@PumpkinEverything
I am worried about fibroids. I have read more common from mid 30's . I am 37. Im gona speak to G.P to see if I can get a scan to make sure everything is clear. If not , i know I can get a scan privately xx

Hopefulmummie · 15/12/2020 11:05

Looking some advice. Done a clear blue this morning and still coming up 1-2 pregnant nearly 2 weeks after miscarriage.
Can you get pregnant again while still having a positive result? As I think I will be ovulating this week or can you even ovulate while still have a positive pregnancy test

Hopefulmummie · 15/12/2020 11:05

1-2 weeks pregnant*

RS2609 · 15/12/2020 11:33

Hi everyone I thought I’d join this thread if that’s ok. I unfortunately had a miscarriage this weekend at 6 weeks - this was our first pregnancy. Both of us feel very ready for children so although we are heartbroken over this we are both keen to TTC again as soon as possible. It’s nice to be able to chat to others in the same boat. Just waiting for my negative test so we can start again x

susiebluebell · 15/12/2020 11:48

@MgW1 Ah I'm so sorry this has happened. Sending love and hugs and backing you all the way through it xx

@HappyVibes Very glad you've been given the progesterone and vits! 💕

susiebluebell · 15/12/2020 11:49

@RichmondLady1981 Thank you, I am on cd10 so not much going on, might start OPKs soon. Hope your gin evening was good x

Hanbanxx · 15/12/2020 12:31

@MgW1 I am so sorry this has happened to you. Sending lots of love and hugs ❤️

@Mumsdaily eeeeek such exciting news! So happy for you, that is amazing ⭐️

MgW1 · 15/12/2020 12:41

@susiebluebell
@Hanbanxx
Thank you. Spoken to G.p , says higher risk as over 35 so might just be one of those things but has also booked me a blood test to check thyroid and is referring me for a pelvic scan xx

NI101 · 15/12/2020 13:51

@PumpkinEverything the docs recommend you wait until a negative test/your first period before trying again in order to date the new pregnancy accurately. Personally, we started TTC as soon as I stopped bleeding which was around CD7 (CD1 was first day of MC bleeding).

NI101 · 15/12/2020 13:56

@Hopefulmummie you can certainly ovulate whilst still receiving a positive test according to my extensive googling skills. In a situation like yours, i would suggest waiting for AF and then do a test to confirm.

PumpkinEverything · 15/12/2020 13:57

Thank you @NI101 after surgery I was only advised to use protection if we didn’t watch to conceive yet as I could be more fertile, but they actually didn’t tell me to wait, so I haven’t been sure! I will wait until the bleeding has stopped for sure, but didn’t know if I would have to wait for a negative test or not.

bubblybrit · 15/12/2020 14:42

@PumpkinEverything directed me to this page - thank you.

I went for a private scan on Saturday that showed baby had stopped growing at 6+4 (I was expecting to be 10+6). Although they booked a rescan I wasn’t overly hopeful.

I started to miscarry on Sunday evening so called the EPU. They booked me for a scan today and confirmed that I had had a complete miscarriage.

I’m grateful that I didn’t need further intervention but I’m feeling so sad and lost.

At nearly 11 weeks I felt in a good place and had started to plan ahead for a future that involved a toddler and newborn. Everything I ‘planned’ has been taken away so cruelly.

I know that DH and I can try again once everything settles down but feels too raw at DH the moment to even consider that now.

I’ve not read this thread from the beginning yet but I’m so sorry for everyone going through this. It is truly the worst thing I have experienced.

bubblybrit · 15/12/2020 15:09

Sorry I also meant to ask how long did it take for your period to return after your miscarriage? The staff nurse said it could be any time between 2 and 6 weeks so just wanted to see if that sounds about right from those who have experienced it.

I’ve not broached the subject of TTC again with DH as feels too soon but I’m also 37 next year and desperately want a baby.

When did it feel like the right time to start again?

