercise I sometimes do the popsugar videos on youtube but we have a punch bag in the garage so I like to just go and smash that haha, it is great stress relief from work!

Funny enough after a few months my husband actually said to me "shouldn't you put your legs in the air or something!" - He saw it on peep show! Haha. How is your DH does he feel stressed about it? Mine does, I can tell he gets a bit anxious to perform then the fertile window looms.

I am currently on CD 13, ovulation due CD 19. Hopefully we can DTD twice this week and then a few more times over the weekend. My friend who fell said she ovulated CD 15 and DTD day 13 and 15 only. I just wish I knew when it was going to happen for sure, it has been so irregular. Assuming it could be any time from CD 16 - 22. Do you all ovulate regularly? Am I the only one??? Lol.

So guys... I am hoping to get your opinion on my day 21 bloods. I understand they are to measure progesterone, which peaks 7 days after you ovulate. As you know the useless GP said "Just come on day 21, it doesn't matter when you ovulate", but as we all know, this is a total waste of time. If I ovulate as predicted on day 19, and then go on day 21, all that will happen is I will get all stressed out because they will say my levels are very low and potentially recommend some medication that I may not need (e.g, clomid). My thinking is, go 7 days after my confirmed ovulation (from BBT) as this will be a better picture of my hormone levels. What do you all think?

KerryW87 · 08/02/2021 10:32

@Rose2108 I totally agree with you on the bloods! It makes absolutely no sense to go on day 21 if you believe you'll ovulate just two days prior! Just this morning I actually phoned and changed my appointment because I ovulated two days earlier than I thought I would have, and wanted it to be done 7 days after ovulation...otherwise it seems like a waste of your time and the nurse's if it isn't going to give an accurate result! I think your GP is wrong in this case, I'd phone and get them changed! Hope you're doing ok! Xx

jules5232 · 09/02/2021 15:34

@Rose2108 I agree with you, as someone who's day 21 bloods came back slightly low and the next step would be clomid to fix, I would be concerned or anxious knowing it may have only been low because of when I went in. If there's a chance you could schedule it closer to 7dpo I would try.

KerryW87 · 10/02/2021 09:39

How is everyone? Hope you're all having a good week! :)

@Lynne425 How are you doing? ❤️
@AKcheer How are you? How did the online baby shower go?
@Rose2108 Did you manage to change your bloods appointment?

A text came through on the family group chat first thing this morning to announce another pregnancy; my cousin's. It stung a bit - I'm 7dpo and have my normal pre-AF symptoms so I did have a wee cry about it. However, need to try and get myself out of it so planning to take the boys a freezing cold snowy walk later! Day 21 bloods tomorrow so that's a good thing at least xx

AKcheer · 10/02/2021 09:50

Hey guys how are you! Sorry been MIA! My tooth has been killing me but I am better now!!!

@KerryW87 yup it’s been my fertile week but we just have been DTD every other day really and trying to relax a bit more! Like I haven’t been doing the opks as much I used to in the past which has helped! I think the seven seas conception tablets have changed my ovulation date though and now i get my peak on CD13 so probably ovulate on CD14 which is pretty average no. Before I use to get my peak around CD10!
Awww I know! I actually put some makeup on yesterday! But I don’t feel the same I need my eyebrows doing haha. Oh man that must have been so hard going to a baby shower so close to your loss. Shows what a strong person you are ❤️
Just going onto the next page so will send another message!

@Lynne425 I can imagine. It’s really hard isn’t it. I really am sorry Lynne, this breaks my heart.
Yeah I don’t blame you, it’s such a private thing isn’t it.
Awww yes make sure you have your comfy clothes on and if you need to rant or are upset come and chat to us ❤️❤️

@Rose2108 how did the baby shower go!? Yah maybe better because you organised it! The one I’m going to is in a few weeks. God with everyone I hate 😂 you always have a side of the family you get on with right? I deffo am part of my dads side - this baby shower is on my mums side and they are al weird!!!
God had sex once!? That’s a miracle 😂😂 god why do people act like this!
I’ve started watching greys anatomy's I can’t believe it goes back to 2005!!

