@Tofu35 thanks. It's not time away, I'm going to delete the app and I'm probably not going to come back.

I'm a lot further into this shit than most people here, and I would try pretty much any suggestion, but obviously others here aren't at that point yet (and I hope they never are). I sometimes forget this, and end up making suggestions which unintentionally cause offence. @BellaBella84 I didn't mean what I said in the way you took it, I was genuinely trying to suggest something to help with the lack of dtd.

Thank you all for being here and listening to me, it really has been a great help.

Good luck to everyone, I really hope we all get our BFPs soon x

@CEW19 I'm the same in terms of regularity, 28/29 days, and EWCM that lines up with my OPKs. It almost makes it more frustrating that even with regularity we still haven't got there! I've heard lots of people say the vitamins have made their cycle a bit off, see what happens with just the folic acid for a couple of months and report back 🤞

CEW19 · 23/09/2020 11:41

@Daffodil21 Sorry to see you go. Take care of yourself Flowers

Tofu35 · 23/09/2020 13:58

@bellabella84 @cew19 weird, I found pregnacare regulated my cycle- I used to be anywhere from 27 to 42 days but since starting the vitamins, I've been like clockwork. Just goes to show everyone's body is different.

Speaking of that, does anyone else find they get massively fatigued the week after ovulation? The last few days I've been fit for nothing, just like a wee slug. Not symptom spotting, way too early for that. Just feeling like I should hibernate during this part of the TWW! 😴

Tofu35 · 23/09/2020 14:01

@Daffodil21 good luck Flowers. Don't know if you've deleted the app at this point but you've been really helpful and wish you all the best in your next cycle x

BellaBella84 · 23/09/2020 14:11

@Tofu35@CEW19 It took my digestive system a few weeks to get used the iron in the Pregnacare, but otherwise no changes. And to be fair I'm constantly shattered at the moment, like seriously I've taken to having naps on my days off! 🙄

CEW19 · 23/09/2020 14:33

It wasn't off by much, but still not usual. Will see how the folic acid on its own does.

In other news, had my blood test results back from the fertility clinic today. 11.6, which is apparently normal for my age. Everything looks fine with me so we just have to wait now for DH analysis which he'll be dropping off on the 5th.

acaciabluebell · 24/09/2020 22:24

Hey all. I'm 2dpo today. Got verrrry sore boobs that's about it atm.

I had a blood test the other day at the GP because I mentioned about my cycle changing, weight gain, hair loss etc - general symtpoms that I've noticed and I was worried it could be due to PCOS. I haven't had the results yet but I'm just wondering, it possible that this blood test could actually diagnose PCOS? The test checked for Testosterone, LH and FSH hormones.

Tofu35 · 24/09/2020 22:59

Evening @acaciabluebell. I think those tests could give your GP an indication of whether you have PCOS. How long will results take? Mine were a week after I had the blood taken.

If any of your levels are elevated, they'll take more blood at a different point of your cycle. So they took mine around ovulation (so they could tell me if I'd ovulated) then they did more on day 1 of my period (more sore than the first time round!).

acaciabluebell · 25/09/2020 09:51

Thanks @Tofu35! I was told that if there was nothing wrong then I wouldn't hear back, but the GP called to book follow up consultation with me next week Thursday. So I think they found something off with my results, but it was a pretty extensive blood test (vitamins, iron, hormones, glucose, liver, thyroid etc) so no idea if it's actually related to hormones/PCOS.

In your case, were the follow up bloods taken to diagnose PCOS or were they for fertility checks? I'm just wondering if they do diagnose PCOS, will they actually do anything or just tell me to wait until I've been TTC for a year... I don't even think I mentioned to my GP that I was TTC... Oops

Tofu35 · 25/09/2020 12:44

@acaciabluebell I'm in Scotland, so please don't take this as a standard fact (maybe GP practice differs where you are). After the year of TTC I had the hormone panel done (so fertility rather than PCOS specific) and after a week I arranged a telephone appt with the gp for a chat through what they found. They said no sign of PCOS, and it looked like I had ovulated. They mentioned that one of my levels was within the expected range but was a little high, so I had to book in for more tests at the start of my cycle. Again, once they were analysed, I called the GP to talk through results (all fine).

