11 DPO and a BFN for me (FRER). AF due in 4 days so I feel like I'm most likely out. I know it's the first month but it still kind of sucks! Sad

BeckyHughes · 24/09/2020 05:56

I’m 29 & trying for baby #1. I track my cycle so have a good idea when AF should be due.
Me & my OH tried for about 6 months last year but it didn’t work out and I became obsessed and very stressed so we put the breaks on for a while.
We went away on holiday 3 weeks ago and I have now found myself 2 days late. I’m trying to hold out to make sure that AF is not going to start but I have not been late in months.
I’m so scared to take a test as I don’t want the disappointment of it coming back negative.
Wish you all the best luck and hopefully I will pluck up the courage to test soon!

AnnaPosie · 24/09/2020 10:50

@eloiseislost

You're not out til AF arrives, I know how you feel though, in some ways the first cycle is the hardest because you just really want it to work the first time around! Try and do something nice for yourself.

@galatea098 ah it's so frustrating isn't it and even if you are gearing yourself up for AF it's always horrible when she arrives and it's hard not to blame yourself or think something is wrong but then I always go back to the average time it takes for couples and it's always about a year or so , so it will happen ♥️

@trying4one

Welcome to the thread 🙂 it's overwhelming isn't it and so much to learn ! I am actually shocked how little I knew about ttc! So you are not alone ! Feel free to ask any questions you have or if you need to rant , this is a safe space 😊

@AnnaPosie thank you. I could easily feel so overwhelmed. I am trying to keep things simple and calm at the moment and don't want to do temperature at the moment. Only doing lh strips this month to make I am ovulating when I think I am (my body usually gives me cues). Give me a few months and that may change 😂😂😂

@galatea098 oh I feel you. I was convinced I was pregnant last cycle as I was getting bleeding (that I thought was implantation) and then AF turned up 2 days early 🤦 fingers crossed for the next cycle 🤞

@galatea098 I am cd12 and I believe i am due to ovulate in the next few days. My lh is still really low but my body is starting to give me cues so think it is on its way. Read about using hot water bottles before ovulation and cough medicine to keep cervical mucus thin so I am trying those 😂
If nothing happens this cycle I may try raspberry leaf tea next cycle. What have you been trying?

BellaBella84 · 24/09/2020 13:51

@Trying4one pre seed, but still no joy

BellaBella84 · 24/09/2020 13:54

@AnnaPosie Have you peed on a stick yet?!

@bellabella84 just there and got a negative , I bought one of those clear blue ones that tell you how many weeks because I convinced myself overnight I am🙈 longest wait ever and then got the "not pregnant"
Disappointed but I knew in the back of mind I wasn't but was just really hoping.

Think we will take a break for the rest of the year with the wedding coming and I just need the break mentally I think but look we will get there eventually 😂

BellaBella84 · 24/09/2020 19:31

@Galatea098 The applicator is amusing and definitely not sexy! I usually put some in before my husband comes up to bed. The idea is that it makes your cervical mucus easier for sperm to swim through. Meh juries out, I'm not pregnant yet, but I'm also 36 and definitely not getting enough 🤣

BellaBella84 · 24/09/2020 19:32

@AnnaPosie Argh! I'm gutted for you! Good luck with the last of your wedding planning 🤞

AnnaPosie · 26/09/2020 12:44

@bellabella84 thank you, I was disappointed for sure, period is still late so just want it to come now and get it over with, think it's late because of the stress of the break-in etc so hopefully it will come today and can just get onto the next cycle !
Hope you are doing well 😊

Hi, I have been reading this thread & hoping I can join as this is all very new to me so you will have to bare with me with all the appreciations 🤣. I am 30 and TTC baby number 1, this is our first month. I have been using Flo since 2018 to track AF and it’s always spot on. We DTD 3 times in fertile window according to Flo. I have bought some ovulation tests so will try them next month if not very lucky this month. I am taking folic acid. Has anyone got any more tips? AF is due 5th Oct when is best to test? I have been feeling little twinges past few day’s but as this is the first month trying I can’t say that that doesn’t usually happen. X x

BellaBella84 · 26/09/2020 14:22

🤞@JG89 🤞
I'm 36 and TTC #1, and have been trying for at least 6 months (might have been as much as 8, I lose track now!) Testing is a completely personal decision and there is no right or wrong. I personally wait until my period would be due beause testing early holds no benefits for me. I've already sorted my meds and vits for pregnancy. I also can't cope with raising then dashing my hopes every day for a week, once is plenty enough! Waiting that extra week helps to reduce finding out about those blastocyst cells which don't make it to embryonic too. (Chemical pregnancies.)
Someone else on here will be able to give you some positive reasons for testing early, but I hope this helps a little.

JG89 · 26/09/2020 14:42

@BellaBella84 thank you! I have been leaning on the side of waiting to test until I am due on, makes more sense for me too but it’s so hard isn’t it! I have downloaded Ovia & Clue also but each is a few days different, I suppose I can’t solely rely on an app to tell me about my body. I will use ovulation test next month also. Hopefully some good news for us on this thread very soon 🙏🏼🥰