@8LPS oh wow! What weird symptoms!! Did your hubby manage to get a pregnancy test for you? I’m hoping your AF didn’t arrive?? And how are you feeling today??
Yah it’s so hard! We have weights etc at home so sometimes il follow some training exercises or just freestyle by myself but it’s just not the same! I do a lot of skipping too. I’m really loving yoga at the moment though it really helps!!
Oh yah raspberry tea leaf - it don’t taste great lol
Yah Stourbridge is nice and quiet! Nice little countryside! Ahh yah I know some

How are you feeling xx

OP posts:
AKcheer · 10/02/2021 13:02

@Rose2108 definitley go 7 days after ovulation. Going on day 21 not going to help anything and if it comes back low it’s going to be a panic.

Hey again @KerryW87 the baby shower is in a few weeks!! Oh darn the news you got this morning...it’s always so much worse when we’re trying!! But fingers crossed this is your month hun!!
Aww yes get out for a bit and have a walk and clear your head!! It will do some good!!

Afternoon All

So here's my story..... you couldn't make it up!!

My youngest sister was supposed to get married this weekend (hence why I went for an early scan) but wedding was had been postponed until Aug 2022 just to hopefully allow a 'normal' wedding to go ahead.

She face timed me yesterday in tears that she's just found out she's pregnant -17 weeks! Wasn't planned at all and in complete shock!! However they have been together 7 years so it's absolutely fine and I'm sure they'll be happy once the shock wears off.

I obviously broke down in tears also and explained my situation - we literally want to swap situations!

How can I be here after 6+ months of trying and be booked in tomorrow for my miscarriage and she's sitting 17 weeks pregnant not trying and she said she basically hardly 'slept' with her Fiancé in Oct/Nov

Life is shit and unfair xxx

jules5232 · 10/02/2021 14:30

@Lynne425 I'm so sorry, and all of this really is so unfair! Trying for months while others get their positives accidentally makes it much harder. I cant believe shes 17 weeks and didnt know. Thinking of you today 💕

Lynne425 · 10/02/2021 15:30

I am soo happy for her as it will be my first niece or nephew but it's just a total kick in the teeth for what's happening at the moment!

She had zero symptoms and has been taking the pill (now and again! 🙈) basically only thing is she's thirsty!! She's also been on a diet (for the wedding) but couldn't understand why she wasn't loosing weight lol

After this weekend I'll be fine I'm just soo hormonal the now it's not been the best news xx

Rose2108 · 11/02/2021 11:16

Morning Ladies,

Thanks @KerryW87 @jules5232, I agree. Bloods in this town are walk-in so I will just rock up with my little form on the right day. Probs have to wait a century!

Oh @Lynne425 you really couldn't make that up, what are the odds! That must be so hard for you, I cannot wait until the day you get your BFP again. Hopefully being an Auntie will bring you lots of joy and you will get some good news before baby arrives. Hoping your appointment goes well xx

@AKcheer the shower was so fun ... and only probably one occasion where I felt like a spare part because they were all on about baby stuff but I just kept drinking! Haha. My bestie loved it though. I have heard Greys is great!

So ladies, I got a squinter on my opk last night, reckon it will happen tomorrow / Saturday. Will do another test later today but hoping for a good strong line! I really have to not drink anything for 2 hours (and get a stinking headache), or they just don't work for me. What time do you all do your OPK tests?

I feel weirdly quite excited this will be the first time we really maximise the fertile window! It's hard to know before because I was not tracking, but Oct - Dec before my charting started to show accurate information we had been getting it all wrong... sometimes dtd daily from day 10 - 17 and then have like a week without it, and then I probably ovulated day 21 so totally missed it ! Lol. Defo the wrong approach.

Surely we are due another BFP next month ladies... xxx

AKcheer · 11/02/2021 12:45

Hey @Lynne425 I mean who would have written this!?? God I really feel for you. You have gone through so many obstacles in such a short period of time. I can’t even imagine how hard it has been for you.
I hope you’re ok today ❤️ I’m thinking of you today xx

@Rose2108 Ahh glad you enjoyed it! Sounds great!! Did someone say alcohol yum haha! Oooh exciting!!! I usually have lunch around 1230-1 then have a wee and I test around 330 lol.
Ahhh it’s crazy how much you start to learn about your body right when you start tracking etc!! It is weird though! I always use to get a peak CD9/CD10 but then since I started having peaking around CD13.

