It won't go any further 😂 I managed to get it all the way 'in' so none was poking out of me but literally no room to push it "up" to go behind the pubic bone 🤨

Lori23TTC · 06/01/2021 18:19

@MrsKin90 it’s only because I have been using the soft discs this month and it’s the same motion. I have to do it really slowly tho and need to either be on your AF or use lube, don’t think I would get it up there otherwise. I find it easiest on the loo - not sure how to explain but really push your tailbone down as if your sticking your boobs out and that’s the best position for me personally 🤣 and kind of wiggle it in very slowly - once it’s mostly in I have to push quite hard to get it fully in and behind the tailbone. Keep trying with it and maybe try it lying down see if that helps as you will be more relaxed. X

Lori23TTC · 06/01/2021 18:21

Public bone not tailbone haha don’t try and put it behind the tailbone 🤣

eloiseislost · 06/01/2021 18:57

@Lori23TTC I was about to say, you ain't getting pregnant if you're tucking it under the tailbone, that's the wrong entrance! 🍑🤣😂🤣

MrsKin90 · 06/01/2021 20:00

🤣 I'm not doing it THAT incorrectly.
It definitely isn't going to work for me 🤔 I can get it "in" but not into a position where it holds its place and I can feel it from the entrance. I'm giving up for now until I've ovulated and I'll play with it a bit more after that. 😊 Thanks so much ladies for your advice and patience!! Very much appreciated even if I have failed lol

primrosechill · 06/01/2021 22:46

All this talk of things going “in but not up” is freaking me out 😂 I really should give a cup a go at some point - surely if my vaginismus allows me to get a syringe in, it should be okay with a cup too? 🤔

Quick question: I love a bath but always wonder if I should avoid during the fertile week. I will expose my ignorance here but is there any chance it can genuinely harm my chances? Thoughts? xx

eloiseislost · 07/01/2021 07:15

@primrosechill Have a look at this re: baths

www.romper.com/pregnancy/can-you-take-a-bath-when-youre-trying-to-conceive-science-weighs-in-76130

Unless you are using boiling water, you should be fine!

bigsweetpotato · 07/01/2021 09:26

Hello all and thanks so much for the well wishes. It is all very new - only did the test yesterday and it said 2-3 wks from conception so it’s about 5 weeks since last period. Super super early days but trying to relax and hope it sticks. Contacted the doctor this morning to see what next.

Re the method, we SI’d the most that we’d ever tried before! 4 times which is like loads for us. I didn’t do any OPKs this time, because Ive been using them for all of 2020 and wanted a break! So we just started SI from cd7/8 every 2 days. I tried to feel my cervix in the shower and *think it felt softer the last day we tried but not 100%. Tried to do one more SI the night I thought I was ovulating but we couldn’t manage it. Tried to take temps as well but put the thermometer away after the last try. We used a cup and a flat syringe. I put a bit of preseed inside me then waited a bit for the spermies to liquify then did the syringe. I think I left the syringe inside for about 25 mins with my legs up and like 3 pillows under my hips while watching bit of tv! I preferred squeezing syringe slowish and then leaving syringe in there for a while as the times that I took it out immediately I found loads of leakage which freaked me out!

For the softcup - I put a bit of preseed on the edge so it would help going in, squeezed the sides and popped it in. Kinda going diagonally upwards towards bum? I got everything ready around me and did everything lying down! I don’t really know if it was in the right place but it was behind the bone so I’m guessing it was. I tried to O after I put the cup in but can’t remember if I did everytime. I left the cup in all night - not saying that this helps, it’s just me being lazy and just wanting to sleep! Then had multiple accidents getting it out the next morning... maybe tmi but still a lot of liquid the next day... I found the softcups much better than the fertillilly cup that I was using because i found it hard to push the fertililly up there if you know what I mean! Hope that helps everyone. Sorry for the essay x

bigsweetpotato · 07/01/2021 09:31

Ps. Pic for reference if you put it in lying down! I turned the pic sideways 🤪 the circle is the bone and I found it naturally sits behind that one you get it in there

Makingnumber2 · 07/01/2021 09:48

Thanks so much for sharing that @bigsweetpotato that is really helpful Smile
What day do you usually ov on would you say?
I think we will try 2 days this cycle instead of every day but I don't usually ov til day 16/17- so want to work out when we would start.

And final question- is your cup a ziggy one like MrsKin's? Or like a moon cup one?

