Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 3

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

@mumof23188 No, I only ever test if AF is late. Call me a pessimist but I don't see the point in testing before that. Either I'll get a BFN and be sad, or possibly a BFP and still be on tenterhooks thinking AF will probably show up after all. So 4 more days to wait.

But it's time for me to get into the mindset of 32 more days, since I don't think this is my month.

GlassLily · 01/10/2020 11:04

Good luck @SarahTTC2020 🤞🏻 keep us posted. I'm sure it will all be ok 🙂

GlassLily · 01/10/2020 11:13

My current HR is 8bpm lower than my RHR for the day (!) so I assume RHR will be getting revised down later!

SarahTTC2020 · 01/10/2020 17:04

@GlassLily fitbits are a bit annoying for things like that aren't they

I've plateaued for 4 days now at 59... Really hoping it starts going up again but not sure at what point it would, I'm 4w+1 at the moment

@SarahTTC2020 oh wow your RHR is flat! I think it’s best wearing at night to get most accurate reading though so might be why you haven’t seen much change today ☺️

@mumof23188 thanks think I am going to try test again tonight. I deffo won’t ovulate after today as always have a 14 day LP and today would make a 27 day cycle which is long for me! Wouldn’t worry on your RHR at this stage, loads of time to go up ☺️

@GlassLily it’s always nice to get those results so glad they came back normal! Did your RHR revised today?

LS2020 · 01/10/2020 19:26

@mumof23188 still a static smiley on OPK :( gonna try tomorrow and then give up I think

mumof23188 · 02/10/2020 07:08

@poptypingchef how are you today? Any sign of AF?

@GlassLily I am a pessimist aswell. I can’t help but test tho 🤣. How’s your HR looking today?

@LS2020 morning! Any luck today? 🤞🤞 how many days have you tested with the CB?

4dpo today! My HR has dropped again. I’ve never had this after ovulation, feeling really confused by it.

LS2020 · 02/10/2020 07:16

@mumof23188 morning! I decided against testing today because I have enough sticks to test a normal cycle so would rather do that and check next time I actually have. There’s no way I’m only ovulating now or my LP will be too short so it’s probs not gonna happen if it hadn’t! Going to try DTD every other day for the next week and hopefully know we’ve caught what we can ☺️ Tbh I’m not sure I am ovulating this month because I have such weird mid cycle symptoms, must still be under the weather because been so sicky this morning too 😔

How strange on your RHR - that’s what mine used to be like and now I’ve swapped that mine goes up 😂 stuck on a flat 59 again today though so doesn’t look like I’m going anywhere short term!

Mrsi2020 · 02/10/2020 07:26

@LS2020 dtd every other day is a good plan!!! 🤞🏻 xx

LS2020 · 02/10/2020 07:29

@Mrsi2020 how are you getting on?
It’s getting just a bit tiring though so if we get to next weds I’ll see that as an achievement 😂

Mrsi2020 · 02/10/2020 07:32

I’m good. Scared and wishing the time away but good lol!

Aww it does, dh and I were the same, I ended up just saying let’s just literally have a two minute quickie a couple of times abs because that’s never me we giggled about it and made it through 🤣🤣🤣🤣 xx

Juno231 · 02/10/2020 09:57

@Mrsi2020 how many weeks are you? lots of the girls from one of my busses had this around the 7/8 week mark and it is apparently quite normal and nothing sinister at all!

poptypingchef · 02/10/2020 10:09

@mumof23188 no AF as yet and my RHR is still static at 62. I suspect the OPK was wrong and she’ll turn up on CD28 as usual.

I’ve had dips after ovulation! That’s one of the reasons I think I was later as there is a dip 2 days after I got my positive

mumof23188 · 02/10/2020 12:36

@LS2020 ah good idea. Best to save them. They’re expensive aren’t they. Sorry to hear you are feeling poorly 😩. Hope you feel better soon. So frustrating, I really feel for you. Sending a big hug 🤗

@Mrsi2020 try not to worry! I know it’s easier said than done. My HR when pregnant was all over the place. Hope you are ok?

@Juno231 how are you doing? Hope the move went ok! How are you getting on in your cycle?

@poptypingchef when is CD28? Wishing you good luck 🤞🤞

I’ve never had a drop this big after ovulation. So frustrating because every month it’s different 😩😩

LS2020 · 02/10/2020 12:45

@Mrsi2020 haha yeah we’ve had to agree on some unromantic quickies 😂 aww try not to worry too much lovely and enjoy your 9 months as much as possible!

