Hi everyone, I've been lurking this thread for the past few days so thought I would join in. Hope that's okay and you'll have me! Blush

TTC via SI as DTD is very painful for me and if we relied on the rare times I feel up to it chances of having a baby would be very low! So helping nature take its course via a pot and syringe.

I'm not very precisely tracking my ovulation atm because while I know good timing would increase our chances I have OCD and it seems like something I'd easily become obsessive and distressed over, so for the moment we're just trying when I'm in my "fertile window" based off my period tracking app, and I'll reconsider more precise timing if no luck in a year or so... just finishing our first cycle, so VERY early days yet!

Good luck to all of you and stay safe x

Birchybirch · 20/11/2020 18:59

I'm glad it's not just me who "works out" after SI. I have done just hips raised in like a glue bridge, but this month I've been rocking too, and dipping one hip, then the other. I've also decided to do a plank type thing, so legs on the bed, shoulders on the floor, and try and rotate like some kind of rotisserie chicken - it's a lot harder than I thought it was going to be, when I randomly decided to do it the other day! 😂

primrosechill · 20/11/2020 19:05

Big fat LOL at all of these stories - we're all supposedly intelligent, mature women - it's amazing what gymnastics we get into to help on our TTC journey 😂

@crocheted welcome! glad that you've taken the leap to turn from a lurker to a contributor - this is a really lovely thread so hoping you'll find the support you need here xx

MrsKin90 · 20/11/2020 20:35

@Oilyoilyoilgob bless you, sounds like a lovely takeaway and peaceful evening is very much deserved ❤️

@crocheted welcome 😊 I hope this method works for you and you feel comfortable here! Goodluck!!

@Birchybirch that's a bit next level 😂🤸

Lori23TTC · 20/11/2020 22:09

@primrosechill that really made me giggle about the partners 🤣 I often get my hubby to hold my legs up too haha I tend to just lie with my legs up and don’t really move.. sometimes I roll side to side with my legs hugged into my chest - actually feels quite nice on my back. Then after 30 mins or so I have a wee and go to bed, I do sleep on my side tho. The sperm are meant to swim through the hole in the cervix right? It’s so hard to know if you have inseminated in the right place, I just put it in not in any particular direction as I can never find my cervix anyway 🤣 x

Lori23TTC · 20/11/2020 22:16

@Birchybirch I just realised I replied but hadn’t read the last page 🤣 what you wrote made me laugh.. rotisserie chicken 🤣🤣

@Oilyoilyoilgob not nice for your poor cat to have a slipped disc I hope she’s ok 🥰 sounds like you had a lovely evening tho! Xx

Oilyoilyoilgob · 21/11/2020 08:27

@Lori23TTC it was lovely, I deliberately over ordered so I have some left today 🐷 ha! Went upstairs with lady 2 and fell asleep on the floor with her as husband was tired and wanted to watch something I didn’t. It was very relaxing!

OMG rotisserie chicken, this is amazing! I’m cackling thinking of it 😂

Welcome @crocheted I think you’ll like it here ☺️ How amazing you’ve started trying and the very best of luck to you! From reading on here and online it seems every other day during your fertile period is good so it’s great you’re not getting too focussed on timings. Good luck 🍀

I’m just about to do another insemination, there’ll be no rotisserie chickening from me I’m going to play Among Us 🤭😅

Good luck @oilyoilyoilgob! We'll do ours later today. Did another round of opks this morning /earlier today, and they both show 0, so methinks the 80% one the other day was a fluke, and that my peak may be later in the month. Contemplating maybe buying a thermometer for next month if it doesn't happen this month... Its one more thing to get hung up on, but may also be useful to show docs if we need to speak to someone in the new year... X

primrosechill · 21/11/2020 16:04

Hello ladies! Hope you’re all having a good weekend. @Oilyoilyoilgob hope your morning session went well! I am currently lying with my legs up against the wall after SI-ing. Managed to get a good ol orgasm this time as well so fingers crossed this is our cycle. With so many of us inseminating at the same time this month, surely statistically we’re meant to get at least one positive this time round?! 🤞🏼

