No idea how we managed to smash through 1,000 messages (40% of them are probably me anyway, ha!) in such a short space of time, but a new thread is needed for the post pill TTC party, so here it is...

Tag anyone I've forgotten please, and new party-goers always welcome :)

@Sarahp2308

Yes stat mat is about £600 a month. I’ve saved money so my DH doesn’t have to worry about the short fall when I go onto stat mat! It’s so stressful as I couldn’t think of going back to work when a baby is 4 months old :(

LisaLx · 09/10/2020 09:42

Can I ask what TWW means? Sorry I'm new to all of this x

Flowerkm · 09/10/2020 09:44

@AMS19 Its just my Garmin app that connects to my watch :)

@Sarahp2308 Yeah, i did have a look and not much, but interesting to see if this is a pattern each month for sure

@lilacflower12 hey :) Its hard to say as your body is probably just adjusting to having no pill in it's system. Could just be spotting from coming off the pill. I think Id probably just log it as spotting and continue with your cycle days as normal and see whether it happens again and when your period actually starts :) xx

AnonymousXXIX · 09/10/2020 09:47

Re mat leave: am I the only one who is worried about their career and would much prefer some more balance between both parents on the looking after a baby front? Apart from potential breastfeeding commitments I am not at all interested in time off work. (But then I do like my job!)

Trying4one · 09/10/2020 09:48

@Flowerkm I am ok 😊 just getting cramps at the moment. I am hoping I get minimal morning sickness but I know that it wishful thinking 🤣

I have looked back at my average resting heart rate and I can't see any difference in my resting heart rate over ovulation. However over the last week I can see that it has slowly increased. Not sure if it is a coincidence or not

@Moocher90 Gosh I wish I was that organised! We definitely need to get a savings plan in place for the new year now our renovations are almost finished! Oh gosh I couldn’t go back that early either, I would like to have the full year off but not sure we could afford to, we could live of OH wages but it would be tight.

@LisaLx TWW means two week wait, the two weeks between ovulation and your period/pregnancy test

@Flowerkm I have definitely noticed a pattern in mine recently I have found myself becoming obsessed with it though!

Sarahp2308 · 09/10/2020 09:51

@AnonymousXXIX I get where you are coming from in regards to your career I do worry I may miss an opportunity while on mat leave, I think you can split mat leave between you and your OH now not sure how it works though to be honest

lilacflower12 · 09/10/2020 09:55

@Sarahp2308 @Flowerkm thank you both, I'll just put it down as spotting and continue as I was, hopefully stuff will become clear soon!!

@Moocher90 I'm the same, I have a side business I've been building to do on maternity so the sooner I get pregnant the sooner I can do that full time and that's my passion over my main job! I don't even know what the maternity pay is at my work, I know had a very rough eye but don't want to ask as don't want them to know I'm trying and I'm pretty sure it wasn't in my original contract :(

PumpkinEverything · 09/10/2020 09:57

@AnonymousXXIX I go between wanting to work, and wishing I could stay at home forever (usually when I have bad days Grin) I most definitely would choose a whole year off if we’re able to.
I’m jealous that you love your job and this is a thought you have. I would like to be like that, but I’m just not overly career driven. I would say that’s probably because I don’t love love my job. I just love going on holiday Grin

Moocher90 · 09/10/2020 09:58

@lilacflower12

Can you ask a colleague about the terms? You don’t have to say your trying especially if there’s someone who has recently come back from maternity try edge it into the conversation x

Sarahp2308 · 09/10/2020 10:02

@PumpkinEverything I flick between the 2 options aswell, the only thing for me is my job is so flexible if I left I’m not sure I would find anything as good again,

Flowerkm · 09/10/2020 10:17

@Trying4one Aw glad you're feeling ok so far and also hoping your morning sickness isn't too bad! 🤞🏻
Ah how interesting, they do say pregnancy leads to higher resting heart rate so that could be why

@AnonymousXXIX I think thats perfectly ok to feel like that :) Im sure you would be able to split the mat leave, i think its great you want to be able to share it and that you love your job.
Im ok with taking time off, would love a year off if we can afford it xx

AnonymousXXIX · 09/10/2020 10:23

@Flowerkm I am not that sure oh wants to share leave though! He also likes his job (and ofc earns more). It is a huge debate in this house. I am hoping that once he sees the (currently still too imaginary) baby he'll change his mind? I know, what a gamble to base life decisions on.

