TTC #1, cycle 13 and fed up! Whose with me?

Hello. So AF arrived yesterday which means I'm officially on cycle 13 of TTC. I'm a healthy 28 year old with husband whose 33. We've had 2 chemical pregnancies in the time we've been actively trying. We are just waiting on our dates for blood tests and SA for husband.

Needless to say I'm bloody fed up! Had 3 friends announce pregnancy news in the last week, and one friend is due in 4 weeks. TTC is definitely starting to take its toll on both of us and the realisation that something may be wrong is starting to sink in.
Who else is having similar? Please feel free to share/rant!

@Rosie189 similar timelines and tests as us! Best of luck lovely 😊 don't be terrified, all positive steps forward! X

Finally got my test results from nhs 21 day tests and I’ve got low progesterone. It’s 10 and should be 30. So they’re referring us today. Have been waiting so long so I’m just pleased to get the nhs referral.

Did you get your first nhs fertility appointment @notyetamumbuttrying? I’m struggling to recall. If you did, how long did it take from referral to appointment?

Hope your AF came eventually @Theawkwardblonde

notyetamumbuttrying · 12/02/2021 16:44

@thislittlebird sorry to hear but great you're getting referred! I got bloods and scan done with the gp, and we got the referral based off dhs sa result. This was bk in sept and the referral then came through urology as he had to get tests with them first. So we've technically been waiting since December for this feb appointment but it's more like September as that's when we first got tested.

thislittlebird · 12/02/2021 20:07

God that’s a long time @notyetamumbuttrying. If they’re going to do something like put me on clomid I don’t really want to wait months for that, you know? Wondering if it’s worth asking the private clinic what next steps would be.

Also, GP told me before they needed to put us on the right path, and I guess I’m on the non ovulation path now. Not sure if that will be quicker because more drugs based initially? Dunno.

Theawkwardblonde · 12/02/2021 21:08

Hello all. Been very quiet this week as have been a tad poorly. Think it may have something to do with the attached pictures. We aren't getting excited yet given my history of early miscarriages but fingers crossed 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@thislittlebird yeah it is long! I would speak to the private clinic if you can. Or if you can wait until you get your letter through with nhs first as perhaps it's quicker now. Our situation is different in that it's male factor and he had to see a urologist first. If it's just to put you on clomid first rather than straight to ivf, it might go quicker and you get the drugs soon...hard to know what to do for the best isn't it x
@Theawkwardblonde wow wee great news!! Understand your caution but congrats 🥳 all the same x

thislittlebird · 13/02/2021 08:23

@Theawkwardblonde wow, tentative congrats! Fingers crossed for you x

It’s super hard to know @notyetamumbuttrying. Because if they’re going to put me on progesterone tablets of some kind or on clomid then I want to get cracking with that straight away. If I need a hycosy first then I want to get it out of the way, too much time lost already to waiting around. I emailed the private clinic last night. Can’t hurt to talk to them about how they would proceed, hopefully they’ll reply today or Monday.

Rosie189 · 13/02/2021 10:38

Congratulations @Theawkwardblonde finger crossed that everything works out for you!

notyetamumbuttrying · 13/02/2021 11:27

@thislittlebird good going! Let us know x
@Rosie189 how are you lovely? Still nervous about the tests? Are they early next week or late? I have a virtual call on weds, filled out a questionnaire so I guess it's to go through those answers before we get seen in person.

Rosie189 · 13/02/2021 11:45

@notyetamumbuttrying My tests are Thursday. Feeling much better about it actually. Think I was just having a wobble as it makes the possibility of having ivf feel very real. It’s feeling more like a positive step now. I think if everything is ok we’ll probably just keep trying naturally for another 6 months or so and then go for ivf if we still haven’t had any luck but either way hopefully we’ll be pregnant or doing ivf at some point this year. I have quite a few online forms and consent things to look at so need to spend some time doing those. Although don’t think we need to complete them till before consultant appointment which is another 6 weeks away. Hope your appointment goes all ok.

Theawkwardblonde · 13/02/2021 17:13

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. Work have put me off this set of shifts until they can figure out what to do. It's too risky for them to have me at work in my normal role. I wasn't going to say anything, however my supervisor rang to say I was getting my covid jab today 😳 had to decline despite being on the wait list for weeks. Made for an awkward conversation as didn't want to say anything until a few weeks. Realistically giving the job I do they should have been told straight away, I just don't want to jinx things.
Naturally I'm stressed to bits now 🤣

@Rosie189 not too long then! It's defo a positive step honey. Yeah we have those to complete before our private consultation in March. Did the questionnaire for the nhs yesterday as we have a virtual appointment on weds. Thank you 😘

notyetamumbuttrying · 13/02/2021 17:20

@Theawkwardblonde so did you have to tell them then? How many dpo are you? Xx

Theawkwardblonde · 13/02/2021 17:25

Yes I've had to tell them which is a pain, as I had to turn down my covid jab, which looks bad as I'm police and we are lucky if we can get them.
I'm 18dpo I believe. I didn't actually get a positive opk this month ironically so not exactly sure 😂 I've been peeing on a stick daily just to keep me calm.

notyetamumbuttrying · 13/02/2021 17:43

@Theawkwardblonde ah I've been wondering if you're police or not. No wonder you're so stressed! So pleased your pregnant hun, hope all goes smoothly. I guess you'll go for an early scan? X

thislittlebird · 13/02/2021 20:46

Probably good that they know though @Theawkwardblonde, fingers crossed.

I had my covid jab yesterday and it’s absolutely destroyed me today lol. Feeling better now but I better have some decent antibodies after the 24 hours I’ve had Confused

CurbsideProphet · 14/02/2021 17:18

Everything crossed cautiously for you @Theawkwardblonde 💐

CurbsideProphet · 14/02/2021 17:20

@thislittlebird did you have the Astrozeneca jab? My parents had theirs this week and have bad headaches, plus swollen arms 😬 DH had Pfizer through work and only a tender arm for an afternoon.

thislittlebird · 14/02/2021 18:22

I had AZ yeah @CurbsideProphet. I’ve been going through it Confused. I’ve not known anyone to react as much as I have so far, my mother had just a sore arm with AZ. I had one day of intense flu symptoms and today they’ve died right off but not gone completely, and it’s playing havoc with my stomach. On the plus side, I’m hoping this strong reaction will give me protection and I am pretty grateful I didn’t get covid.

Apparently with Pfizer it’s the second dose that causes more reactions so I’m hoping my second dose won’t be as bad.

Theawkwardblonde · 17/02/2021 07:59

Hey all. Not good news from me I'm afraid. Miscarried last night and now HPT showing as negative. Gutted to be honest but DH is even more devastated. Doesn't get any easier this TTC malarkey.

notyetamumbuttrying · 17/02/2021 11:54

@Theawkwardblonde so sorry to hear this darling, please take care. Is that the third time now? You should be able to go the gp now and get a referral to the MC unit. Xx

CurbsideProphet · 17/02/2021 16:16

I'm so sorry @Theawkwardblonde 💐 x

thislittlebird · 17/02/2021 16:20

So sorry to hear that @Theawkwardblonde

Rosie189 · 17/02/2021 16:39

I’m so sorry @Theawkwardblonde

Rosie189 · 18/02/2021 16:19

Had my private scan and bloods today. Ovaries apparently typical of PCOS which is in a lot of ways not a huge surprise although I had blood work for that a while ago and was told it was all normal and didn’t fit with pcos. Guess I’ll need to wait till consultant appointment. Sounds like ivf should be fine. Think I’d struggle to get clomid or anything prescribed though as scan was private.
