@Monday55 so sorry about your MMC. I had one before my son. Good luck this cycle!

BabyH88 · 11/08/2020 16:16

Hello ladies,

Wondering if I can join please, cycle 2 TTC just going into my FW.

This will be our last month then we will have to stop as we are getting married next year. Postponed due to Covid 🙄

I got it completely wrong last month and dates were all over the place so just going to DTD as much as possible to cover all dates 😂

Hope everyone is well x

beckyBP · 11/08/2020 17:27

@Shinea I think that means you ovulate today! Get DTD! X

beckyBP · 11/08/2020 17:30

Hey @BabyH88 I was EXACTLY the same. 2nd month TTC and last month just freestyled. This month I'm doing vitamins and OPKs and I was was off on my predicted ovulation last month!

BabyH88 · 11/08/2020 18:01

@beckyBP I am doing vitamins and dtd every other day I can't wrap my head around OPKs esp for one month I need to do some reading on it first lol.

OMG I got it soooo wrong I thought AF was due on the 1st August but it arrived 28/29 which threw off the dates I thought I was ovulating and we hadn't DTD 🙄

Thanks so much for messaging back I have been in a couple of other groups where clicks have happened and my messages have been ignored really appreciate it x

beckyBP · 11/08/2020 19:26

@BabyH88 totally get you. I started OPKs this month and it blew my mind. I'm glad I have now though as my flo prediction was nearly a week out so I had it wrong.

You should be ok if you DTD every other day as I think sperm can live for a while.

Omg of course. I know what you mean with the clicks. It's frustrating. Xx

BabyH88 · 11/08/2020 20:19

@beckyBP when is your FW? Do you test before AF arrives or are you patient and wait it out?

somanystars · 11/08/2020 20:36

@Kg87 I found a big pack of Clearblue Digital Advanced OPKs going out of date in Superdrug for £2, so I did those this month! Don't think I'd shell out the £47 for them again but it was good while it lasted. My cycle is 27/28 days and it said to start on CD7, so I started testing on CD5 because I'm impatient like that 🤣 Got my first high reading on CD10 and my peak on CD17 😊

They're nice and easy to read but now I've more or less confirmed my suspicions about ovulating a little later than expected around CD17/18 (I counted the day of my peak as the day of ovulation this cycle because I tested early in the morning and I'd started getting sensitive nipples the night before which I'm sure is an ov sign for me), I'll probably just use cheapies in future cycles to make sure that doesn't change too much.

Monday55 · 11/08/2020 20:49

@Beaglemum93 Thank you. how long after your MMC did you conceive your son?

I'd really love to be pregnant by Xmas, but we will see.

Kg87 · 11/08/2020 20:59

@somanystars

Ahh £2 that’s amazing!! How many were in the pack?

I got the pack of 10 as I’d run out of cheapies, I didn’t start on the right day as it was all I had at home and I was scared I’d miss it, I had 9 flashing smileys and was giving up hope and ran out of those then I did a cheap one and got my positive 🥳 I completely agree with you, I think I’ll probably just use the cheap ones again now I’ve worked out I just have a short surge and it seems to be in the middle of the day so I’d probably miss it anyway if I used the CB ones again!

I’m so impatient too, I just keep staring at the calendar wishing the days away 😂 I think I’ll probably test on 23rd, I’ve got a first response test in the cupboard I might have to ask my husband to take it to work so I don’t use it sooner 😂

beckyBP · 11/08/2020 21:25

@BabyH88 ovulation was yesterday!! What about you?

Well last month I was 2 days late which was weird for me so I tested on the 2nd day and then came on in the arvo 😠 how about you?

Moandy · 11/08/2020 21:27

TTC #2 with irregular periods. Clearblue advanced sticks worked well the first time, so will try again! #1 took 6 months, have a feeling this time will be longer. Good luck ladies.

somanystars · 11/08/2020 21:53

@Kg87 It was a pack of 20!! Couldn't believe my luck, actually took it up to the counter and was like "why are these so heavily discounted??" haha. They expired on 31/07 or so, but for £2 I thought I might as well just get them anyway.

Haha oh I haven't dared buy a First Response yet, I'd be tearing it open about 5DPO 🤣 Got some cheapie strips at the ready for when the urge takes me! I know you're not meant to test early but I know for a fact that I will be 😅

BabyH88 · 11/08/2020 21:56

@beckyBP oh no that's so frustrating our bodies play so many tricks on us. If I'm honest I have no idea what day it will ovulate one app says 15th but the other says a couple of days after I think I ovulate earlier esp as AF came a lot sooner last month.

