Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 3

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

@Mrsi2020 mine hadn't really risen, but then I thought well I've quit alcohol which always used to make it rise, and reduced caffeine and eaten more healthily - all things which can reduce your HR on Fitbit! So stop worrying about it, I think it's only good to see a trend at the start when you see AF doesn't show. I don't think it's a reliable metric after that, otherwise there would be medical research on it xx

LS2020 · 03/10/2020 11:03

Sorry all, been a bit of a funk so had my head in the sand last 24 hours!

@Mrsi2020 have you got your graph? Lots of stuff can affect, exercise, life stress, sleep patterns, literally how tight you have your band on so try not to worry ☺️

LS2020 · 03/10/2020 11:08

@Chlo2701 sorry for your loss - I started my bleed on the 18th and was due to ovulate this week and never got a positive OPK but did get some EWCM. My RHR goes up after O and that started 2 days ago when I was normally due to ovulate so thought that was it but my RHR has now gone down which it never does after O so no idea what’s going on for me either!

SarahTTC2020 · 03/10/2020 12:27

Looks like I'm finally on the rise 😁

Oh @LS2020 I'm sorry to hear that, it's ok to be in a funk, especially if your chart is being weird 💛

Thanks girls! I had a scan on Tuesday and it was all good. It’s still dropping. Hopefully I have symptoms soon! This is weird for me considering I am usually severely ill when preg lol xx

@Mrsi2020 I mentioned this the other day about how it's really normal at your stage! I think it's partly due to the transition from yolk sac to placenta?

Hello All,
I was wondering if anyone could look at my Fitbit RHR and bbt chart and let me know what you think.
I came off my pill on 24th August and still haven’t had a period yet. I’m trying to work out when or if I’m ovulating. I am also taking my bbt but only properly since 14th September as didn’t have the correct type of thermometer. I am taking my temp daily at 6am.

Please if anyone could help with interpreting it would be appreciated

@Juno231 I know! I’m just scared! Thanks love! Xxx

@Moocher90 I would guess youve ovulated before taking your bbt, you can ovulate pretty quickly after coming off the pill, your body won’t have waited a full month, you should be due to ovulate again soon . That’s my guess xxx

Juno231 · 04/10/2020 08:55

@Moocher90 per your bbt chart you haven't ovulated yet I'm afraid. It can take a while to get back to normal after the pill though so nothing to get concerned about yet!

So I started using OvuSense this cycle and have been transferring the temp data into ff just to see how it correlates.

According to OvuSense I ovulated Tuesday 29th, ff puts it at Wednesday 30th.

My Fitbit has been static at 69bpm for days now. I’ve circled where ovulation supposedly occurred (according to OvuSense). Today’s dot isn’t showing on the Fitbit graph yet.

Currently 5dpo.

Thanks @Juno231 and @Mrsi2020 xx

LS2020 · 04/10/2020 09:25

Well absolutely any guesses to my chart is welcome 😂 I’m assuming this means I ovulated when I expected to as I guess overall I’m on the rise??

@Mrsi2020 I was going to ask similar to @Juno231 that I think it’s around the time the placenta starts developing so probably just bean moving house! I’ve also heard it’s really common for women to have different symptoms each preg, normally if child is the a different gender to ones you’ve had? 🙂 (but doubt anything scientific has been done on that!)

@SarahTTC2020 thanks lovely, so glad to hear you’re on the rise 🤞🏻

LS2020 · 04/10/2020 09:28

@Moominmiss I’m normally the second dot on RHR when I rise. Mine seems to rise with LH but everyone’s different I guess!

Juno231 · 04/10/2020 09:28

@Moocher90 I'm going to have to disagrer with @Mrsi2020 though - as the longest a luteal phase can be is 17 days and had you ovulated before starting bbt you'd have had a period by now xx

Chlo2701 · 04/10/2020 09:45

@LS2020 sorry for your loss too love it's horrible isn't it, just leaves you feeling really empty. I noticed that you were trying for 15 months aswel, so same as me, & we both lost at 5wks too😔 me & you are in the exactly same boat at the moment.
So this is my RHR chart today....
I don't think I ovulated on the 21st Sept like I thought I might have, because that would make my LP 13 days today, & my LP is only ever 10/11 days at most.
So I think I might of ovulated on the 27th Sept🤷‍♀️ x

Chlo2701 · 04/10/2020 09:46

Would help if I remembered to attach the pic🤦‍♀️

LS2020 · 04/10/2020 09:55

@Chlo2701 was it your first CP too? It almost just felt so cruel of 15 months of nothing to only have a week. It’s deffo a bittersweet thing though because I feel so much more excited that I can get pregnant, I started having the fear I would never get a BFP.

