5 days late and not pregnant

I know there are lots of feeds about this subject but I'm looking for what else it could be. I've looked online but it can be overwhelming. We are trying for a baby so I'm hoping nothing is wrong but I just wondered if anyone else had been in this situation? I know I ovulated as I bleed a little on my 14th day and I've always come on, on the 28th day so this is all new to me.

Hi @peacheswife I’m currently 9 days late with no sign and lots of BFN’s. From posters on here and google it seems that it isn’t unusual to skip a period or for it to be late. Have you taken any tests?

@Mama090319 I took a test on day 2 but it was negative. I have no normal for me period like symptoms which is odd. I've seen it's normal to not have a period sometimes but knowing I ovulated makes it strange. I've just been worried it was something medical.

@peacheswife I’d maybe take another test and if still no answer wait a while and then contact your GP? I’m going to call mine at the end of the week but if other posters are correct, they won’t see it as a big deal until you’ve missed 2 or 3 periods. Seems very odd to me who has always been regular!

@Mama090319 I'm going for my food shop today so I'm going to buy another test as I don't have them in the house. I read on the NHS website that after two negative tests and a missed period contact your GP so that's what I was going to do. Are you trying for a baby or just missed a period? It does seem odd to be regular from age 13 and then nothing randomly at 29.

I have an 11 month old DD who we tried desperately and for a long time for. I was waiting to have a coil fitted but then COVID hit. We’d be happy with a BFP but if my period arrived that would be fine too. It’s all the uncertainty I can’t handle Hopefully it was just a late implantation for you and a BFP is on the way!

Hello, I'm three weeks late now and TTC but breastfeeding still so mine could have an explanation. Still bloody annoying! I think most doctors won't do anything until two or three cycles are missed but definitely worth speaking to them as they might do a blood test if you request one? I've done a lot of googling and some ladies don't get their BFPs until days/weeks after their missed period so you aren't out until AF shows. Fingers crossed for you 🤞

@Mama090319 that's what is annoying me the waiting. I'd be ok if it was AF as I'd know and could start trying again but the hanging around is driving me mad 😂 fingers crossed you get an answer soon x

@Ladybird345 it's madness that your body can play these games 😂 I had a miscarriage in February but everything went back to normal straight away so it could have something to do with that but seems unlikely from what I was told by the miscarriage awareness people. Hopefully our body's stop misbehaving and we get some sort of normality back. Thank you

Yeah I feel myself going slowly insane. I don't have much will power though and do a cheap strip pregnancy test each morning to see what it shows. I even had a line the other day but then nothing since so that was helpful 🙄 I think it's safe to say I'm not pregnant as I'm sure a test would be clearly positive by now but you never know lol.
Maybe you should try another test to see what it shows?
Sorry to hear about your miscarriage, it could possibly have something to do with your cycle but then it's hard to say if your periods returned as normal?

@peacheswife @Ladybird345 hopefully we’ll all get some answers soon! I take a cheap test every morning but like ladybird, I’m not really expecting it to be anything at this point because I’m so late. I just want some answers

@Mama090319 @Ladybird345 I hope you both get answers soon. I've opted not to do a test every day as I would go mad or be upset every day. I find it easier to ignore it all and wait.

Stress? Every one is different but to me 5 days late means nothing. But if your like clockwork could be stress, possibly diet?

@june2007 I'm normally not a stressed person but this month I was due to have the baby I lost. I didn't think it affected me that much but maybe that's part of it. I guess I'll just have to wait and see

I have very regular 28 day cycles then a few month ago in May I was randomly 10 days late and had a 38 day cycle. I was hoping for a BFP and done a few tests but all negative, I was then worried about what it could be and everyone was saying it was stress but didn't feel at all stressed. Since then my cycles have went back to normal and looking back I think it was probably stress as it was the first month of using OPKs and really analysing everything for the full cycle. If you are still getting negative tests the likeliness of being pregnant is very slim. 5 days late is not a missed period it's still just late so try not to worry and it will more than likely arrive in the next few days. Hello am new here. Iam the same 9 days late but with 4 very faint positive am unsure that this is the evaporation line i will be gutted if it is 😰

This happened to me when TTC #2. I was incredibly regular then one month I randomly had a 42 day cycle out of nowhere. It was awful as I knew I wasn't pregnant so i just wanted my period to come so i could get it over with and try again. I conceived the month after, so maybe it's a good luck sign. @Newtothis12 have you tried a digital one? When I was pregnant the cheap strip ones were very faint so I bought a digital and it said pregnant. Could give you a definite answer, fingers crossed for you

So glad hearing other people are in the same boat. I'm on cycle day 50 so guessing my period is classed as missed now?

I'm five days late too but have the copper coil. I'm seeing the GP in a couple of hours but I think that's because I'm at higher risk of ectopic pregnancy.

@peacheswife hello yes i have taken a digital one but said not pregnant however if i am i will only be 3weeks and silly me took digital one at 8pm and i have heard u need a high amount of hormone to trigger the digital ones i could be talking rubbish x

@Ladybird345 there really should be more information online and from our GPs, I will keep you updated. I just find it odd that if I know I ovulated what would happen to the egg 😂 I'm going to contact my GP this week so I'll let you know what they say.

@Newtothis12 when commenting there is a paper clip button, that's how you add the photos. Try again with your morning wee as your hormones might not be strong enough but when I was pregnant I did the test in the afternoon and it worked. They are all so different.

It's such a cruel game isn't it 😭this has happened to me twice. Once I didn't actually ovulate and skipped a whole period. Second time I had a 40 day long cycle (usually 32 days) for absolutely no reason whatsoever. The doctor basically said women's bodies are highly unpredictable, even the pain ones with regular cycles!
