Hey @8LPS - I am going to get my 21 day bloods done 6 days past ovulation too, I think that will be fine to measure the progesterone levels. I have booked off a Fri/Mon in March too, hoping the weather will be a nit nicer so I can spend some time sorting out the garden! Getting ready for Spring! Yay new cycle for you... deep breaths !!
@AKcheer - Ovusense is a BBT device that you put in your lady bits before going to sleep. It tracks BBT throughout the night so you can pinpoint your exact ovulation. If you know when you ovulate it is not needed but recommended for people who have irregular cycles! How is your exercise going? Hopefully gyms will be open soon!!
@JLP256 Oh how lovely, congrats on the new pad! Definitely a welcome distraction. I dug out my old Nintendo DS and have been doing that brain training! Trying to not go crazy in the v.v.v.long evenings...
So ladies when I called about the fertility treatment the lady was really nice. It is £190 for the initial consultation, and she said it would be in our interest to get the bloods & SA done first with NHS before confirming an appointment. She also said it would be really helpful to have six full months of charts (as I have opted to do BBT charting), as this will help the Dr to assess patterns and identify any problems, rather than sending me away to go and do that for a few months. I have pencilled in an appointment for 01 April, as that will allow us to have everything we need. I could have had one sooner but felt this was a good time and something to work towards. I really want to lose a little more weight before then too.
Randomly, I came across this website: naturalfertilityexpert.com/fertility-question-time-bbt-charts/, and went down a bit of a rabbit hole reading his materials and listening to his webinar on BBT! It was sooo interesting because chart #3 (long follicular phase) looks EXACTLY like my chart, like it could have been taken from my app. His works are based on Chinese medicine which I know a lot of people don't believe it, but what he said in my case is that my chart would indicate I have a progesterone deficiency (as I suspected) which is all to do with a lack of good quality blood and flood flow; ovaries are not being nourished enough, body is retaining heat etc.
The instructions to help this is to eat blood enriching foods (like dark leafy veg, beetroots or red meats), exercise more to help with blood circulation, and lose/gain weight as needed. So I am going to adopt these three things over the next six weeks! It doesn't mean at all that you cannot conceive! But might be one of the reasons it is taking a little longer.
So... my next task is to raise SA with my husband... Not sure how he will take this... Is it a bit of a bruise to his manhood to suggest this?!