@DinkBoo @eloiseislost how are both of you feeling? Any new early pregnancy symptoms? 🤰🤗

eloiseislost · 21/11/2020 16:10

@primrosechill Hello! I'm good, thank you! 🙃 Tired, bloated, gassy, on and off nauseated, but so far so good! I have developed an aversion to cake and pretty much anything sweet, which DH says it makes him question the paternity! 🤣
Spoke with the midwife yesterday, she will phone again in a couple of weeks to arrange the booking appointment.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend! I read the thread every day and keeping my fingers crossed for everyone! 🤞🏼
I was thinking the other day how awesome it would be if we had a mums & gobble gobble babies meet up one day? 🦃😆

MrsKin90 · 21/11/2020 19:10

There's a lot of SI going on for you all today!! 😊 Very exciting!
@Birchybirch I take my BBT and really like it. I couldn't manage OPKs and have PCOS so would get cross at false positives. BBT at least tells me when we can stop SI for the cycle. You could always try it and quit if you find it too stressful.

@eloiseislost so lovely to hear you're getting on okay! If pregnancy guaranteed an aversion to sweetness I'd have started TTC years ago as it's definitely the reason for my weight!! 😂I'm not sure about calling ourselves Gobble Gobble mum's in the future though, not out loud anyway!!

I'm 11dpo today. Sore boobs started today. Nothing else to report other than I'm going crazy!!

primrosechill · 22/11/2020 16:31

@MrsKin90 you’re in the exciting but scary period now - hope your sympoms are really a sign of something good this time 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Nothing new to report today other than that I’m pretty sure I ovulated either yesterday or earlier today (CD11 or 12, so at least a day earlier than usual - maybe the digital test was onto something after all) - we’ll maybe squeeze in one more SI tonight just to be super safe but then the syringe box goes under the bed! Big hugs!

MrsKin90 · 22/11/2020 17:42

@primrosechill thank you 😊 I usually start spotting on 12dpo but nothing so far 🤞🤞 so that's a good sign whichever way it goes. As spotting 2/3 days leading up to AF properly starting is bloody annoying. I've been having a few cramps today though so not so hopeful. Although I looked at my chart and have logged cramps every single day for 14 days 😂
How exciting that your tww is here already 😊 I hope it goes quick for you! Have you managed to SI as much as you wanted to?

Oilyoilyoilgob · 22/11/2020 18:33

Hi everyone!

@eloiseislost so pleased to hear everything is going well! Delighted to log on and see good news ☺️ Oh I’d absolutely love a gobble meet up. When we do it whoever books the place should book their surname as gobble 😂

@MrsKin90 I’m keeping everything crossed for you! Really good no spotting yet so hopefully you get some positive news 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@primrosechill I agree and was thinking the same-hopefully one of us hits the jackpot as there’s been a heap loads of SI, we are all on it this month 💪🏻
I did my opks and it came out as peak on the 20th today. I have a roughly 34 day cycle so it could be either so im currently keeping warm another pot of sperm to SI. My poor husband 😅 think his testicles are going to stop working haha!

Fingers crossed and lots of luck to everyone and have a lovely Sunday night xx

OP posts:
Birchybirch · 22/11/2020 19:32

Happy Sunday y'all!

This month has certainly been an interesting one! I did my two opks today as normal. The CB one said 0 again, but then a couple of hours later, the cheapie recorded a low high. I realised that the reading is based on a second pink line, that hadn't appeared on any of the previous tests. The "high" the app had read the other day was based on a random dark line that had appeared. Intelligent recording my eye!

It seems therefore like I'm probably yet to arrive at the ovulation station! The SI's from the last few days certainly won't have done us any harm though! Will do another tonight too.

Definitely think the temperature check is a good idea for me in future (if necessary), as my wee sticks may not be enough for helping me build up a picture....! Feels like I'm slowly piecing together those jigsaw puzzle pieces...

Good to hear everyone is doing well! Keeping everything crossed for us all! 🤞 X

DinkBoo · 23/11/2020 09:29

Fingers tightly crossed @MrsKin90!

@primrosechill I'm ok, thanks for asking Smile. Still lurking here and enjoying everyone's gymnastic antics and updates Grin but replying less as my brain is rarely working well enough for actual online conversation Blush.