PumpkinEverything · 15/12/2020 15:38

Welcome @bubblybrit 😊 glad to see you on here. I mentioned to my husband that I wanted to start trying again once I was physically ready and he said he was glad as he was too scared to ask as he didn’t want me to feel pressured. Once the bleeding/spotting has stopped for me we’ll see how it goes 😊

bubblybrit · 15/12/2020 15:45

Hi @PumpkinEverything. I think my DH is a little cautious so might be weary about trying so soon after our loss. I think I’ll wait until my first period arrives and then have a conversation with him. It will likely be 2021 by then so hoping it’s a better year!

I dislike the TTC journey in general but will definitely not be able to relax when I (hopefully) see a BFP again!

I’m clearly getting ahead of myself but I’m a worrier by nature anyway.

PumpkinEverything · 15/12/2020 15:50

@bubblybrit my cycles ranged from 34-45 days before I got my BFP so I feel a bit reluctant to wait as I don’t know how long it’s going to take for AF to next arrive 😩 I imagine it’ll be an even longer wait this month.
I’m exactly the same as you, I found it hard to get excited with my pregnancy as I was so worried that something would go wrong all the time as I’m a worrier too. I know I’ll be the same next time (which I hope there is a next time) but trying to tell myself already to just take each day as it comes and not stress as it’s not good for me!

bubblybrit · 15/12/2020 15:58

@PumpkinEverything. I completely understand what you mean. I’m not really looking forward to worrying about cycle length, ovulation, symptoms etc. Find it so stressful. I know I should take it one day at a time but I can never do it when I’m in the midst of everything.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 15/12/2020 16:35

@PumpkinEverything so weird how much advice varies. I was strongly told to wait until after a period, and definitely until after testing negative. They said otherwise it would be hard to say if it was a new pregnancy or if there was an issue with surgery, like retained tissue causing a positive test. They actually told me not to have sex until after a period, but the leaflets they gave me say dont have sex until not bleeding and dont TTC until after next period.

Btw my test was still strong one week post surgery. As strong as before aurgery

Runnergirl1 · 15/12/2020 16:49

So sorry to see new ladies on here. Hopefully you find some comfort from ladies all in the same boat as yourself x

NI101 · 15/12/2020 17:13

When I took my test one week post MMC I got a BFP stronger and quicker than I have ever before. So it does take some time to get a negative. I’d say around 2.5-3week mark.

RS2609 · 15/12/2020 17:13

@Runnergirl1 it’s been so helpful scrolling through and reading so many stories of similar experiences. (And positive outcomes too!)

The hospital told me today my HCG had dropped from 200 on Saturday to 45 on Monday (when everything was pretty much over) and so they have classed it as a complete miscarriage. Relieved that at least that’s been straightforward. Just wondering how long it took everyone to get a negative pregnancy test?

susiebluebell · 15/12/2020 17:54

Hi @bubblybrit and welcome to the only place where a lot of us get to talk about all this stuff! What I'd say is, you and your other half will decide when it's right to start trying again. After the bleeding stops is the only real rule.

For the rest of it, it will take time to process and grieve your loss - not only of the child but of how your thought your life was going to look in x months. This first bit is the hardest and you're doing brilliantly by writing here about it. Don't try and think about all the tracking, ovulation etc yet, it will sort itself out step by step.

I recognised every word you wrote from my own 2020 so if I can get through it, you will too xx

susiebluebell · 15/12/2020 17:55

PS my period came exactly one month after the miscarriage bleeding x

Bellabubble · 15/12/2020 17:57

@PumpkinEverything I didn’t do a test until a week and a half weeks surgical management, and that came up but feint, then I did another one which was 2.5 weeks post surgical and that was vvvvvvvvv feint! A real squinter! My surgery was 3 weeks yesterday. I’m currently not sure when I ovulated - even though I did opks and my bbt - my app says I ovulated Friday just gone - but bbt didn’t rise until Mon morn, and I usually get a big temp spike after I ovulate - my gut instinct given my history of bbt trends says it was on Sunday lol! But I think after mc things can be a bit different for the first cycle!