I've already given up with temps because I haven't been sleeping well so am tossing and turning from 5ish and this is reflecting in my readings when I temp at the time I officially 'get up' and out of bed.

MrsKin90 · 07/01/2021 10:46

@primrosechill hehe sorry for freaking you out!! The link posted by @eloiseislost is really helpful! Personally if I'm worried I make sure I have a cold glass or bottle of water nearby to drink whilst I'm in the bath if I worry I'm getting too hot as I like my bath to make my skin bright red 😁

@bigsweetpotato oh that diagram looks different to the other ones I've seen and I'd say that's probably how my cup was sitting but it didn't seem right as the pictures I saw showed them as popped neatly over the cervix and not in the vaginal canal. So helpful to hear how you went about everything!

@Makingnumber2 my BBT is all over the place for the same reason!

bigsweetpotato · 07/01/2021 17:17

@Makingnumber2 I feel like my ov fluctuates between cd 12 and 14 days so I just started SI 7 days before on cd7. The first one was like a test run to get rid of old swimmers, then we did every other day. (Sorry said every 2 days in last post but meant every other day) I use the ones called Softdisc - think someone suggested them on here a while back. I got them from amazon

@MrsKin90 that diagram was the closest I found to how I **felt like it was sitting inside / the angle I put it in at, but it is a bit tricky!! I would get confused between what it felt like in the shower and lying down so it must be different depending on what position that you put the cup in?! I was never very good at maths rotation in school lol. I think if you get it behind the bone then it's probably covering the right place because then it doesn't really move xx

MrsKin90 · 08/01/2021 11:39

@bigsweetpotato I'd convinced myself my pubic bone was in the wrong place 😂 thank you for being so helpful! I'm so excited for you.

Is it weird that if people I know in real life get pregnant I turn into a pregnancy Grinch, but when someone on this thread gets pregnant it feels like a personal victory?! 🥰

I feel like I should be doing more SI but we did our practice one on CD9 and aren't bothering again until tomorrow or Sunday, CD12/13 depending how we feel. I've also not been taking seven seas TTC pills as I couldn't find any and meant to order some online but still haven't 😬, so will see how that affects ovulation and my LP!! I'm finding it difficult to care about this cycle, not sure if that's cos I've had enough, or I've given up believing it's ever going to happen. 🤔 Maybe I just need a little break from it being so intense.

How is everyone doing?

Sydney1986x · 08/01/2021 12:50

TWW is driving me insane. Trying to keep positive and hopeful. Every time I think about getting BFP I get butterflies Blush it really does feel like a lifetime waiting xx

eloiseislost · 08/01/2021 13:13

@MrsKin90 It sounds like you want to be more laid back about it, and that's not a bad thing! 😊 I think by now you know roughly when you ovulate, so you probably don't even need to SI until closer to the time. That's exactly what I did the cycle I got pregnant, not that it means anything necessarily, but I think it goes to show that while at first you intensely monitor your cycles, after a while, you just know when the right time is. As for the supplements, I think that's another thing we do to give us a sense of control but, in reality, who knows if and how they work! 🤷🏻‍♀️
I am the opposite of you this cycle, most likely due to the MC. Following SMEP to the letter, OPKs, BBT… And SO MANY supplements! 💊🤣 It feels like I'm back to cycle 1, my behaviour and mentality reminds me of when we first started trying. I guess it's a fresh start, in a way!

eloiseislost · 08/01/2021 13:15

@Sydney1986x 2WW is cruel! I hope it ends with good news for you!! 🤞🏼 When is AF due? Are you going to test?

Sydney1986x · 08/01/2021 13:34

@eloiseislost it really is isn’t it! Thank you, I hope so too. Want this soo much! We are due to get married in May and I am romanticising telling our nearest and dearest at a micro wedding.. it’s crazy how our minds run away with us Blush!

AF is due around the 17th so about another week to go. I am doing everything I can not to take a test early but the struggle is real lol.. even my OH is asking me too but I know I will get obsessive. Would it be worth it or best to wait?