I think I've now forgotten what it feels like to not feel nauseous, bloated, gassy, and knackered all the time and every trip to the loo still gives me the fear just in case (bleeding stopped dead the day after my scan, which worried me, but I had a little at half 5 this morning which I'm really hoping is just a blip, but which also worried me). Blush

I'm hoping this week's scan goes well and that helps me relax a bit more. I'm not normally a superstitious person but I feel like I can't get too excited or talk about it as real too much or I'll jinx it.

Oilyoilyoilgob · 23/11/2020 09:30

Hi @Birchybirch that’s interesting re the opks. I still haven’t even opened the digital one yet.

The opk I did yesterday to me was just shy of being as dark as the control line. However I took the picture of it in two different spots on my bathroom and one said peak, the other said high. I think that the strip I did on the 20th was the darkest. That’s with taking the pic on the same spot under the same lighting yesterday so I’m always conscious to make a note to myself on the darkest ones as I think taking pictures might not always be 100% accurate.

If we are not successful this month then I will use both the sticks and the digital next month, it’s too late to start the digital now as I’m cd24 so I think I’d have ovulated. My period tracker app shows ovulation last week, premom shows it today so I’ll keep on with my sticks so the premom app gets a more accurate picture.

I really do hope another of us hits he jackpot, there really has been a huge flurry of SI going on so I’m praying one of us gets pregnant. It would be so lovely 🤞🏻

Lovely and crisp and frosty here today, I’ve topped up the bird feeders and water. The sun was shining and everything looked beautiful. I love this time of year and as part of being nice mentally took a few moments to soak it in. Good for the soul. Hope everyone has a great week xx

Hi all, new here :) re-starting this AI journey after a cp in September!

Birchybirch · 23/11/2020 11:31

Ah hi @shelbyrae 🙋‍♀️ this is a fun group to be in. I've only been here a couple of weeks, but everyone is so lovely and welcoming.

@oilyoilyoilgob did the CB one this morning as always and I've got the flashing smiley, yay. Will SI again for the next few days (poor husband will be a shell of a man 😂) and hopefully will get the solid "peak" smiley tomorrow or wed.

I'm aware of course that we could do everything right and it still not work, so I'm very cautiously optimistic...

I love crisp, bright mornings! Hope everyone has a great week! I'm on annual leave this week, so may get the Christmas Dec's down at some point... May as well! X

Birchybirch · 23/11/2020 11:33

Ooh I don't know why my post included the ♀️ symbol...!

shelbyrae · 23/11/2020 11:43

@Birchybirch haha thanks! Glad to have found this group, hopefully it'll make this tww go a little faster :)

Oilyoilyoilgob · 23/11/2020 12:01

Hello @shelbyrae and good luck! Sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancy and all the best for your tww-lots of us coming into it too!

@Birchybirch does flashing mean you’re about to ovulate? It says on my sticks the best time to check for ovulation is between 2-10pm so I’m going to do a couple today, see what’s what.
Then actually I’ll keep doing them so the premom app can get some info from me because I’ve been very lazy with them. I need to keep doing them until my period so it can figure me out, something needs to 😂 good luck on SI.
Think ours yesterday was day 12, we started too early. Husband nearly sweating last night at the thought of harvesting the goods haha!

Aww have a really lovely week off and enjoy this lovely crisp weather and the Christmas decorating 😍 xx

Birchybirch · 23/11/2020 14:16

Ah thank you @oilyoilyoilgob. Ironically I'm actually in a work "meeting" at the mo - listening to an update about our offices, and where we will be working post covid...

Hmm the CB ones say 1st wee, and the cheapies say between 10am and 8pm, so I do those at about 1pm. The flashing smiley means estrogen is peaking, so LH should follow in the next day or two. Strangely the cheapie one showed no peak today, ha who knows what's going on in there!

In the words of Dory "just keep sperming..."

DinkBoo · 23/11/2020 15:49

@Birchybirch thanks for just making me snort out loud and wake the cat up with that last line Grin

Hi @shelbyrae! Sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancy, very good luck for the future.

And of course to everyone tww'ing at the moment. Star

Birchybirch · 23/11/2020 16:15

@DinkBoo ha, apologies to your cat! Hope you're still doing OK, and that your scan goes well! X
