No idea how we managed to smash through 1,000 messages (40% of them are probably me anyway, ha!) in such a short space of time, but a new thread is needed for the post pill TTC party, so here it is...

Tag anyone I've forgotten please, and new party-goers always welcome :)

@MintGreenLife thanks for adding me into the new thread ☺️ Congrats on the temperature rise 😃

I just had something similar with my gp. I had gotten the blood test results last week but rang the doctor today for some more detail. He said everything looks normal and just keep having sex basically! I asked about vitamins etc and he seemed to dismiss the need to take anything extra. I had a mad google this morning where I was tempted to buy every vitamin under the sun but think I will hold off now. It’s so hard to know what to do isn’t it. Think I’ll just take the pregnacare, epo and seed cycle and try that for a few months.

Love the thread name too!

MintGreenLife · 05/10/2020 17:50

@Flowerkm it's good to have a bit of a plan isn't it :)

@Cams50 no problem. Your plan sounds good to me. I've spent a fortune on all sorts of supplements and bits and bobs over the last 6 months when I probably shouldn't have! I stopped taking my very expensive prenatal a few weeks ago x

Cams50 · 05/10/2020 18:03

@MintGreenLife I’ve done the same! I just want to help everything along but I suppose it’s just about patience and we’ll all get there. 😊

Sarahp2308 · 05/10/2020 18:17

@MintGreenLife those results are positive, hope it has put my mind at ease for now! You never know with your temp rise this month could be the one!

AnonymousXXIX · 05/10/2020 18:26

@Cams50 I do the same; some days I try to read all scientific articles on all the vitamins - then decide to wait a day before getting any - and the next day I decide it probably won't make a difference at all. Agnus Castus especially - people take it for so many different reasons, I find it hard to work out what it is really supposed to do! So currently I am just taking some extra B vitamins because that can't hurt on a vegetarian diet... and considering seed cycling simply because I love seeds haha, not because I think it will do anything!

Cams50 · 05/10/2020 19:48

@AnonymousXXIX I’m the exact same! I should probably try reading about it all less so I think about it less and relax but it’s so hard not to! Yeah I think the seed cycling is natural and generally good for health so I feel it can’t hurt. And I like the seeds too! 😄

PumpkinEverything · 05/10/2020 20:03

Can someone please explain to me what seed cycling is please? I’ve never heard of it before and I’m intrigued Grin

TheHotelCalifornia · 05/10/2020 20:05

Omg this new name hahah! LOVE!

Hey girls how are we all doing? @MintGreenLife you got your results back quickly! How do you feel that they're normal? That's such great news but I guess frustrating as you can't pinpoint anything either. I had my blood test on Thursday so hoping to get the results in a couple of days. Currently chilling out over here on CD23, no confirmed OV yet. We DTD Fri and Sat and I may try for tonight as I feel like ovulation may happen soon...but saying that I have absolutely no idea! Thanks for the FF recs I've downloaded it and backdated all my BBT and OPK results. Both FF and Femometer basically have no idea what's going on with my cycle and are both suggesting ovulation may occur either next week or the week after. Does anyone have experience using these apps with super long/irregular cycles? My first cycle was a stonking 108 days so reallyyyy hoping this one isn't as long but it means I can't put an estimated cycle length in and they're freaking out a bit with suggestions :(

I've also decided I need to become more militant with my OPKs. I struggle as I drink soooo much and my pee is always diluted no matter how hard I try to hold it in. So going to try and not drink from like 11am-1pm and test at the same time every day to try and get my peak. Never had one and it stresses me out. Saying that, just writing about it is making me want to have a glass of water!! It's not normal haha!

Hope everyone's doing okay this week, baby dust for those in the TWW xxx

Sarahp2308 · 05/10/2020 20:05

I was thinking the same at @PumpkinEverything 😂😂

MintGreenLife · 05/10/2020 20:14

@Cams50 the first TTC book I read within days of deciding to TTC was 'the impatient women's guide to getting pregnant' I think that says a lot about me and my supplement spending 😂

@Sarahp2308 thanks, I guess it's good I know nothing is wrong, still makes you like 'why me' 🤷🏻‍♀️ When you think there's probably no real reason why I'm taking such a long time to get back on track.