How are you doing? Xx

eloiseislost · 08/01/2021 13:50

@Sydney1986x Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, you must be so excited! A few friends of mine had to settle for a micro wedding due to the pandemic but they all said that it was just as beautiful as they imagined their wedding day to be! I hope it's the same for you! 🙂💕

You asked the wrong person for advice on testing!! 🤣 Normally I start testing at 7/8DPO onwards, every single morning! To be honest, it is absolutely pointless. In November I got a BFP at 11DPO but ended up in an MC in December. Now, looking back, I wish I hadn't tested until AF was late by a few days or even a week. I would've had less time to let my mind wander and dream about the future… 💔
I think it all depends on how you feel. If you'd rather know early and you don't mind a few BFNs, go for it. But, as my DH says, if you're pregnant, you'll find out eventually, it's not like it happen without you. 😅

Sydney1986x · 08/01/2021 15:55

Thank you so much! We’ve postponed twice so really hoping we get to have our day no matter what. That’s lovely to hear your friends have had amazing weddings despite the pandemic, so reassuring! I am quite excited about the idea of something small and intimate now 🤭😃

Ah, I am so sorry to hear about your MC. I can’t imagine how devastating that must be for you both 💔! I really hope you are ok and take care of yourself lovely.

I feel like if i start testing I will get obsessed with it tbh 😩 so maybe it is best I don’t? & that’s so true.. if it is a BFP we will find out at some point.

Wishing us all loads of luck and baby dust this month 💫💫 ! So thankful I have found this forum and a safe place to chat to people in the same fertility ‘boat’ xx

MrsKin90 · 09/01/2021 16:18

@Sydney1986x how exciting that you're getting married soon. Something to look forward to however small a gathering it may be 👰💒.
I hope it's perfect, even if not perfectly how you imagined it.
I would give a vote for not testing until you're late 😊it's exciting to think about getting a bfp, sometimes I think about it so much it keeps me up at night and I feel sick which I don't think is healthy lol. Hope your tww hurries along so you can test!

@eloiseislost your husband is very wise! This is what I try to tell myself as well. If you're pregnant, testing early won't make a difference! The problem I have is I've no idea when I'm going to ovulate as my ovaries are assholes that chop and change and keep to a secret schedule 🤨. The last few cycles it's been CD16,14,16 and that's been since taking Myo inositol so that's interesting. Before that was anywhere from CD16 to 26, or not at all! I'm really interested in the effect Myo inositol seems to have had on my EWCM. Prior to taking it I used get it in two surges, a few days around CD9/10 and then again just before actual ovulation. For the last three cycles I've had a smaller amount and only once right before ovulation. So it must be doing something!

I think sometimes we do as much as we can because those are the only things we can control and I imagine you need all the control you can get after a loss. ❤️ What supplements are you taking?

eloiseislost · 09/01/2021 17:18

@MrsKin90 This is what I'm taking this cycle. Conceive+ multivitamins, omega 3, cough syrup (5 days leading up to ovulation -works wonders for CM) and pineapple core (1DPO-5DPO).
By the way, if you ever wondered what is it like eating the core of a pineapple, it's like eating a slice of tree trunk! 🤣🍍
11DPO today, we are following SMEP this cycle so we SI on 8 and 10, next one scheduled for tomorrow. I usually ovulate between CD12-15, hopefully that'll be the case this month too.
Interesting about the myo inositol, I think the Conceive+ multivitamins contain that too.

Sydney1986x · 10/01/2021 11:40

Thank you so much @MrsKin90 !! 7 or so days to go to find out if BFP air BFN. I don’t feel the same symptoms pre period as I usually would but well aware my mind might be playing tricks on me. Trying my best to keep busy and occupied. Xx

Ttc2017 · 10/01/2021 17:34

Hi is this thread still running

Ttc2017 · 10/01/2021 17:35

Hi not sure if I'm in right place im waiting for iui to start next month hopefully I have 2 dc and suffered terrible hyperemesis which has put me off so much but am taking the risk now

Janefx40 · 10/01/2021 18:19

Hi everyone! Good luck to those of your in your 2WW. It's always hellish - I always fluctuate between wanting to test early and not wanting to take away the possibility that I could be pregnant by seeing a negative test.

I've been reading through the thread for advice and hopefully have picked up a bit from you all. I'm going to do my first insemination tonight! DP struggles to have sex two days running so I figure it is worth a chance. We are almost totally infertile too (usually have to do ICSI) but hope springs eternal.

I have no proper equipment but I have sterilised a urine sample cup using boiled water and have a calpol syringe. I thought I might put a tiny amount of conception lubricant in there too - I see others have used this internally. Interested to see someone say that they wait for the sperm to liquify before putting into the syringe. Is that the best way to do it?

No worries if you don't have time to reply. I realise I am cheeky to burst in and ask for advice.

Wishing baby dust to you all xxx
