No idea how we managed to smash through 1,000 messages (40% of them are probably me anyway, ha!) in such a short space of time, but a new thread is needed for the post pill TTC party, so here it is...

Tag anyone I've forgotten please, and new party-goers always welcome :)

@wishfulthinking93 I understand the excitement lol. I see getting AF as a sign of my body feeling healthy so although currently disappointing I am always happy to know everything's working as it should. And getting a couple cycles of good data to track is very satisfying haha.

CD22 / 8DPO here. Nothing going on, just a lot of acne?

Cams50 · 10/10/2020 12:55

@Sarahp2308 I get that! Yours might be implantation bleeding or something but the past few months off the pill my periods have done that so they don’t ‘kick in’ for a few days which is annoying as they go on longer and every month I hope it’s implantation bleeding and it’s not 😂 hopefully yours aren’t like that. I did tell the GP and he didn’t think it was anything to worry about.

@MintGreenLife that’s annoying about the house. Are you still going to go for it? Hopefully the stuff can be resolved gradually to help with the financial side. My house is Victorian too so I understand. I love the character though!

AMS19 · 10/10/2020 13:05

@wishfulthinking93 ahhh yay!!! I keep thinking I'm going to come on then nothing! Only on CD25 though (based CD1 was day 1 of withdrawal bleed). 4 weeks tomorrow since stopping the pill. Hurry up AF!

wishfulthinking93 · 10/10/2020 13:16

@AMS19 the wait is the worst bit isn’t it because there is just no way of knowing for certain if it’s coming or not. There were so many times over the last week or so I thought i was coming on

I took my last pill in July and had
Withdrawal bleed
28 day cycle
42 day cycle
Now to see what this month is, hoping for a much shorter cycle than last months. Going to pick up some ovulation tests so I can track properly this month.

AMS19 · 10/10/2020 13:26

@wishfulthinking93 keep us updated! I've been tracking with OPKs but nothing 👎 my BBT is so high all the time too. So although I'll keep going I think i need AF to start tracking properly

PumpkinEverything · 10/10/2020 13:54

@AnonymousXXIX CD39/8 DPO for me. I feel like I have a few symptoms, but feels similar to AF coming, and I’m also trying to relate my symptoms to other things so that I don’t overthink them Grin e.g I think my back is sore because of sitting on a kitchen chair all day haha
Feels easier to deal with that way!

wishfulthinking93 · 10/10/2020 14:33

@AMS19 think it definitely helps to wait to have AF and then track a full month properly. I spoke to a GP on the phone as we get it through work so thought I may as well use it .. she said ovulation can be everywhere when coming off the pill - so apps will predict the average 14/15 cycle day for ovulation but your body needs to adjust and get into a cycle when coming off the pill - as obviously it hasn’t been ovulating whilst taking the pill. You’ll then usually settle and get into a cycle that’s easier to predict. I think I ovulated about day 30 this cycle but can’t be sure as I stopped testing

TheHotelCalifornia · 10/10/2020 15:20

@wishfulthinking93 congrats! I felt the same when I got my first AF post-pill haha!

@MintGreenLife I'm sorry to hear about your house :( Hopefully you can have a nice cosy evening tonight and try and take your mind off it with a nice movie or something. Are you still in your first official TWW?

@PumpkinEverything sounds like our cycles may be similar this month! CD28 here and hoping for OV this week. Keeping everything crossed for you!

Guys I'm excited today :) Had EWCM yesterday and today, and my OPK this morning was 30% which doesn't sound a lot but it's been literally 0-10% the past week or so! Femometer is predicting OV 16th October and FW starting tomorrow so it's all very exciting. FF says period tomorrow haha so who the F knows to be honest!! We BD yesterday morning and I'm going to pounce tonight too, then hopefully we can BD every other day over the next week :) I really hope I get a peak OPK in the next few days! Going to test again in a sec actually to just see what's going on down there, if anything.

Also no word from the Dr following my blood test so I called up and was told the Dr is on holiday...good one!! Honestly. So I have to call back Monday. Blood test was 1st October! Classic.

Hope everyone is having a lovely Saturday!

Sarahp2308 · 10/10/2020 15:22

@Flowerkm according to my app CD3 but AF only re lasted CD1 last cycle was 30 days which is about right for me

@Cams50 I think the first day of AF was too heavy to be IB didn’t stop me POAS though which was obviously negative

Cams50 · 10/10/2020 15:38

@Sarahp2308 yep me too every time 😂

Trying4one · 10/10/2020 16:48

@PumpkinEverything a week ago I had written myself off for the cycle as I just felt negative. I then had some symptoms and I explained them away as well as I agree it makes things easier to deal with. I just didn't want to get my hopes up

Sarahp2308 · 10/10/2020 17:57

@Cams50 why do we do it to ourselves, I have no more left in the house now and I’m not buying any until/IF AF is late this cycle....who am I kidding I’ll get to 10DPO and be down at superdrug 😂

Trying4one · 10/10/2020 18:33

@Sarahp2308 Amazon was my go to which was dangerous as I don't have to leave the house to get more tests 😂

PumpkinEverything · 10/10/2020 18:37

@Trying4one that’s exactly how I feel. I felt very positive and optimistic around ovulation and now I’m just like no, I think AF will be here in a few day’s. Think it just feels easier to protect ourselves this way. Remind me again how many DPO you were when you tested?

