TTC 8 months in, still early days but starting to feel more and more every time AF arrives

Thought I'd start this post as hoping there are some lovely ladies in a similar boat to me.

DH and I are now 8 months in TTC and no luck. We both really want it to happen though he does have a son already so not always as emotional about AFs arrival every month as I am.

I know it's early days still and some have to go a lot longer but I'm now starting to get to the worried/upset stage. Get pangs of sadness when I see a baby bump or something pregnancy related in the shops, on TV or online.

Would love to hear and support others who are in the same boat as me

@CausingChaos2 we dtd on Monday night so if I was spotting yesterday morning I might have put it down to that but we didn't DTD last night x

@Crazydoglady123 I wasn't expecting it for another day or two so it was a shock, I guess it's better than waiting though!
@sparkylauz I have had that spotting a couple of times, the first time I had no idea what was going on but I think it's normal from what I've read online and seen on here. Your nearly at your fertile window, fingers crossed for you.

Urgh the dreaded end of the TWW. I hate this time, anyone else? I feel suspended between talking myself out of it, and thinking every symptom is a sign.

This time round, I've had a few days of gentle cramps, and really sore boobs, sorest ever! Why is my body teasing me!

AF could be any day now, going to try and hold out on testing as cycle varies from 24 to 30 days, so being on day 26 I should really just sit it out for now.. Right behind you most probably @Lovebug06, trying to put some positivity on it so I don't feel as bad as I did right before Christmas..

I'm wondering if the spotting us from ovulation and I've ovulated earlier. I had very slippery cm on Sunday so it would make sense if ovulation happened yesterday or today. I'm sooo confused. Wonder if i get a positive opk at all this weekend and if i don't then ile know i ovulated early. Fingera crossed this is the case X

I did roll my eyes seeing Elle Darby “TTC journey” falling 1st cycle she ovulated when women like you really know the struggle & have a proper TTC journey to tell! I know you are all longing for babies & hope it is not long now!

Just to hopefully bring a smile (or frown but hope not!) I’ve finally hit trimester 2 (13+4) & we found out via our harmony test that this little bub sucking it’s thumb is a girl! 💖 just wanted to send a wee update & send you all lots of love!!! xxxxxx

Hello ladies, does anyone have short lh phase? Low progesterone? X

@laura2093 yeah mine is around 10 days, not sure if i have low progesterone or not though? X

@SparkyLauz mine is the same, waiting on bloods back to see if it is low xxx

I normally have a short luteal, sometimes as low as 8 days, but can be up to 12/13 days.. A friend who got pregnant quickly with her first said she has mostly under 10 days, and said that her doc told her it shouldn't matter.

This month, now on 15 DPO, was being really good and not wasting a test, but gave in this morning... only to get a BFN. Still no AF.

I've been ttc number 3 for 8months now, came off my pill last June after 10years
I've tried to take a relaxed approach but I'm finding that more difficult as time goes on. Really feel for the ladies who have been trying for so long ❤
My cycles still vary from 22 -26 days I've also recently had a 18 day cycle...just when u think your back on track 🙄🙈.
I've tried opks my lh starts to rise but I've never seen a peak so this does worry me slightly that I might not be ovulating. Does anyone else struggle with this? I was thinking if trying the clearblue advanced ovulation tests does anyone recommend these?

Welcome @Pip1903. It is a lovely group. I have been tracking with Easy at Home OPKs, but also use the Clear Blue digital ovulation test kit. I think I have more confidence in the clear blue ones. Best of luck and baby dust to you.

Sorry to hear about the early arrival of AF ladies. I'm in the same boat this month...

Really don't know what's going on this cycle. I seemed to ovulate a few days earlier than expected, then had symptoms that weren't usual for me so symptom spotting went into overdrive! I usually spot on and off about a week before AF is due, but this cycle I've been spotting for longer and more constant and now AF has arrived earlier. I normally have a 29day cycle and this cycle is 26days. I started taking Seven Seas Trying for a Baby a couple of weeks a go and not sure if that is having an impact at all.

I called the dr last week and mentioned about the spotting, she said I should book in to have an internal examination to check I don't have a polyp or anything else that might be causing it. Which I was going to have today but think i'll postpone now AF has made an appearance!!

@Pip1903 hi lovely!! Have you had any testing done yet? So sorry to here you’re in the same (sinking) ship as us 😅😂 bloody sucks doesn’t it!! I use the easy @ home cheapies from Amazon and clear blue as well when I’m feeling fancy as it’s just FMU and so much easier!!! They’re much easier to read and I feel somewhat happier then trying to make out lines 🥴

@RCF2503x that’s really strange!!!! Funny you say that, I started taking seven seas this cycle, (first time ever) and I got my static smiley Friday on CD12 and positive east @ home the next day too so CD13! Which is early for me. I usually don’t ovulate until around CD18 as I was having longish cycles of 32 days 😬 I also didn’t notice much EWCM this cycle so glad I was testing when I was!! But funny it seemed to have brought forward both our ov dates? I’ve read lots about it making cycles longer but not shorter 😩 hopefully it’s just a blip as I have had the odd shorter cycle. Definitely go for your scan when you can it’ll really put your mind at ease. Do you take any other supplements?