@mumof23188 thanks lovely. Honestly nearly had a cry an hour ago - I think there must be something with pregnancy hormones not leaving your body or how you react to rises in hormone after. I almost just feel so pregnant again, I’ve got sore boobs, struggling with sick and then this morning been so nauseous that’s only made better by snacking and it reminds me so much of my BFP time it’s so upsetting 😢 I’m probably just super run down but coupled with no ovulating I’m feeling v bummed out about it all!

poptypingchef · 02/10/2020 13:57

@mumof23188 it would be Monday. It’s really disconcerting isn’t it.

mumof23188 · 02/10/2020 14:31

@LS2020 ohh I’m so sorry to hear that. Sounds so tough. Look after yourself. Sounds like you definitely need a treat! It could be that you will ovulate late as the CP has thrown your cycle out of the norm? I’ve read about some others ovulating late. I’m not surprised you are lovely. What a tough month for you 😢

@poptypingchef not long to wait to know now for you. Have a nice weekend and hopefully Monday will bring some good news 🤞. It really is!

Chlo2701 · 02/10/2020 16:05

Please please can I have your help ladies!
I had an early loss at 5 weeks & now I've got no idea where I am in my cycle & if & when I ovulated. I normally use Clearblue Digital ovulation but I didn't after the loss because I had read that ovulation can change because of cycle being disrupted.

If I count the first day of bleeding I'm CD22 today.

I started bleeding Fri 11th Sept. Bleeding lasted a week so finished on Fri 18th Sept.

The 1st pic is when I last ovulated, 24th Aug (the month I got my BFP) & my RHR dropped to 53bpm.

The 2nd pic is when my RHR dropped to 53bpm, (21st Sept) & I wondered if that's when I ovulated, but that's only a few days after I stopped bleeding 🤷‍♀️

The 3rd pic (27th Sept) when I had another dip. But I only dropped to 60bpm. I thought this was probably more likely when I ovulated as was a couple weeks after I started bleeding.

So my question is.... when do you think I possibly ovulated ladies?

Sorry if I've not explained it very well, it's driving me crazy because I normally know exactly where I am in my cycle & when I ovulated, but because of what happened I'm at a complete loss😣

@mumof23188 ah thank you but my heart rate has just dropped by 2 so I’ll Be shocked if it’s anything other than AF

mumof23188 · 02/10/2020 22:18

Hi @Chlo2701 I didn’t want to leave your message unanswered but I don’t think I can be of much help as mine seems to be different every cycle. In your other cycles do you have a dip or rise around ovulation? You could have a look back at previous cycles and see if it sheds any light. Sorry I couldn’t help!

@poptypingchef oh boo!! That’s rubbish. Sorry to hear that 😩

poptypingchef · 02/10/2020 23:07

Hi @Chlo2701 sorry to hear your news. if there’s is a dip around 2 weeks after it’s most likely to be then. However, I’d compare to other months as a guide and also I wouldn’t take anything as usual this month as it’s probably still getting back into the swing of things.

Thanks @mumof23188 to be honest once it’s clear in the week before AF it’s not my month I generally get more impatient than disappointed. I’d rather just get on with it

Mrsi2020 · 03/10/2020 01:27

Hi everyone! How are you all today?

@Chlo2701 I have no idea! Sorry for your loss and I hope you catch right away!

For the girls who messaged me, I’ve avoided mumsnet and google today) thanks for your replies, I’m 8 weeks on Tuesday so just praying all is ok and unless I have bleeding or cramps taking it as a good sign! I can’t believe I’m wishing for sore boobs and sickness lmao! Next scan 3 weeks, roll on!!!! Xxx

Mrsi2020 · 03/10/2020 08:53

Hi guys, rhr has dropped again, does anyone know what can affect it? Like what can make it dip or rise? I’m trying not to overthink and thought maybe there’s a logical reason why it’s dropping? Xxx

Chlo2701 · 03/10/2020 09:12

@mumof23188, it's typical isnt is because I only started tracking my RHR the month I got my BFP🙈 so got nothing to compare it to, & I know when I definitely ovulated that month because I was using the Clearblue Digital sticks, & my RHR went down to 53bpm, the lowest it's gone, so thats why I wondered if I ovulated when I hit 53bpm the next month🙉
@poptypingchef that's the thing, I've got two dips😣 one about 10 days after I started bleeding, which dipped to 53bpm like my last ovulation, then the next dip was 17 days after I stopped bleeding at 60bpm.
The second dip would be CD17 which is when I would usually ovulate so I'm leaning towards that one🤷‍♀️ it just threw me because of the 53bpm dip as that's what I went down to when I last ovulated.
@Mrsi2020 thankyou, I doubt I'll catch right away as it took 15months just to fall this time😣 & im nearly 36 so not getting any younger😔 sorry I can't help you with your RHR as it's all new to me. The only thing I'd suggest is that if you're really worried maybe try & get a private scan next wk to put your mind at rest? I've heard some women would get them weekly up until 13wks, because they'd had previous losses & just wanted to make sure everything was ok🤞🏻I would say relax but that's soooooo easier said than done x