Trying4one · 10/10/2020 18:44

@PumpkinEverything after last month there is nothing more painful then thinking you are pregnant for AF to turn up. I was 10dpo. My AF due date was tomorrow. I am terrified that it will turn up and that it was a chemical 🙈

PumpkinEverything · 10/10/2020 19:14

@Trying4one that must have been awful! All fingers crossed she doesn’t turn up tomorrow. Have you tested anymore or are you holding off for a while?

Sarahp2308 · 10/10/2020 19:17

@Trying4one I’m glad I don’t have prime for that reason, my parents do and I normally use thier prime but they don’t know we are TTC I want it to be a surprise, as I am the only child obviously my children will be thier only grandchildren, also we have no young children in the family, the youngest is 16 so should be pretty exciting for everyone when it finally happens that is.

Tillybabs · 10/10/2020 19:18

@wishfulthinking93 congrats lol. We are in the same position and I also started mine yesterday! My first actual period since being off the pill.

We can now both track and I was happy as well lol. Good luck x

Trying4one · 10/10/2020 19:28

@PumpkinEverything I tested yesterday with a digital and it said pregnant on it. I bought some cheapies today so plan on testing again tomorrow to check if there is any line progression but now wondering whether to do it tonight 🤣
@Sarahp2308 yeah prime is dangerous 🤣 see that will be lovely. My mum already has 2 grandchildren from my younger sister but my mother in law doesn't have any so I am betting she will be ecstatic. We don't plan on telling family until we have had the scan

MintGreenLife · 10/10/2020 19:31

@TheHotelCalifornia thanks, it's a bit disappointing but what can you do. We have a back up plan if things don't work out with this house, and a plan of how to try to negotiate with the sellers and move forwards, and if that doesn't work it's on to plan B, so feeling a bit more positive now.

Yep I'm 6DPO, it's nice to feel like I actually finally have a shot at getting a BFP after 6 months! I'm not getting my hopes up, but good to finally properly be in the TWW.

Yay for EWCM! Fingers crossed your OPKs get darker :) xx

MintGreenLife · 10/10/2020 19:34

@Sarahp2308 yes fairly major issues with the building, but also Japanese knot weed found on the boundary, so it's highly possible we won't even be able to get out mortgage on it! it's potentially a write-off, but going to see what we can do.

Thanks @Flowerkm we will have to see how things go over the next few days. No substitutes for chocolate or alcohol really, as not having sugar, which is an issue as I do have a pretty serious sweet tooth ha. Hopefully it'll help in the long run and be worth the sacrifices :) xx

PumpkinEverything · 10/10/2020 19:38

Eeee! Well it’s really good to have got a positive on the digital @Trying4one it’s so tempting isn’t it! I have a whole pile of the easy @ home tests as they had them in the OPK box I got and I’m starting to feel more and more tempted, but I know it’s still too early to see anything anyway

PumpkinEverything · 10/10/2020 19:39

@MintGreenLife could you maybe get some sugar free vegan chocolate? I know they definitely do each of these, but not sure of a combo of the two. Just to have something as a treat Smile

Sarahp2308 · 10/10/2020 19:40

@Trying4one we will probably tell our parents when we know, there isn’t any grandchildren on either side at the moment, but I won’t tell the rest of the family until we’ve had a scan.

@MintGreenLife oh Japanese knot weed that’s unfortunate, that is a real shame! Good that you’ve got a plan b. Have you got your heart set on this house? Or are you happy to walk away all things considered?

MintGreenLife · 10/10/2020 19:48

@Sarahp2308 we really did, but we're not willing to take it on and screw ourselves over financially, so we will have to see. We are basically going to say that the seller needs to sort the knot weed before we can proceed, and also reduce the price for the work that needs doing, but it's a lot, so I'm not sure they will come down that much, and we don't want to risk losing our buyer, so we may have to consider throwing the towel in and finding somewhere else (ideally with no chain so we can get moving ASAP). The idea of starting again sucks a bit, but we're feeling proactive and we have found several places we like online and plan to go and see them next week just in case we do have to walk away from this one.

@PumpkinEverything that would be a very good option, if I weren't cutting out chocolate in general - I'm also not having stimulants, so chocolate, coffee and tea. My life is so boring at the mo ha! Thanks for the suggestion though, I would honestly love to drown my sorrows with a glass of wine and some chocolate, can't think of anything better right now! xx