Hope that helps :) remember any appointment you go to, or any test you get will take you one step closer to understanding fertility and take you closer to the goal Flowers

DressyGerbera · 25/09/2020 23:49

Hi All! I am very new to TTC and to mumsnet. We have just started and I have started taking folic acid supplement. I am 33 so a part of me is concerned that I have left this late :( what can we do to increase our chances? Have been doing so much reading the past few days and have been feeling stressed too.

Tofu35 · 26/09/2020 13:15

Hey @DressyGerbera, welcome! I don't think there's a secret formula to ensure quick pregnancy (if there was, this would be a very empty forum 😅). But some of the most common things people here say include: having regular sex (once every 2-3 days) and more during your fertile window. Some of us 'temp' (using BBT like fertility friend or natural cycles), other people use ovulation prediction kits (OPK) or track cervical mucus. Others again use semen friendly lubricants like preseed in their fertile window to boost chances. Lots of different things to do but find things that work for you, don't feel like you need to do everything there.

Some posters are only on these conception threads for a month or two and then find they get pregnant quickly, others among us have been trying for a while. In this subforum you've found a group who are all feeling the same way, so definitely use it to chat about this weird time of your life Flowers

DressyGerbera · 26/09/2020 20:53

Thank you @Tofu35 for your kind words and advice! Yes it is definitely (I feel) an odd chapter in our lives, I also don't feel comfortable discussing this with friends so it is really comforting to be part of a group like this Smile I will check out the apps as that's one thing which I haven't done much research on. My cycle isn't very regular as well so I am trying to keep track of it as best as I can.

DressyGerbera · 26/09/2020 20:57

Also Tofu35 - thank you for explaining some of the acronyms! I was struggling for a bit initially!

Tofu35 · 26/09/2020 22:31

Haha yea it's definitely it's own language! @dressygerbera

Daffodil21 · 30/09/2020 07:29

Ladies.

I'm sorry for my meltdown the other day 😂

I'm back, because I'm shitting myself a little. I got this on a CB early detection this morning... I know I should take it with a pinch of salt atm but there is a line there, right???!

CEW19 · 30/09/2020 09:26

@Daffodil21 there is a line, definitely. know your cycles are a little all over the place, but any idea how many dpo you are?

no need to apologise for the meltdown, we've all been there! I had to resist crying on the phone yesterday when one of my oldest friends phoned me to tell me she's pregnant (she doesn't know we're trying)

acaciabluebell · 30/09/2020 10:11

@Daffodil21 definitely see a line!!!! 😁

Daffodil21 · 30/09/2020 10:20

@CEW19 ohh ❤️ you did well not to cry! That must have been hard!!

I think I'm either 11 or 12dpo, but obviously I don't know for sure. I'm going to take a digital in the morning but it may still be too early for that. The test I took was a CB ultra early one with 10mlu sensitivity, and the digis are at least 25mlU.

@acaciabluebell I definitely see a line but I've read lots recently about these test being unreliable. I guess I'm in limbo until either ran positive digi or AF arrives.

I did have a suspicion this month, but then I think I have symptoms every month 😂 time will tell!

How is everyone else?

OP posts:
Tofu35 · 30/09/2020 10:45

Oh wow! My fingers and toes are crossed for this line appearing on the digital one (whenever you decide to take it!) @Daffodil21 Flowers.

my cycle this month is a bit messed up, I had a cold for a few days in the FW/TWW, so my temp was all over the place. Basically, I did OPKs so I know when I ovulated, but my NC app has put ovulation almost a week later because of the weird temp readings.

Currently 12DPO (if the pee sticks are correct), so maybe test on friday? 🤷🏻‍♀️

DressyGerbera · 30/09/2020 11:48

@Daffodil21 I'm new to this forums but fingers crossed for you!!

Bam27 · 01/10/2020 07:42

Hi everyone! So I'm back 😂 I did manage to take a break form ttc thought, I even went on holiday and didn't do OPKs! It was nice not being consumed for a little while. AF arrived today and although weren't trying this month, I'm still disappointed! Almost a year of trying now 😕 I hope your all well 💕
@Daffodil21 omg! Keeping everything crossed for you! X

Daffodil21 · 01/10/2020 08:42