Could be your cycles being a bit messed up so you’ve got a longer LP? Given the uptick in your RHR, you deffo have at some point around that week. I think given where you are on RHR, you’re either a couple of days from AF now or you’ve got a nice upwards trend for a BFP ☺️

Chlo2701 · 04/10/2020 11:04

@LS2020 yes totally get what you mean, bittersweet, I knew I was pregnant for 9 days before I started bleeding, had a really strong line on a FRER & was confirmed by a CB digital 1-2wks😒 like you said at least you know you can get pregnant. I'm lucky enough to have 2 already, they'll be 15 & 11 next month🙈 but I'm nearly 36 so I'm worried of the quality of my eggs, so I've been taking Coq10 for the past 4months & DHA aswel.
You're right my LP might be messed up, I definitely won't be getting a BFP as my RHR chart looks nothing like it did when I got my BFP, & I had implantation bleeding & implantation pains & not got any of that this month, so I'm just sitting over here waiting for AF. When do you think you might get AF roughly?
If I go by my last dip when I think I may of ovulated I'd be due on this Thursday. I'd love it if it didn't come but I'm not holding out much hope at all x

Mrsi2020 · 04/10/2020 12:25

@Juno231 totally feel free to disagree you are 100% more clued up on this than me! I think you actually told me when I ovulated. 🤣

Thanks everyone! I’m hoping it’s just that, this is my 8th bfp and I’m just praying we have a sticky. I think I keep preparing myself for the worst just to protect myself.

@LS2020 @Chlo2701 fingers crossed for you! A cp/mc is horrible :( my gp said they only count it as a cp before after due and that if you’ve gotten a digi or past af date they consider it a mc . It’s silly because it shouldn’t be reassuring but for me it validated my feelings a little more. 🤷🏼‍♀️ fingers crossed for everyone! This thread has went some distance now and I’d love to see everyone on the other side xxx

Chlo2701 · 04/10/2020 12:41

@Mrsi2020 I completely get that you feel scared, & you wish symptoms on yourself because then it feels more real. Let's hope you breeze through this pregnancy with no sickness, how amazing would that be! I struggled so bad with sickness with my 11yr old! Was sick the whole 9 months🤮🤢 I ended up being smaller (weight wise) after I had him than what I was before I got pregnant with him!
Yes I was over a week late for my period & I'm a regular 28day girl. Just gutting isn't it. Sorry for all of your losses, but sounds like this little on is sticking for you 🤗xx

LS2020 · 04/10/2020 12:44

@Chlo2701 yes I was a bit similar, got a digi result and had very clear pregnancy symptoms so it was a very real loss 😔
Have you had any fsh testing done?
Maybe just give your RHR another day or two to see what it does, if it drops Wednesday AF is probs on her way. Our body will be all over the shop after the CP though so is anyone’s guess! Ages for me yet, app is saying a week on Wednesday but I think would be Tuesday if a normal cycle (the Fitbit app uses averages and as my pregnancy moved last months AF out by a week it’s revised my average up a day)

@Mrsi2020 have you thought about another scan just to reassure yourself more? Yeah when I spoke to the doctor he said it was definitely a miscarriage based on what I had. In a way it was nice validation of my pregnancy even though it was such a sad conversation!

Chlo2701 · 04/10/2020 13:25

@LS2020 whats involved in the fsh testing? I think I'm going to keep going as I am, taking my vitamins & supplements then if I've not fallen by January, I'll be ringing the docs for further tests & see what they can do. I've just got this niggly gut feeling it's the quality of my eggs🤷‍♀️
I've read that people's bodies can be all over the place after a loss. Some go straight back to normal, others can ovulate early & others ovulate late. I guess its just going to be a sitting & waiting game for us hun, I suppose we just have to be patient, but I'll be honest, because it took me so long to fall pregnant my patience is wearing pretty bloody thin! I've also read that you're supposed to be more fertile 3-6 months after but then I also know ladies that have miscarried & are still trying a year later!! What will be will be I suppose 🙄xx

Mrsi2020 · 04/10/2020 14:34

Thanks! I have another private scan booked for 3 weeks away but I might get another next week too 🙈😳

Girls have yous considered agnus cactus? That’s what I did this time.... agnus cactus, 75mg aspirin, pregnacare, checked bbt opk and used conception gel 🤣 xxx

LS2020 · 04/10/2020 16:51

@Chlo2701 I think you can do poas FSH testing and it’s basically the hormone involved with maturing your eggs (purely for your own reassurance re eggs). I think if it’s high it means your body is having to work overtime on the quality. There’s AMH tests too which I think are blood and they tell you what your egg reserve is if that’s part of any egg concern ☺️
Yeah I’m with you, the thought of having to do another 15 months of Bfns for another chance is agonising.

@Mrsi2020 might just reassure you a bit more ☺️ I heard Angus cactus messes with cycle length and as I have short cycles I don’t want to ruin that so never been sure. This was our second month on conceive plus though so think that helped too!

GlassLily · 04/10/2020 22:38

@mumof23188 @LS2020 it revised down and AF arrived 3 days early, for a LP of 11 days, so I'm not feeling great about that - bit short, don't you think? Hoping it was a one-off. Anyway I've had a few days off TTC madness.
