positive pregnancy tests turned negative

so yesterday i was 10dpo and i did around 10 tests all together all came out positive without mistake but got fainter as the day went, ive had morning sickness and food aversions since then but all day today my tests have been negative and i cant figure out why, ive had no bleeding or pain just pregnancy symptoms.

i have been drinking 3-4 pints of juice since my positive to stay hydrated i dont know wether that will play a part

Could be your urine has been watered down so try to drink less and try a test using your first wee of the day. If that one is negative I woukd say possibly a chemical pregnancy sorry xx

It's super strange they would go from THAT positive to negatives! Even if this was a chemical pregnancy / v early miscarriage they typically slowly get fainter, not suddenly nothing!

I'd say use first thing in the morning urine next time.

Those also seem super strong for 10DPO... and cant be if the clearblue is saying 3+ weeks?

its confused me so much i have had twins before so im thinking maybe my hcg is too high that it wont pick it up as tests can get overwhelmed i dont know why it would go like that i still have symptoms but i am so scared

it turns out this is most likely the hook effect where the levels of hcg get too high for a test to pick up so i followed some advise about adding water to my urine to dilute the hormone and i got a faint positive for the first time today

Wow that is so interesting @jadea12321 So do you suspect twins again? I've heard about hook effect but never seen it.

it sure looks like thats whats happened considering i used 50% water with that test at the same time as using my normal urine on another of the same test only the water one showed a line even though it was faint, i did have twins last pregnancy but lost one very early so it wouldnt suprise me to have caught with twins again, i am going to book the doctors monday to see if i can have some bloods done

Are u 100% ur only 10/11dpo? As it still seems very early for the hook effect to happen already even with twins. Ur not even 2 weeks pregnant?

Maybe u are further along than u realised with the 3+ and the hook effect?

i did track my ovulation daily from my period 5 weeks ago i ovulated on the 8th of september

It’s a very faint line on the test you have diluted. Usually with the hook effect if you dilute your urine the test will be a strong positive again. It is really strange that you could have strong tests one day and then nothing the day after, it makes no sense at all

i agree it makes no sense i have no clue in all honesty its just what i have seen i may have diluted it too much causing it to be too faint

Apologies just seen that you diluted it 50/50 which may account for it. When I did it I read to add 30% water which gave a strong positive again

I’ll add I was 11 weeks pregnant when I had the hook affect. Found a box of spare pregnancy tests and peed on one (as you do ) and the result was really faint so I panicked, Your hcg must be sky high! I hit 3+ on a clear blue at 17dpo when my hcg was 3952 and took another one at 8 weeks and it still gave a 3+ result, my hcg must of been over 100,000 by then.

I’ve just googled for the hook affect to occur, hcg should be around 500,000.

How did you get a 3+ on clear blue and then a not pregnant on the same day, at 10dpo? Doesn't seem possible?

The not pregnant was the morning after I got the 3+ weeks I’m not sure how it’s gone to not pregnant I wish I knew and the hook effect is just a guess due to the faint line showing after diluting I’m not 100% about any possibility I’m just as confused

Update I did do one this morning the faint I got yesterday was a 10miu I had done a 25miu test yesterday and completely negative today I did a 25miu and a faint line yet again I’m due on in 2 days

This was this mornings the glass case cover was covered in scratches and the camera wouldn’t focus so yes it has been removed but the line was there before the case was removed

It could be a chemical pregnancy it happened to me only just 2 weeks ago