You’re right we so need a BFP! I’m in my TWW now lol. 1 dpo wahey 😂 me and hubby have just been DTD every other day. Apart from the past couple days we did it both days just because 😂

OP posts:
KerryW87 · 11/02/2021 15:16

@Lynne425 Oh Lynne I'm so sorry 😞 You really could not make it up! There are so many conflicting emotions involved with family and close friends' pregnancies; of course you're happy for her but you have been through the bloody mill and would kill to be in her situation, so you have every right to feel shit and be angry and upset, I'm sure every one of us would feel the same. I wish I could say something to cheer you up, but we're all here for the journey until it's your turn 💕

@Rose2108 Oh brilliant, here's hoping you get your peak soon and then you'll be back in the TWW! I usually test between 1-3pm, I try for a 4 hour hold beforehand but sometimes it's near impossible and I cave at 3, haha. Hope you manage to get a walk-in appt for your bloods!

@AKcheer Congrats on being back in the TWW! Get your pineapple bought 😂 Sounds like you had it covered so fingers crossed this is the one! 🤞

I had my day 21 bloods today (I'm 8DPO but don't think a day later matters too much!) I'm so grateful for my doctor, the nurse said they're testing

Progesterone
LH
FSH
Prolactin
Full blood count
Liver
Kidneys
Thyroid

So a full MOT 😂 My partner had his appointment to hand in his sample for sperm analysis so hopefully we have some answers soon. Not hopeful for this month AT ALL, classic AF symptoms so hoping next cycle will be promising after our test results/next steps!

Anyone got nice Valentines plans? We're sick to the bloody back teeth of going for a walk 😂😂 x

jules5232 · 11/02/2021 15:53

@Rose2108 opks gave me the same issue, so I started testing with the first morning go. The test box suggested afternoon but I just wasnt catching them at first, but the mornings always gave me a dark line and it would usually continue through the day (and for me two mornings).

@KerryW87 that's great about how much they are looking at with your bloods. Do you know when you will hear back??

KerryW87 · 11/02/2021 17:29

@jules5232 Thanks, I know I felt lucky to get a doctor who didn't fob me off! She said I should get my results back within a week, so here's hoping all is ok. Not sure how long partner's SA will take, they didn't say!

How are you? xx

8LPS · 11/02/2021 18:13

Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well!

@Rose2108 – that's nice you can walk different ways. It's nice to have a change of route once in a while cus I do tend to get bored going the same way all the time. Yeah same here, I like to walk around my area, but have started doing longer walks to my local city centre just so that I can actually have a fighting chance at getting my 10,000 daily steps in lol!
HAHA I swear our men take what they see on TV as gospel! After watching that movie 'Knocked Up' years ago, my hubby thought you can't get pregnant if the woman is on top because of gravity LOL! I had to stop myself from crying laughing! I don't think he gets stressed about DTD, we try to keep it interesting but that obvs isn't possible all the time! I think he gets more anxious when AF comes because he also didn't think it'd take this long. Wow you guys sometimes DTD daily for 7 days?! My hubby was really just over it the one month we did that. After day 4 hahahaa!!! There are so many approaches so it's difficult to keep track of what to do! I saw on the NHS website that we should be DTD every 2-3 days throughout the month in order to increase chances of conceiving so we try to do that.
I really don't know if I ovulate regularly unfortunately - you are definitely not the only one!!! As far as the bloods appt goes, I'd go with your gut. Forget what the GP says on this occasion!
I have ClearBlue OPKs and on the instructions it says to do them on your first wee of the day so I always do them first thing!

@KerryW87 – There is nothing wrong at all with having a bit of a cry. Flowers
I hope your bloods appointment went ok! Did they say how long you'd have to wait for the results?
Valentine's day is going to be a feast fest for us! AF will still be around for me. I told my hubby that we don't need to do cards and presents this year (funnily enough, he didn't protest about that for some reason haha!). We will be having a meal from the pasta delivery people – Pasta Evangelists! What about you??

@Akcheer – Hubby ended up getting the pg test from Amazon instead. I got a BFN and I was so gutted. It's like I'd been feeling pregnant and when I got that BFN it really really hurt. I was having symptoms like – insomnia, puffy gums, bit of acne, boobs aching way more than usual, cramping, slight headaches, vivid dreams, my boobs were REALLY veiny, going for a wee ALL THE TIME. These are the weirder symptoms of pg so I thought that's what it was! I didn't believe the pg test because I didn;t realise I'd drank so much water before it, and then I was 3 days late for AF!!! But then it came full force today :( :(
Eeek so it's DTD time for you then! Good luck!

