Hi everyone!

I'm currently on my first period after being on the pill for 15 years. The last 5 years I have taken it constantly with no break due to painful and heavy periods so I'm not expecting this journey to be a quick or easy one!

Hubby is 34 and I am 30, ttc our first and hoping to share the journey with some of you lovely ladies here so please feel free to join!

@AMS19 yay! Glad you can start properly now!

@Vicki1990 @adogisforlife91 hope you both get a BFP this month ☺️

I'm supposed to ovulate tomorrow but don't know if it will actually happen, I started having EWCM yesterday so hopefully my OPK's will get darker today / tomorrow. If anything it will be nice to know what day to expect ovulation next month if it doesn't work this month ☺️

Vicki1990 · 14/10/2020 18:28

@lilacflower12 oh how exciting!! Mine were really faint Friday and half of Saturday then they just got stronger and stronger and ewcm started Saturday night until Monday! How often are you testing?

Not holding out much hope of a bfp as it's the first month, but at least I know what to expect from my cycle for next month!

@Vicki1990 I'm testing morning afternoon and evening atm, evening seems to be the best time for me so I'm hoping mine will be darker later! And you can always hope! I'm first month off BC too ☺️

How is everyone getting on? I think my window is about to begin - although not taking temps / doing OPKs or anything yet and every single app & calculator I’ve used has predicted completely different ovulation dates! Cannot believe how much science there is to it all, daft I know, but it’s like a whole new world. Does anyone know realistically how soon you can test or are people just waiting to see if af is late? I don’t know if I can wait that long!

Vicki1990 · 14/10/2020 20:33

@lilacflower12 I did the same! You'll definitely catch your peak testing 3x a day, fingers crossed it happens soon for you!

@KJS20 my apps say different dates too! The one I've been putting my opks in to is way off so not sure I'll use them as much next month apart from to log my opks and symptoms! I read on another thread that implantation can happen between 6-11dpo, some people have tested at 8/9dpo but there's a risk of finding a chemical pregnancy if you test early, they say it's better to wait until af is due but I can already see myself testing earlier!

@Vicki1990 I’m glad I’m not the only one, thought I was going mad. Just planning to dtd as much as possible for the next week I guess, although husband is already fed up of me! And see what happens, have got some of the early response tests so might try one a couple of days before I’m due on. Excited for everyone on the thread and hoping for lots of positives over the next couple of months!

Pollyell · 14/10/2020 20:47

Me too! Smile
I'm 30 and OH 29, realised during lockdown that we didn't really miss hectic social lives and mostly enjoy the outdoors and family time - have always wanted to start a family eventually and kind of realised there's no time like the present! Amazing how it puts things into perspective.

Implant out end of August and now faffing around with OPK kits etc after saying I would be casual about it all Blush

Exciting times for all of us.

I can't believe it!!!

Planning to TTC this month for the first time, anyone else?
AMS19 · 15/10/2020 08:49

@adogisforlife91 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 massive congratulations

AlexandraB2021 · 15/10/2020 08:52

Hi All!

Firstly congrats adogisforlife91. Bet your buzzing.

Hoping to join you all- came off my combined pill (been on for 12 years) on the 19th Sept and had withdrawl bleed on the 22nd.

Had really regular cycles pre pill (28 days bang on) so fingers crossed these return quickly.

Like others was due to get married but covid got in the way. So partner and I decided to ttc- we've been together 12 years and both 29. Originally wanted to wait to be married before trying but didn't want to put it off any longer. Already feel like I've jumped down the rabbit hole and become obsessional 😂.

Good luck everyone!

lilacflower12 · 15/10/2020 09:42

@adogisforlife91 yay! congratulations- and on your first cycle!! Setting the bar high for the rest of us!

@AlexandraB2021 welcome! I'm on my first month, and my partner thinks I'm crazy already. Same as you I've decided to TTC before the wedding now.

According to my apps I'm supposed to be ovulating today but don't know what's going on because it's the first month off the mini pill, my OPK's aren't getting any darker, so we'll see!

AlexandraB2021 · 15/10/2020 09:51

@adogisforlife91 was today AF day or did you decide to test early? Bet your in shock that its happened so quickly.

@lilacflower12 I'm trying to hide the crazy 😂 fingers crossed your apps are correct. Have you picked a new date yet? We're thinking late 2022, give myself time to get in shape again.

Vicki1990 · 15/10/2020 09:56

@adogisforlife91 oh my god congratulations!! That's amazing! First one to graduate 🥳 have you noticed any symptoms yet?

@AlexandraB2021 welcome lovely! It's my first month ttc and completely gone down the rabbit hole with opks etc 😆I hope to be a bit more relaxed on the next cycle!

Thanks @AMS19 @lilacflower12 @AlexandraB2021 !

Yep I cant quite believe it, as I was preparing for it to take a while. DP had a bad accident when he was younger (involving a bike crash, severe impact to the crotch region and a hospital visit!) sorry if TMI but it looks a bit funny now, so I sort of convinced myself that it might not all be working properly in there!! now I feel guilty for doubting him...

@alexandra AF is due tomorrow, so there's still a worry that it could be chemical. I think the line was quite strong though so fingers crossed it will stick.

adogisforlife91 · 15/10/2020 10:00

@Vicki1990 thanks, I cant believe it! I had bad cramps in my back last night which prompted me to do the test this morning, as I never get that with AF. Feeling a bit nauseaous now but I think that might be nerves!

Vicki1990 · 16/10/2020 20:26

Hi ladies how are you all doing? Anyone else in their tww?

OP posts:
AMS19 · 16/10/2020 20:29

Hey ladies

I've just finished my first proper AF, so CD3 for me. Just casually waiting to get through the next week then am going to BD like crazy for a week or so and hope 😂😂

lilacflower12 · 16/10/2020 21:39

Hey, I’m still waiting to ovulate, hopefully in the next day or two and then I’ll be in my TWW, testing day will be the 30th if I can wait that long 😂

redpeppersoup · 18/10/2020 14:35

Hi ladies, I posted on the main October thread earlier but just found this one - this is my second month TTC so hope it’s okay to join here too Smile I’m usually regular as clockwork but currently 5 days late and testing negative. I’ve seen a few posts saying even the early detection tests are most accurate 1-2 weeks after your missed period so hoping I’m just testing too early...!

Vicki1990 · 18/10/2020 21:50

@AMS19 fingers crossed it goes quickly for you!

@lilacflower12 ooh good luck lovely! I'm not feeling anything in this tww (not that I'm expecting to on the first cycle) but will see if I can wait it out until Friday to test, I'll be about 10dpo then.

@redpeppersoup welcome lovely! Oh wow, that sounds positive, will keep my fingers crossed for you and let us know how you get on!

OP posts:
redpeppersoup · 19/10/2020 11:35

@Vicki1990 thank you! Said I was going to wait until Tuesday to test again so resisted the temptation this morning! Good luck for Friday, hope you get a BFP Smile

Vicki1990 · 23/10/2020 21:17

How's everyone getting on? I've had spotting the last day, pretty sure af is on her way!! Ordered folic acid and a thermometer for the next cycle (plus extra tests as I've been testing like a crazy person Blush)
Any more updates? Anyone with experience of folic acid and thermometers?!