How’s everyone else getting on? I’m still rooting for us all quietly in the background 🥰 think I’ll be gutted to see AF this cycle as I have upped my vitamin intake, cut caffeine down and alcohol. Used pre-seed and SMEP!!! 😂😂 first time ever but hey positive January thoughts ey!

I have a doctors app this evening about it now being over a year. I'm nervous, but it's time.
I saw another influencer put up her pregnancy, conceived literally the first time they got together how?!
On another note, a family friend was going for ivf, was over 2 and a half years of trying, and when she went for the first examination type thing and they scanned and checked, there was a baby. A miracle right? That kind of thing gives me hope when I feel crap. Not that I'm in anyway that far along but how amazing is that?

@RCF2503x I tried the sevens seas when first came off the pill but my cycle was 54days so decided to stick with the folic acid and vit D. I tried them again recently and had a 18day cycle, they def seem to mess with my cycles. Thanks for the advice will give the clear blue a go 😊
@Izzie94 I've not had any recent testing because of already having children although I did have irregular bleeding after my daughter I did have an internal scan and they put it down to hormone imbalance. I never considered it being an issue as we weren't planning on having any more children until more recently. I feel terrible complaining when I'm luckily blessed with 2 children . Yes I love the idea of the clearblue using fmu as I'm terrible holding to go 🤣...what vitamins or supplements do you take if you dont mind me asking?
@Lovebug06 I was very lucky with my first 2 however me and hubby were alot younger 🙈...my son it took 3months of the pill and my daughter I had the implant removed and never had a period it was that quick!! so was extremely lucky. Hope all goes well with your doctor's appt 😊

Hi @Pip1903 welcome! I've noticed my cycle has been different on the vitamins too, makes you wonder whether they are really a good idea..

@Lovebug06 I hope the docs goes ok, the blood tests my doc advised were on day 4 and day 21, the day 21 was for progesterone I think?

On my side, I held out 2 days between testing, still no AF, and last night decided I'd test again this morning. Was too nervous to sleep!

Got the faintest line on a test this morning, 17 dpo, but I'm worried I'm imagining it! Will have to wait another 2 days to test again. I can't believe that after 13 cycles, I can't even get a decent test result!!!

@Lovebug06 how did it go at the docs, hope it was all positive? That story really gives me hope! I know "just relax it will happen" is a major gripe for us all but it does seem so true!

I'm currently 5 days late but my cycles do differ by a day or 2. Tested Sat and got a BFN so going to hold out a bit longer before I do again. Strangely not had any PMT up until the last couple of days when I've started getting awful (more than normal) cramps that are so sharp! Sounds daft but my lower abdomen just feels really full, not bloated but like I have the worlds heaviest period about to land (TMI sorry) so really not getting my hopes up, prob just my body playing tricks and sending me into symptom spotting overdrive!!

Guys, what an emotional rollercoaster. So, I worked out yesterday that my very faint line was very likely a BFP, esp because DH agreed he could see it, so got all excited of course..

Woke up in the middle of the night feeling mega stressed, couldn't sleep at all, so decided to take a test. BFN, no line at all. Then the cramps kicked in, and this morning AF arrived.

BUT! I have decided this is mega positive! This seems to have been a very early miscarriage, which is huge - now I know that the plumbing is working! I'm actually feeling happier today than I have for months :D

Just wanted to share this with the group - this journey is such a rollercoaster, you've got to take the small wins as they come!

@Pip1903 wanted to say that its really good to hear you also have short cycles, mine are av 26 days, and most people seem to tend for longer rather than shorter.. Just nice to know that I'm not that unusual :)

@tavileh sorry for the bfn ...but I think it's amazing you've taken a positive from it ..I agree I think it's a massive relief since you realise everything does work!!
Yes its good listening to other peoples experiences as sometimes u can feel alone. This group has honestly helped me feel more relaxed too which I think helps massively.🙂

How’s everyone doing? So sorry I haven’t been able to keep up. I do keep checking but trying not to obsess too much this month (albeit I’m not sure why I think this effects my fertility) 😂😂

@30somethingyorkie I can definitely see something!!! Assuming that wasn’t FMU either? Ahhhh keep us posted lovely!!!! I’m assuming AF still hasn’t shown? Keeping my fingers and toes crossed x