AnonymousXXIX · 09/10/2020 10:26

Ffs another pregnancy announcement on FB. Officially at the thrilled but also annoyed stage now!

Sarahp2308 · 09/10/2020 10:30

@AnonymousXXIX Don’t feel any pressure to have the whole 9 months to a year off, I worked in a nursery for a long time and we had quite a few babys that started nursery at around 4 months old because their parents wanted to get to work! In some ways it was easier to settle them in because they were so young!

Ok, seriously confused over here ladies..TMI Coming up! AF appeared yesterday seemed normal maybe abit heavier, just went to change my tampon and there was literally nothing on there ...WTF

Tillybabs · 09/10/2020 10:50

Morning ladies. My period has started today. So this is day 36 since I had my withdrawal bleed from coming off the pill.

At least I can now start to monitor my cycles.

Flowerkm · 09/10/2020 11:00

@AnonymousXXIX Ah I see, do what works for you both and like @Sarahp2308 said, babies start nursery early and thats understandable

:( oh no!! I had someone close to me announce their pregnancy the other week and Im over the moon for them but also just wanting it so much myself.

@Sarahp2308 when are you due on again? Could be starting up or possibly implantation?

@Tillybabs At least you can now start tracking a new cycle, I was quite excited to get my period coming off the pill as I just wanted to start tracking lol xx

Sarahp2308 · 09/10/2020 11:08

@Flowerkm @AnonymousXXIX the young babies get SO spoilt at the nursery aswell everyone just fusses over them 🙂

I was due on between yesterday and it started yesterday, i think it was probably too heavy for implantation, I just don’t get why it’s stopped, never had that happen before 🤔

Trying4one · 09/10/2020 11:08

@Sarahp2308 I am planning on only having 6 months off. I could have 9 months off paid but the pay really drops off after 6 months so doesn't make sense financially for me to stay off any longer.
Did you have any clots? Are you sure it was AF? Could be implantation.

Tillybabs · 09/10/2020 11:09

@Flowerkm yes that’s how I feel. I’ve heard of some taking longer to have their normal AF so I’m happy I can now start tracking.

I feel like I’ve learnt so much in a day from reading this thread so thank you ladies.

Sarahp2308 · 09/10/2020 11:14

@Trying4one I can imagine I will probably be the same 9 months would be the max for me financially. I did have some clots last night 2 bigger than usual (so gross sorry) I thought I was in for a heavy AF so I was shocked when the tampon was clear like there was literally nothing on there. I had abit of spotting 2 days before AF and that was literally just when I wiped and it was brown rather than red

Trying4one · 09/10/2020 11:21

@Sarahp2308 hmm our bodies keep us on their toes don't they. Perhaps see if the blood comes back later otherwise take a test in a day or so

Flowerkm · 09/10/2020 11:22

@Tillybabs Ah you're welcome! I also feel like Ive come so far since joining this thread 😀 xx

lilacflower12 · 09/10/2020 11:29

@Moocher90 unfortunately since I've worked here ( 2 years in March coming) only 1 person has gone on Maternity and she's still on it! I also didn't know her well enough before she left to ask her now. One of my other colleagues seems to think its 5 months full pay then stat leave if you have been employed for over 2 years before going on leave which I will be :) But I won't know for certain until I am pregnant and talk to them about it.

@Sarahp2308 That sounds like exactly what I've had for the last few days. Maybe test just incase?

Sarahp2308 · 09/10/2020 11:35

@Trying4one @lilacflower12 our bodies certainly do like to keep us guessing if AF doesn’t return this evening I will test and see! I’m inclined to say the last day was too heavy to be implantation bleeding but it did last less than 24 hours...odd
