@Elakiya copied from Google "In IVF thousands of sperm are added to each egg in the hope that one will fertilise the egg. In ICSI the embryologist uses a microscope and very technically advanced equipment to select a single sperm which is injected into the egg."

Basically they fertilise the egg outside and then insert the fertilised egg into the uterus.

It has like a 72% success rate which is exceptionally higher than IVF.

@Elakiya it is offered on the NHS i just dont know the criteria for qualifying for it over standard IVF.

@candycrush2298 hopefully you have minor issue that can be sorted out and you’ll be popping out babies straight away.

Hmmm so you can do SA with the GP. I didn’t know that better do husbands through the GP I don’t want to fork out £100 for nothing.

candycrush2298 · 21/09/2020 19:24

@Elakiya thanks hun 🤞🤞

Yeah definitely done through your gp they may request your CD21 bloods or send you for new ones thats the first tick box and then its the SA. @Kaybobx is also getting hubbys SA done through GP. She hasn't gotten to GP yet.

OP posts:
candycrush2298 · 21/09/2020 19:25

@Elakiya typo meant to say @Kaybobx hasn't gotten to the fertility clinic yet only the GP.

candycrush2298 · 21/09/2020 20:07

OMG guys read this thread....
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/infertility/3923213-Fertility-referral-letter

It talks about 4-6 months waiting list to actually get into seeing the fertility clinic so after hubby gets his results and the gp refers us to the clinic we still won't even be seen this year 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Kaybobx · 21/09/2020 20:35

@candycrush2298 @Boc86 hubby just said it was put over the back gate wooohoo! Soy for bed tonight.

Yeah its not a quick process with the NHS at all.

@Elakiya no not booked the HSG yet as i needed to fill in a form to get staff discount. That only got sent over to be today, now its gone to the head of finance for approval. What a ballache, i hope they dont mention it to my boss. I dont really want him knowing to be honest.

And yes the GP will happily send hubby for a SA. They like to check the male before the female anyway, probably as its cheaper and less time consuming!

candycrush2298 · 21/09/2020 20:38

@Kaybobx omg this is so depressing. Lol I am so freaken impatient haha.

Woohoo your note seemed to have done the trick and you have soy for bed yippee

@candycrush2298 I've just read that forum! With COVID nearly a year now!! And there's talk of another lockdown oh mannnnn. I did see someone paid through Nuffield and got pregnant that month, that's who I work for and will be going to woooh.

My pills are hereeeee. Just got home.

candycrush2298 · 21/09/2020 21:32

@Kaybobx omg I know right nearly a freaken year.... just kill me now. I just checked Nuffield has a clinic in Glasgow and they have 0% payment plans. Going to just message to see their price and if it qualifies for the 0% payment plan or if they have a minimum amount. If I can then I am going to get my US wait on the results from that see what it says and the same hubbys SA and if there's nothing found in both the test/scan then I might just go for the private HSG and buy me some clomid after that HSG and do it on my own while sitting in the queue for the fertility clinic appointment.

candycrush2298 · 21/09/2020 21:33

@Kaybobx whoop whoop for your tests arriving will you and hubby start taking COQ10 from today?

OP posts:
candycrush2298 · 21/09/2020 21:34

@Kaybobx typo have tests on the brain that was meant to read yay for your pills arriving 🤣🤣🤣🤣

OP posts:
Kaybobx · 21/09/2020 21:45

@candycrush2298 I'll find out if i can get you discount as the form says 'friends and family discount at the top' so will see what the criteria is.

We've both just taken the COQ10 and ive just had a soy.
Hubby said 'shall i wait up for you' hahaha noooo not that time yet hun 😂😂

candycrush2298 · 21/09/2020 21:56

@Kaybobx ooooh thank you, not sure how it works with the payment plan as well. But if you can I won't say no lol!!!

Nice!! What dose are you starting with soy tonight? Sorry I can't remember whahahah

OP posts:
Kaybobx · 21/09/2020 22:10

@candycrush2298 i didn't know they did a payment plan, I'll look into that myself.

Started on 150mg soy, they are 50mg tablets so my dosage will be slightly different to everyone else's 😂

ReginaaPhalange · 21/09/2020 22:41

I'm stressing. In the last hour I've had a constant cough! DH has a lowered immune system so there's no way he will want to bd with me! I'm hoping it's something in the air and will be away by the morning :(

candycrush2298 · 21/09/2020 23:35

@Kaybobx yeah check it out its 6months 0% interest or 10 months guessing 10 months is for large sums.

@ReginaaPhalange oh no I freaken hope its just something in the air. Its best you don't bd with hubby just in case. Thats scary!!!

OP posts:
Boc86 · 22/09/2020 08:14

Yay for pills arriving @Kaybobx

Oh no @ReginaaPhalange hope it’s not corona!

@candycrush2298 I’m being seen in the infertility clinic 4 weeks after my referral! It’s this Friday 🤗🤗

ReginaaPhalange · 22/09/2020 08:42

Think I'm ok @candycrush2298 @Boc86 . No more coughing since last night

candycrush2298 · 22/09/2020 09:27

@Boc86 you're so lucky!!! Very jealous.

Just got this email back from Nuffield @Elakiya does this mean a GP can refer me to a private HSG but not an NHS one I am so confused. Or maybe you know @Kaybobx

CSG (Thread 4)
OP posts:
Kaybobx · 22/09/2020 09:35

@candycrush2298 yes your GP can refer you but they'll probably tell you to wait and have all the other checks first. What did you ask them on your first email? They didn't mention anything to me about GP referral.

candycrush2298 · 22/09/2020 09:38

@Kaybobx it was a form I filled in an online and I just asked the price nothing else. So after my scan I can ask my GP to refer me. Does this mean when @Elakiya said a GP cant refer you thats just for the NHS doing it but he can refer you to private? This is so confusing lol.

OP posts:
candycrush2298 · 22/09/2020 09:49

@Kaybobx ok so I can ask him for a referral after this scan for private I get it thanks for sharing. My confusion comes in is if he - the doctor can only refer me privately and he cannot refer me on the NHS?

OP posts:
Kaybobx · 22/09/2020 09:54

@candycrush2298 yes of course he can refer you on NHS but you'll wait 12 months. If you go private you'll have an appointment within a week. That's why it costs so much.

You can go private without GP referral too.
