got my af today after 9 months of trying, one my and two cps. Feel so deflated. Doesn't matter what I try, nothing is working. Anyone else just feel like that?

Yes am in the same boat trying everything for 10 months now after a miscarriage its sole distroying have u had any joy since you put ur post up?

GeordieGirl47 · 01/02/2021 10:57

I've given up hope of anything ever happening I think. 1 CP in 5 years! It truly is soul destroying. I could understand better I think if I was conceiving, even if the pregnancy didn't progress. Absolutely not minimising the heartbreak this causes, but I just mean, from a biological point of view, I would accept it's because my eggs are faulty, but I can't understand why we're at least not conceiving, I mean what's all that sperm doing when it's sitting up there waiting for my egg....sleeping? Confused

Ttc42nearly43 · 04/02/2021 22:53

Geordiegirl47 Would your partner consider IVF I'd love to try that but my husband won't even consider it but it may be an option for you to think about

GeordieGirl47 · 05/02/2021 00:22

Ttc42nearly43 I've not even raised it with him, because while he's "happy" to have another child, he's not "desperate" to. He can accept it probably won't happen. He just says "what will be will be". We got together later in life so I have adult children and so does he. Also, he has savings, I don't, and I don't think he'd be willing to use them to spend £10,000 on IVF, so I just need to hope for a miracle.

Ttc42nearly43 · 05/02/2021 07:52

Just out interest how old are you am 43 in a couple of months am going for some fertility tests next week am getting a FSH and AMH test apparently it can give you a good indication if you still have many eggs and if they are of any decent quality. Am a bit nervous as if the results are not good then all hope will be lost for me

GeordieGirl47 · 05/02/2021 14:11

Ttc42nearly43 I'm 48. Wish I was 43 again! Lol! Don't be nervous, I'm sure it will be fine, and even if it's not, it doesn't mean it won't happen for you. I had all these tests done around 3 years ago. Can't remember my numbers but was told they were great, best they could be for my age, also had my tubes flushed to check for blockages, they were clear, yet it still hasn't happened. Yet there are loads of stories of women conceiving against all the odds. I feel sometimes there's an element of luck or fate, or something to it, but I'm sure you will be fine, you're still relatively young. Just look after yourself, diet, exercise, etc. I feel I was a little too laid back back then and wish I had maybe been stricter with myself which may have resulted in a different outcome. Who knows Confused

Missreginafalange · 05/02/2021 14:27

Try not to stress is my key thing to say (easier said than done I know)

We were trying for 2 years and every month the disappointments was too much until I snapped in December 2020 and threw all the OPKs away, deleted all the ovulation apps and just said to my my other half, I cannot do this anymore it's too much. Let's just have sex and if it happens it happens if it doesn't count out blessings that we have a son already.

Well.... I am 5+2 weeks pregnant and in complete shock. It's still early days so have everything crossed. I'm hear to say it can happen just try not to put too much pressure on yourself. I am also 41 and due the day after my 42nd birthday

GeordieGirl47 · 05/02/2021 14:32

Missreginafalange Love the name! Lol!

Wow! Congratulations to you! That is great! It's strange isn't it, like I was saying before, there's no rhyme or reason to any of it! Hope you're not feeling too rough yet.

Missreginafalange · 05/02/2021 14:40

Thanks @GeordieGirl47 no real issues yet apart from sore boobs and the odd wave of nausea. Do have a private early scan booked just to ease the mind!

But you are right, there really is no rhyme or reason to it! I had bloods done last year etc. that were all normal, the GP said getting pregnant is luck of the draw....

Ttc42nearly43 · 05/02/2021 23:26

Congratulations such fab news for you you're a little younger than me and I really do think that the years make a difference. I have cut out all caffeine and alcohol (quite a challenge) plus started a vitamin Ubiquinone I heard that may help but who know if it will tho only time will tell.

Keep us posted on your scan Missreginafalange hope you get on ok.

@Ttc42nearly43 hi hun sorry for late reply but I wanted to update you. Yes I got my bfp 3 days ago after a year of trying. I am 5 weeks 4 days and honestly I didn't have a clue I was apart from being late and tiredness.
I was going to ask if you've had your amh checked? I knew I stood a chance as mine was high for my age. I still can't believe it tbh. How have things been for you? Xxxx

They are still quite good hun...have you been pregnant before? Mine was 8.49 at 41 and I'm 8 weeks now. I had afew MCs last year xx I knew a lady on another forum who was lower than you yet concieved naturally. 0.1 is menopausal I believe... xx
OP posts:
SamoyedFan123 · 16/03/2021 11:57

@Ttc42nearly43 4.5 isn't too bad at all - there are many ladies in the infertility boards younger and with lower AMH than that. Hope is definitely not lost!

Ttc42nearly43 · 16/03/2021 15:14

Yeah I have 2 children already when trying for my daughter I had 2 miscarriages then in between my daughter and son another misscaridge then last year 5 years after my son was born another misscaridge. No success getting pregnant since then despite using everything out there to pin point my ovulation dates. I was told that for my age this level is normal but it seems awfully low.

Are you having regular sex? I think that makes all the difference too not just in the fertile window xx

Hello everyone, please can I join? Have been lurking. I am 41 and have a teenager DD. Had a mc 2 years ago and a chemical last month (even after my missed period the bfp was barely visible so I was not hopeful). Yesterday I had a 'feeling' so tested and got this. Not darker today though. Annoyingly, I just feel sad, like I'm waiting for it to go wrong 😢 I have been ttc no. 2 for two years now and it completely takes over and is so emotionally painful every month. I wish us all good luck.
