@anibendod definitely!!! Get some cheapys I'm 3 months in using opks and finally managed to find my peak

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 25/11/2020 21:46

@CookieMonster3001 hahaha omg us too! We met when I was 21, not a care in the world, would spend time on my appearance.. here I am at 27 and I just came up to get washed noticed I had food in my teeth from dinner. 😂
So I will be trying to look a bit nicer for all the baby dancing we'll hopefully be doing in Feb. I get so tired though... I may have to set alarm then go back to sleep after too haha!!

@Curiosity101Aw I think that is so lovely! 🥰 I'd be the same! Omg imagine what a start to new year that'll be!!

@Curiosity101 hahaha mouldy garlic!! What aftershave was it 😂😂😂

OP posts:
CookieMonster3001 · 25/11/2020 21:50

I wouldnt mind the garlic smell. Love me some garlic bread with cheeseeeee... talk about getting me in the mood lol

Curiosity101 · 26/11/2020 06:42

@sunflowersaremyfav93 Hugo boss night. I love it normally, and to @CookieMonster3001s point I also love the smell of fresh garlic or garlic in food. But when I was pregnant his aftershave started smelling like mouldy garlic and made me 🤢🤢🤢. We ended up going to the perfume counter at Boots so I could smell everything and fine him a new one. The new one only lasted a few weeks before that was too strong and I couldn't have him wear any aftershave at all.

CookieMonster3001 · 26/11/2020 10:40

@Curiosity101 Hugo Boss night is lovely!!! yep.. fresh garlic yum... mouldy garlic not so much! haha. I already have such a strong sense of smell, that that's not one thing I am looking forward to when pregnant. I almost sometimes think I have smell phantom smells. Randomly I will just be able to smell shepherd's pie or plastic and no one else can!

Curiosity101 · 26/11/2020 13:21

@CookieMonster3001 Pretty much everyone I've spoken to has referred to the bloodhound level sense of smell that comes with pregnancy. It hits people at different times, but it does get most people. There are still certain smells I struggle with now because I associate them really strongly with morning sickness.

For my friend it was fish. She loooooooves fish and couldn't eat it any longer cause the smell made her very nauseous.

Oh the joys of pregnancy Grin. I suppose it's a small price to pay to bring a whole other human being into the world though GrinGrinGrin

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 26/11/2020 20:30

Haha that is so funny @Curiosity101, I'm so excited to see how my body changes and I am with pregnancy.
Looking at the news today doesn't look like too much is really changing does it? Plenty of time to stay home and baby dance 😂😂 what a year it's been!!

@Lollipop87 How was your scan?

OP posts:
Curiosity101 · 26/11/2020 21:33

@sunflowersaremyfav93 All of this talk of pregnancy has got me doing a bit of reminiscing. This was me at 21+2 in my most bump hiding outfit and most bump showing outfit. For reference, I was probably around a size 12-14 when I fell pregnant, so not tiny but equally not huge. Also, those are my normal jeans, not maternity jeans.

ps. Excuse the background, we were mid house renovation whilst I was pregnant Grin

TTCWC2 · 27/11/2020 08:11

@sunflowersaremyfav93 I love your point about not having much to do but BD plus I think Christmas adds to it too, something about all the lights etc that just makes BD seem less like a 'chore' in this household at least😂 only issue I'm finding is not having the usual distractions to help think about something other than TTC. I seem to be using shopping as a bit of a distraction but only so long my bank balance will allow that for haha.

I feel like I lost track a little on the old group. How is everyone doing and how many do we have actively
TTC/ when is everyone hoping to start? Our first month of doing it 'properly' next month. So excited and so nervous at the same time!

wrensandrobins · 27/11/2020 08:20

@TTCWC2 we are finally trying this month too, I should ovulate around the 20th :) just waiting for my period! I'm hoping it doesn't shift a week later as I'm at my bfs parents for Christmas 😆

I keep swinging between excitement and fear but I am counting down the days

TTCWC2 · 27/11/2020 08:25

@wrensandrobins ah that's so exciting, will be nice to have someone going through it at a similar time! I'm due to ovulate around the 28th so hopefully we'll be back from our Christmas family visit. It's so funny isn't it, trying to plan everything around TTC 🙈

Have you done much in preparation? We've been taking vitamins for a good 5 months or so now so keeping that up but also trying to sleep better, eat well and cutting back a bit of high intensity exercise like HIIT. I've read so much about cutting back on caffeine but gosh I just adore coffee!

Curiosity101 · 27/11/2020 08:28

@TTCWC2 I'm good thanks. I'm back down to my lowest weight, so 1.5lb until pre-pregnancy weight! I'm on the same cycle as @wrensandrobins Grin literally down to the day! So just waiting for AF before I'll be officially trying.

@wrenandrobins What day do you travel to your boyfriend's parents? Have you thought about when you're going to test yet? I'm thinking New Year's Eve. It'll be a case of 'Am I opening the Prosecco or Nosecco?' Grin. Although it depends if I can hold out that long... I could potentially ovulate on the 19th so 29th onwards is possible for testing and I have 0 self-control.

wrensandrobins · 27/11/2020 08:41

@Curiosity101 I do think it's pretty awesome this has happened, we can get through the TWW together 🤣

I was also thinking New Year's with the same thoughts 🤣 I also have zero self control and a pack of 100 cheap pregnancy tests haha

wrensandrobins · 27/11/2020 08:42

@Curiosity101 Christmas Eve, so i should have definitely ovulated by then!