@TheHotelCalifornia like you say, good because all is Ok, but then also left wondering why my body is taking its time to work things out. Hopefully you won't be waiting long for your results ☺️ I guess the only issue with the apps and long cycles are that the predictions don't help much, if at all. I THINK (🤞🏼) all being well, that I ovulated yesterday on CD25, which is a real win as the only cycle I've been able to detect ovulation on didn't happen until CD40ish.

With OPKs I was trying to not drink much after my first pee of the day until I did my OPK at 12ish, but saying that, I had three days of positives Friday-Sunday just gone, and my strongest ones were in the afternoon when I wasn't really thinking about trying not to drink much or holding my pee, so I think for me trying to hold on doesn't actually matter. I suppose it depends how strong a surge you get and how long it lasts for! X

@MintGreenLife I have that book too haha!! Literally bought it the day I stopped taking the pill haha. Keen or what! Yes hopefully will hear soon, I feel a bit nervous which is silly! Just will be good to hear I guess. The actual test was such an anti climax haha I was armed with the full story, questions etc, the poor woman was obviously just there to do the blood test and I was in and out within 5 mins! Classic.

Ahh, good to hear your experiences thank you! I guess I haven't ovulated yet which is why I haven't seen any dark lines, nothing above a 53% (I use the easy@home ones.) At least with those, and BBT, and CM checking, I'm fully armed and ready to pounce so hopefully I will catch my OV when (if....!!) it happens!

TheHotelCalifornia · 05/10/2020 20:25

Also hey @PumpkinEverything welcome! I read your messages in the old thread and we seem very alike! Not only in the sense of ovulating later in a longer cycle, but also I LOVE pumpkin things haha (had 2 PSL's this weekend...) and we also loooove big holidays to America! Where was your cancelled trip to? We had a week in Boston and Salem booked for March just when everything was kicking off which was super upsetting to cancel. Stupid Covid!!

PumpkinEverything · 05/10/2020 20:32

@TheHotelCalifornia twins! Haha, I have pumpkins everywhere in my house which was the inspo for my username! I’ve been making my own pumpkin spice coffees in the morning since I can’t get to Starbucks as easily these days because of WFH Grin we were supposed to fly to San Francisco and then drive to Napa, Yosemite, Monterey, LA, Palm Springs and then Anaheim. Then from there fly to Orlando for a week! I’m thankful we managed to get on our honeymoon last October as it was amazing (Cuba, then Orlando. Then from there we flew to Tennessee and drove the blue ridge parkway before going to DC, New York and then ending in Massachusetts where we did Boston and Salem Smile I’m having serious holiday blues right now!

TheHotelCalifornia · 05/10/2020 20:53

@PumpkinEverything Omg DREAM!! Wowzer what an amazing trip you had planned! And your honeymoon sounds amazing too! We flew into LAX in 2018 and did San Francisco, LA and Anaheim (Disneyland!) and it was the best trip! Then last year we did New York and Orlando! We lovveee Disney :) And this year....absolutely nothing haha! Did you love Boston and Salem? We were soooooo excited for that trip! I even bought spooky dresses. Devastating, man.

Flowerkm · 05/10/2020 21:12

@TheHotelCalifornia Hey hoping ovulation happens soon for you and you're not left waiting too long. Also yours and @PumpkinEverything have made me want to away! The holidays you went on sound soo good!
Covid really has ruined so many things this year for so many xx

MintGreenLife · 05/10/2020 21:27

@TheHotelCalifornia I think I was the same 😂 I've also read 'it starts with the egg' and 'taking charge of your fertility' and I'm still so muddled up half the time! Ah bless you, that's annoying. Did you have a telephone consultation before your bloods or anything?

Sounds like you're doing everything you can to catch it ☺️ I use those OPKs too, let me know if you want me to share a screen shot of mine from the weekend at all, although I'm sure you know what you're looking for! X

Lovebug06 · 05/10/2020 21:36

@Flowerkm @Kay00 @sarahp2308 thanks for your replies on the last thread, I hope I'm okay to join this one. I'm not sure if you'll remember my post a couple of days ago about going off breakfast, random bleeding, strange pains. I am definately not pregnant. Had my period last week for 2 and a bit days. After I sent that message I tested the next morning, silly of me, of course negative. So I don't know what's up with me at all lol!
I am not tracking as we found it a bit stressful, but I think I'm around day 8 now.

