@thedaydreambelievers so sorry its rubbish for you! After my mmc surgery the bleeding lasted alot longer than I expected it kept stopping or trialling off and then after 3 days would start again. It lasted for 2 weeks (and i'd already had 3.5 weeks of bleeding prior to that with medical procedure before the surgical) it's draining and like a horrible reminder I really hope it stops soon for you.

vitaminb33 · 11/12/2020 12:30

@MgW1 congratulations! So lovely to see positive news :)

I'm feeling pretty anxious, I was told to do a pregnancy test today (3 weeks after my MVA procedure ). I'm really nervous it will be positive and I'll need to go back to the hospital. My bleeding only stopped fully the day before yesterday which I'm fairly sure is unusual? And my boobs have still been a little sore, so I'm just worried the procedure didn't fully work.

Garman · 11/12/2020 12:55

Can I ask for some advice from those with a bit more experience of this than me? I miscarried last week at 10 weeks, bleeding and cramping started Sunday, Monday night was the worst of the pain/contractions and lots of bleeding, Wednesday I passed the sac, Friday I had lots of further bleeding after a scan showed there was still one clot left. Been spotting since, still red, on and off though, keep thinking it's stopped and there will be a bit more!

Today I did a pregnancy test and ovulation test, purely because both arrived and because my usual period app says its near my fertile window but isn't taking miscarriage into account obviously. I got a faint positive on both, is it normal to still have a faint positive pregnancy test a week later when I'm 99% sure everything is gone?

The ovulation test had a very faint second line, just want to confirm that this actually means it's negative and ovulation isn't imminent?

Thanks in advance x

MSG92 · 11/12/2020 13:07

Hi @Garman I'm not sure about your specific situation but I only took a pregnancy test because my ovulation test was so strong, the pregnancy hormone looks the same as the ovulation hormone to the tests so an ovulation test can sometimes pick up pregnancy (did in my case). Maybe your hcg levels haven't dropped enough yet for a negative result.

HappyVibes · 11/12/2020 13:17

Hi @Garman sending you lots of strength as this time is very hard. It can take a while for hormone levels to resume back to pre pregnancy, so the faint positive is a good sign as indicating that your levels are reducing, just need a tiny bit longer. I wouldn’t take into account any OPK results until you have the full negative pregnancy test as the hormones from pregnancy will effect this. I would also recommend using cheapie OPK for the first cycle at least post MC, instead of clearblue digi, as again, hormones can be picked up and a bit thrown off. Sending you strength lovely 💓xxxxx

Garman · 11/12/2020 14:00

Thanks, oh yeah these are cheapies, I wouldn't be forking out a tenner a go on the digi ones at all!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 11/12/2020 14:12

@Garman I was told for any type of MC it should be negative by 3 weeks after, so 1 week after sounds like it just tailing down.

@Emilu89 thank you Smile. I'm just finding the uncertainty really hard and wanting the bleeding just to go away. It's not bad bleeding and no pain. Just feels endless and I keep thinking it's over and its not

bez91 · 11/12/2020 14:20

@Garman I'd say that's a good sign that the positive is only faint after a week, I'm just over 1 week post MMC surgery and when I took a test on Wednesday I think it's a stronger positive than the one I had when I was actually pregnant 🤦🏼‍♀️

@TheDaydreamBelievers thats crap to hear about bleeding, if any conciliation mine has also ramped up also and I think I had mine 2 days after you. I just want it over with.

susiebluebell · 11/12/2020 14:39

Can't add anything about medically managed MCs but I just wanted to say I'm in awe of you ladies who are going through / have gone through them. You may not feel strong or brave but that's how I see you - I don't think I'd be able to cope with that and I pray I never have to! Please look after yourselves, you're amazing x

TheDaydreamBelievers · 11/12/2020 14:40

Yeah @Garman, like @bez91 after 1 week my test was just as strong as pre surgery

Garman · 11/12/2020 14:45

Okay thank you all so much for your input. I'm just living in fear of being told at my follow up scan next week that I need a D&C, I'm solo parenting most of December with no real back up support so literally couldn't cope if I had to add in a medical procedure just before Christmas too.

RichmondLady1981 · 11/12/2020 16:18

Thanks @J785948 🤗. Let’s see what happens tomorrow x

vitaminb33 · 11/12/2020 22:35

Good luck for your scan next week @Garman, it is really stressful waiting for it to fully over. I was told not to test until 3 weeks had passed, so I would try not to worry too much for now.

I had a bit of good news, my pregnancy test today was completely negative. I was so relieved but it was also a little bit hard, and felt strange hoping so much for a negative on a pregnancy test.

Hi @Garman I hope you are doing ok.

I was in a very similar situation to you. I had a MMC as 9.5 weeks. One week post MC I had a very dark result on the pregnancy test. And my ovulation test said I was at my peak fertility. This obviously did not sound right so after much googling, I found out that the OPK measures LH. LH and HCG have very similar structures so this means the OPK is probably picking up the HCG in your system.

Apparently between HCG is at its peak up until 12weeks of pregnancy and then starts to tail off. Therefore, for women like you and I who miscarried closer towards the 12week mark, our HCG levels are very high and as a result will take longer to get back to “normal” levels.

Im now just over 2 weeks post MC and I’ve given up with OPK as I feel like it gives me false sense of hope. My pregnancy test has a faint positive result. I’m taking this as a good thing as it suggests my HCG levels are decreasing as I had hoped.

I hope that helps x

NI101 · 11/12/2020 22:50

@vitaminb33 I’m happy that you have got your negative, hopefully allowing you to move forward with your plans.

I completely get what you mean. Usually getting a BFN when you hope for a positive is so disappointing. But in our unfortunate circumstances, we want the opposite. It’s completely flipped the situation on its head.

HappyVibes · 12/12/2020 08:07

@RichmondLady1981💓💓💓💫💫💫

RichmondLady1981 · 12/12/2020 13:26

@HappyVibes thanks so much. Still too scared to test! 😬 due AF tomorrow and I’ve had a few of those achey uterus feelings today but let’s see. My BBT did jump up a bit this morning but who knows. 🤷‍♀️

At the moment I feel like I’m just going to sit tight and see if AF comes to crash the party.

Recently a few lovely ladies on here have been quite late getting their AF and still get a BFN so I won’t get my hopes up if I’m late either. If I can stay strong enough, I’ll just sit it out until Tuesday/Wednesday then test. (Unless I lose the battle of will and run upstairs and test later tonight!! Haha 😂)

susiebluebell · 12/12/2020 20:09

Got my fingers and toes crossed for you @RichmondLady1981!

Wishingfornumber2 · 13/12/2020 00:06

Have everything crossed for you @RichmondLady1981! Day 48 for me, tested this morning and bfn. Just don’t know what is going on!!

RichmondLady1981 · 13/12/2020 06:30

Thank you @susiebluebell and @Wishingfornumber2. AF due today so let’s see.

Wishing... how long was your previous cycle? What cycle are you on since you Mc?

SS123456 · 13/12/2020 07:44

@RichmondLady1981 fingers crossed for you x

TheDaydreamBelievers · 13/12/2020 08:14

Congratulations @SS123456!

I'm still chilling around in limbo. Still bleeding after surgery. Started taking temps again just for the habit and they are so random it's almost funny (36.32 one day, 36.63 the next, 36.4 the next - like a yoyo)

Hanbanxx · 13/12/2020 08:32

@SS123456 amazing! Congratulations ❤️ please could you remind us of your story? Xx
