No idea how we managed to smash through 1,000 messages (40% of them are probably me anyway, ha!) in such a short space of time, but a new thread is needed for the post pill TTC party, so here it is...

@Kay00 I’m planning on tracking ovulation but wasn’t sure whether to wait until I’d had a bleed first, if there’s any point doing it yet?

Congrats on AF @Sperr the first period post pill was the only one I was pleased to see 😂

@Jaffatotparty there is no harm in taking them now if you are using the cheapies obviously if you are using the expensive ones it could be a waste, I get mine from saves 5 for £1 so at 20p each you could POAS just for something to do 😂😂 some people do ovulate straight after coming off the pill so it’s entirely up to you.

@sperr hmmm... im not sure, maybe take a little pee cup in? You'll need to wash it out between uses though so that might not be so easy. Maybe just pee on the sticks in the afternoon/evenings when you're home?

@jaffatotparty great! I would recommend charting your temperature but it doesn't suit everyone. OPKs are great as they can tell you when your likely to ovulate (as they show when you're having an LH surge which leads to ovulation) but they can't prove that you have ovulated (i sometimes get 2 x surges before I ovulate). Whereas temping helps you identify whether you have ovulated or not as your temperature will shift upwards after ovulation (hence my excitement this morning)!

First time TTC, came off the pill towards the beginning of August having been on the pill or the implant for over a decade. Had a breakthrough bleed as usual and then a 'proper' period 32 days later, so was hopeful things were getting back to normal...Got cramping this month at CD31/32 so thought period would come but nothing. Now on CD40, tested yesterday and BFN so not sure what my body is doing! I think if I'd actually started my period I would not be bothered but the delay is frustrating. I went into this thinking I would try not to get too caught up in it but being late made me feel hopeful.

@kay00 did you ever get a positive opk btw? I'm playing devil's advocate here but if you end up having an abnormally long LP I'm thinking CD25 could have been OD potentially! Hopefully we'll never know cause you'll get your BFP 🤞

Hi @Jaffatotparty, you are at exactly the same point as me, almost 2 weeks off the pill and just waiting for 'something' to happen so I can start tracking properly. I did pee on a couple of ovulation tests this week in case anything was happening but doesn't look like it!

It's completely normal to feel like it's all very overwhelming and have no idea where to start - I'm trying for my 2nd this time around so am familiar with the acronyms and the process but still have moments of 'how the hell didn't I know all this stuff about my own body til now?!'.

Hi @curcurbita welcome, I’ve been fairly lucky my periods have been pretty regular since stopping the pill 29-30 days, I stopped in June. So I’m afraid I cant help there but I know a few ladies on here have had haywire cycles since coming off the pill so hopefully someone can help

@curcurbita welcome! You're in the right place, lots of ladies here are having unusual cycles post pill! Hopefully your first proper AF will turn up soon!

@juno231 you could be right, as I never got my +opk. But my cervix had lowered and became firm on CD23?

Can I ask about temping? I didn’t do it last time as just couldn’t be consistent enough, I can’t remember when/how... do those of you who do it do every day throughout your cycle? First thing when you wake up? And would a forehead thermometer work or does it have to be mouth? Thanks!

@MancMama39 it needs to be a basal thermometer so I'm not sure those exist as forehead ones. I take my temp every morning at 6.30am.

@kay00 yeah unlikely then! Just keep it in your back pocket in case things don't add up at the end of your LP I guess.

Today, I feel like I don't know myself at all sigh BFN, AF due on tues. I've had lower back pain since yesterday, lower abdo pain on same side, boobs feel weird and generally feeling yeauch. Arghhhhh!! Why doesn't an eye change colour to give you a hint 🤷‍♀️❤️

@mrsmacmc what cycle day are you on?

The TWW is do cruel isn't it!? I think we feel everything because we're looking out for it, but the truth of it is you're not out yet, not until the AF flows!

@Kay00 I'm on CD 24 so 48hrs until AF is potentially due to make an appearance. Having a quiet day today, made pancakes and now watching guff on the TV wrapped up in snuggly cardi with pooch for company. Normally I struggle to sit at peace but I'm going with it today!

Im currently cooking a roast (lamb) and have been cleaning my house from top to toe.

I was quite pleased yesterday as my temperature rose slightly and I FF gave me the cross hairs... but now I'm wondering maybe I didn't ovulate and maybe my body is giving it another go... my cervix was high and softish again earlier... im going to keep testing OPKs and im going to keep DTD until I find out more!

@mrsmacmc @kay00 what Sundays are made for! All I've done today is cook a roast and watch netflix all day. So unproductive but so needed. Oh...and I ordered a Christmas Tree and Christmas food...basically written 2020 off 😂

@Flowerbudd it has helped and very unlike me as normally I can't sit a peace. Have had the dog Velcro'd to me too which has been nice

Looking forward to the new programme on bbc1 at 9 tonight too. Shall see what the morning brings at least I'm work from home tomorrow so have a commute of 15 steps 🤣

Just started My FW yeserday CD12, how soon before OV do people start getting EWCM I’ve had some this evening but I didnt OV until CD18 last month, wondering if I may ovulate earlier this cycle

@Flowerbudd only 3 weeks, I (probably naively) thought something would have happened by now!