I am with you all with the spots.awful. Lots of those ones that are like bumps under the skin.

Hope your all well. X

MintGreenLife · 05/10/2020 21:43

@Lovebug06 of course you're OK to join! It's just too tricky to go back through the whole thread and write out everyone's usernames 😂 I totally convinced myself I was pregnant first cycle off the pill, think the crazy hormones can create all sorts of symptoms, so don't beat yourself up. I thought my skin was getting a bit better, but I seem to have less 'spots' and loads more under the skin bumps, mostly either side of my chin, feels so horrible 😩 X

Cams50 · 05/10/2020 22:12

@MintGreenLife haha that’s book sounds like it was written for me 😂

@PumpkinEverything seed cycling is where you add ground flaxseed and pumpkin seeds to your diet (blended in a smoothie or something like that) until you ovulate and then switch to sunflower and sesame seeds. It’s meant to regulate your hormones etc but who knows if it actually works! Makes me feel like I’m doing something and it feels healthy 🤷🏼‍♀️

lawandgin · 05/10/2020 23:18

I'm still here, can't believe we are on the third thread already!

Good news on your results @MintGreenLife ! Mine were also normal and my AMH was 24.7 (or 27.4, I can't remember 😂) which means I qualify for our chosen fertility clinic, whohoo! He doesn't seem to think I have PCOS, prolactin was normal and thyroid too. LH and FSH very similar is 8.4ish. I am now CD 13, no hint of a positive OPK but it doesn't even really matter anymore. I am going to keep testing just for interest and of course checking in on you lovely people 🙂

Lovebug06 · 05/10/2020 23:55

@MintGreenLife my worst place is at the sides of my forehead /temples seems to be loads. I end up wearing my hair loose instead of back to cover them but it probably makes it worse really.

Random, but a friend told me to drink green tea. She said it apparently can help you produce more CM. And obviously it's healthier. I did drink it one mug every morning and probably coincidence but I did actually get more than normal so I am doing that again this month. Incase anyone else wants to give it a go. And if it doesn't do anything, it doesn't really matter either Smile

Flowerkm · 06/10/2020 07:31

@Lovebug06 Hey sorry to hear about the BFN. Im also trying my hardest to not test with a OPK as I was stressing myself out with big with getting OH to BD! Im CD13 today and DTD for the past 3 days. Will probably try again tomorrow and then keep all fingers crossed :) Im going to give the green tea a try I think, can't do any harm thats for sure xx

@lawandgin Thats good to hear you can go with your chosen fertility clinic Smile yes, stay with us, it will be great to hear how you get on as well! We will all get there in the end Thanks xx

Flowerkm · 06/10/2020 07:31

Meant to say 'big time' 😩 too early

MintGreenLife · 06/10/2020 09:07

@lawandgin that's brilliant news, so pleased for you!

@Lovebug06 my temples are bad too! I get big sore red ones on my temples urgh.

So good and bad (I think) news from me this morning. My temp went up again ever so slightly on the previous day, so on track for my three higher temps. That said, I'm actually feeling a bit low today. I was having another look at my blood test results last night and spotted there was a note regarding my thyroid result, saying 'if this patient is planning pregnancy or is pregnant please see...' and then a link. I couldn't get the link to load, but spotted my thyroid result looked on the high side - normal is meant to be 0.5-4.2 and mine was 3.49. I started looking into it and found that normal, is considered more like 2.5, and that actually 3.49 would suggest I have a fairly sluggish thyroid. Apparently the upper end for fertility is 2.5, and your thyroid should't be higher than 3.0 for pregnancy! Luckily my mum is a nurse, so has a good understanding of these things and is going to look into it further for me. Of course after all that late night reading I then didn't sleep brilliantly again. Feel pretty worried about it, but I guess for now I best focus on the fact that I did ovulate on Sunday and we timed DTD perfectly.

I stopped taking my very expensive prenatal about a week ago, but reading into it a lot of nutrients are important for thyroid health, so that's making me think maybe I should start taking Pregnacare or something as that seems to contain all the things listed for the thyroid, however part of me wonders if there was something in my expensive prenatal that was causing me to struggle to ovulate...although now I suspect that's actually because of the sluggish thyroid!

Sorry for the essay eeek! x