@Lynne425 – oh my god! Yes you literally are in the opposite situations of what you both want! It's so not fair that the people who don't want it, get it! I feel awful for you going through everything you have!

So girls, I have my first bloods appointment tomorrow. I'm pissed off with myself for waiting so long to get it done cus I thought the Drs would take the whole “don't ask for help til you've tried for 1 year” thing very strictly/seriously - but in your cases, they have been lenient so I should've just gone for it! Anyway I have no idea what happens for the second bloods (day 21 bloods?) - does it have to be done before you ovulate? Or as close as possible to O Day? I don't actually know when I ovulate so that's be a little difficult for me.. Any help would be appreciated as I know nothing about this! The Dr wasn't specific about what they're looking for at all which is unhelpful (I didn't talk to her, she sent me an instant message). Thank you guys xx

jules5232 · 11/02/2021 18:23

@KerryW87 the wait for results feels like forever. Fingers crossed everything is good for you. I remember them saying that a SA only takes a few days since they have to do the test quickly after getting the sample.

I'm feeling okay, just exhausted. Taking naps all throughout the day. Had a quick scan last Friday to make sure it wasnt ectopic, but all looked okay. I have had brown spotting and cramps off and on since my positive so they wanted to check, but its still continuing so my first visit moved up to next Friday. Hopefully all is still okay and the cramps/spotting is just my body's way of adjusting. Makes me nervous but trying to stay positive!

KerryW87 · 11/02/2021 19:15

@jules5232 Haha you're right...it's just a WHOLE lot of different types of waiting, this TTC game! Oh, that's good to know! Hopefully his results are back soon then - they're the ones we're most worried about as we did a home test before and it came back as "low" so we'll be very glad to know for sure what's going on.

Aww that's brilliant news, so glad you got a scan for some reassurance! So delighted for you, here's hoping the spotting tails off soon to ease your mind but I have read loads of posts on this where women have cramps and spotting, I think it's fairly common!

KerryW87 · 12/02/2021 10:20

@8LPS Hahaha, your Valentines gift to him is letting him off with that then! Feast fest sounds IDEAL, we'll probably end up doing the same and getting a nice takeaway....not really many more options these days! 😂

Is it your day 21 bloods today? If so, they should be done around 7 days afrer you ovulate as the bloods test for the levels of progesterone in your blood at that time - if you are ovulating then the levels should be above a certain point. If you're not sure when you ovulate it may be a bit trickier - based on a "normal" 28 day cycle, that would be around Day 21 which is why it's called that, but if you have longer cycles and they're roughly around 35 days for example then it would be around Day 28 you'd have the bloods done. I hope that makes sense!

Your doctor should be more helpful, they're supposed to know all this, not you! Hope it all goes ok! xx

KerryW87 · 12/02/2021 10:22

@8LPS Sorry didn't read where you'd said AF had arrived! So it's your day 3 bloods today! Hope all goes well with it!

Hopefully if you know roughly how long your cycles are or you manage to catch a peak on your Clearblue OPK this cycle then you'll be able to make an appointment for roughly the right sort of time for the day 21 bloods! :)

Lynne425 · 12/02/2021 11:09

Morning All

Thanks for your messages yesterday!! Meant a lot 💕

I don't think it's worked tho as still waiting and nothing happening! Hosp said it can take up to 48 hours so literally is a waiting game but just wish it would start to get over it!

Even found myself ironing to pass the time earlier which isn't like me lol

Not to worry though - I'm looking at it like I'm just waiting for a big AF to come then move on to hopefully get my cycle back to normal!xx

KerryW87 · 14/02/2021 08:42

@Lynne425 Anything happening? Really hope you're doing ok! ❤️

I've tried to hold out, but the past two nights I had dreams about positive pregnancy tests so tested today at 11dpo. Stark white. Knew it would be but just feel so upset and fed up. I'm so scared that because my partner's home test said his count was low that his NHS sperm analysis is going to show that we have very little chance and that it was a miracle we ever conceived with our wee boy and he was our only chance. I'm being so dramatic today, I know 😂 I'm typing this through tears and feel like a big drama queen! Just having a down day I suppose, will feel better when a new cycle begins.

Hope you're all ok and having a good weekend! ❤️