Curiosity101 · 27/11/2020 08:47

@wrensandrobins GrinGrinGrin Same here. I've got a load of the OneStep dip tests and then also a 2 pack of FRERs. My plan is to test with OneStep and confirm with a FRER. DH has them hidden away for me though. I've told him I'm not allowed them until at least 10DPO.

And yeah, Christmas eve should be fine. Even if you were a week late, if you could DTD before leaving you'd only be a couple of days pre-ovulation. Smile

wrensandrobins · 27/11/2020 08:55

Yeah I just double checked and my window for ovulation is the 18th to 20th, I should be fine :)

Hiding the pregnancy tests is a good idea but I could definitely see me sneakily buying more out of desperation to test 🤣

wrensandrobins · 27/11/2020 08:57

They have a Black Friday deal on Frers at the moment 🤣

thelessiknow · 27/11/2020 15:15

@TTCWC2 so exciting to be starting properly for the first time! Fingers crossed for you.

We aren’t trying or preventing...I started taking vitamins this week and tracking my cycle properly again after a long hiatus during a v stressful summer! OH and I have discussed starting properly next year (I’m not convinced he really understands the whole process tbh!). We had been hoping to buy a house this autumn but the stamp duty cut has been crazy and we’ve lost out on 5 houses - so that’s been put on hold too. There is never a good time to do anything really IMO :(

I’ve also been ‘in the system’ for abnormal cervical cell changes and am scared I might need another LLETZ - supposed to have a colposcopy back in November last year, had to cancel it and now been ridiculously delayed because of covid. Hoping I get an appointment soon before we actually decide to start ttc properly and have to wait!

Curiosity101 · 27/11/2020 15:42

@wrensandrobins GrinGrinGrin Resist the urge! If you already have 100 of the cheapies then even if you tested every day from 7DPO onwards that'd be.... 14+ months worth of tests? Grin

@thelessiknow I completely agree that there's never a right time for anything. There's better or worse, but never 'right'. Sorry to hear about your test results, I imagine that was a pain when considering TTC and then with all the delays once Covid started Sad. I hate seeing how many 'routine' things had to be cancelled, just means a lot of people left in limbo. Is it likely you'll need another LLETZ? Or is it a fear because of the past results?

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 28/11/2020 14:05

@Curiosity101 awww I love your pictures! I can't wait to have a bump. Although apparently with having two uteri and the baby only being in one apparently I'll have a wonky bump 🤣 don't care what shape it is as long as my baby is healthy.

@TTCWC2 I'm starting Feb 1st, can't wait! I'm counting down the days.

So ladies - I'm getting fed up of eating the same old stuff in the hope that it's going to make my eggs nice and healthy so looking for some nice new fertility foods or super foods.
I eat a lot of broccoli, cauliflower, strawberries, grapes, satsumas, and brussel sprouts... What else is good eat and in season? I'm stopping with the strawberries they come and are all mushy.

OP posts:
Curiosity101 · 28/11/2020 14:09

@sunflowersaremyfav93 I did enjoy having a bump. If it makes you feel any better my bump was often wonky as DS was almost always head down but laid on his side. His spine would be running along my right hand side which meant the right hand side of my bump was 'full' and the left side empty. 😄

I'm not sure about fertility super foods. But on the strawberry front would frozen strawberries be any good as a replacement?

sunflowersaremyfav93 · 28/11/2020 14:54

@Curiosity101 that's so funny! Was it visibly wonky? How's your weekend going? I've been watching one born every minute today... why do I do it to myself?!
I actually have some frozen strawberries in my freezer atm along with frozen berries mango pineapple.. do I wait for them to defrost or eat them frozen? Haha that's probably a realllllly dumb question!!

OP posts:
mooloop · 28/11/2020 15:18

Hi, hope it's OK to join!

DH and I are sort of not actively trying but not preventing as of my last cycle, but I decided to try the CB ovulation tests this week because I have a weird paranoia of what if I'm not even ovulating Blush got a high reading today so hopefully my peak will be soon! Feel so clueless about it all Grin

Going to take some pre conception vitamins too Smile

Curiosity101 · 28/11/2020 15:33

@sunflowersaremyfav93 Haha, sometimes it was yes. I don't think anyone else would have ever noticed but sometimes I'd look down and rather than my bump being round it'd be slightly triangular/angled where DS was laid.

Weekend is going well thanks. I had a recurring dream last night where I found out I was pregnant GrinGrinGrin definitely got baby on the brain. It's only just over 2 weeks until I'll be entering my fertile window. Which as an aside reminds me just how close Christmas is! And I've still not bought anything Confused. We went for a long walk today which was nice and I've weighed in and drum roll I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight!!! I'm hoping to lose 4lb more over the next 2 weeks and then I'll ease off until stopping completely when I hit my target (7lb from then) or get a BFP.

GrinGrinGrin I'm not sure if watching one born is a good thing or a bad thing.

I guess it's up to you if you let them defrost? I think some people turn frozen fruit into smoothies and it's often left frozen for that. I often have blueberries with Greek yoghurt for breakfast though and I always defrost the blueberries first. I wouldn't fancy my chances biting through one, but I've never tried.

How's your weekend going?