If we were TTC again next month I would try OPKS but we're not. Will defo go for fertility testing privately as waiting another year worries me.

Do you mind me asking how old you are?

3andout · 11/08/2020 21:59

Hi all,

Fingers crossed this is everyone's month!

I'm on cycle 2 of ttc dc3. Af due on the 24th tww starts tomorrow!

Beaglemum93 · 11/08/2020 22:17

@Monday55 it took 6 months but I had retained products for 16 weeks after the D&C and had a chemical pregnancy the cycle before my son.

@Kg87 I had to get my husband to hide my pregnancy tests when we were ttc last time, I'll probably have to do the same again even though I'm being "relaxed" about it this time!

beckyBP · 11/08/2020 22:22

@BabyH88 it's all so confusing isn't it. Yeah I'd definitely recommend OPKs. You could even take them next month (if AF arrives) just to figure out your cycle. Flo was off for me. Femometer was almost and I think ovia was bang on.

I'm 29. How about you?

Frustratingly, I ovulated yesterday.. we didn't DTD because I bloody fell asleep before he came to bed and tonight he's in a foul mood which has put me in a mood so we don't be DTD tonight either 😠 I'm in even MORE of a mood now!

Soz for the rant.

BabyH88 · 11/08/2020 22:34

@beckyBP yea that's a good idea I am using clue and Ovia. Tbh I could have used them this month but my Nan passed away and I wasn't in the frame of mind to think about it.

I am 32 which means if we don't conceive this month and start trying after the wedding and are successful I will be 34 having baby number one and that scares me a lot because there's no guarantee it will happen then either, so stressful.

Oh no that is so frustrating, does he know you're tracking and that it's important to DTD as the window is so small? I think it is difficult to get it across to the other half hence why we failed so badly last month neither of us had a clue lol.

Rant away that's what this is about, can you not switch the mood up before the night is lost?

How is it we are taught all of our lives how to prevent pregnancy but never taught how stressful/difficult it can be?

beckyBP · 11/08/2020 22:40

@BabyH88 oh gosh so sorry to hear about your nan. Of course that will have changed things for you.

Totally get you! I worry but plenty of people do have babies at 34 and later so try not to worry yourself too much. We haven't set another date for our wedding just yet. Secretly, I'm totally over it!

He does know, he asks when I'm ovulating all the time but I don't think he fully gets it.. to be fair I'm still learning and it's bloody overwhelming! I'll see what mood he comes to bed in.

You're so right! I honestly thought we'd be pregnant month one. How naive of me!

BabyH88 · 11/08/2020 23:04

@beckyBP I know what you mean I just want to be married now, don't want to wait not bothered about the rest of it.

Do you think you will go for next year or 2022?

🤞🏻 you get to dtd during your FW.

My partner is loving the every other day rule lol even in this heat 😂

Kg87 · 12/08/2020 08:26

@3andout! Hiya!! Looks like we’re all in a similar position!

@Moandy that’s great the CB ones worked for you! I can’t decide if constant flashing smileys or negative cheap OPK is worse so I’m not sure which to use next time, fingers crossed we won’t have to!

@Beaglemum93 @somanystars yeah I’ve got some cheap ones that I might use earlier than planned if I struggle to contain myself (Likely) but I’ll save the FR one I think. Also that’s so good that you got them that cheap!! I’m going to be on the look out now haha.

How is everyone finding DTD in this heat??

@BabyH88 That’s great he’s loving it, my husband was a mess in the heat 😂 but we both didn’t want to risk missing it this month

3andout · 12/08/2020 09:00

@babyH88, try not to worry about age, I know the risks go up as you get into your mid 30's. But I had my first DD at 34 and my second at 37. I'll be 40 this month and going for a 3rd...

@Kg87 yay! It's nice to have a cycle buddy!

BabyH88 · 12/08/2020 09:15

@Kg87 I know the heat is a bloody killer we are lucky we have a ceiling fan in our bedroom that is on 24/7 lol

BabyH88 · 12/08/2020 09:16

@3andout Thank you it is really reassuring to hear from people who have been there as all you hear is the negative stories about getting too old or the chances being so slim. Did you conceive quickly with your first?

Pinkiii · 12/08/2020 09:29

@BabyH88 I wouldn’t worry about Age atm. I convieved my first at 32 pretty quickly and some of the people I met on NCT classes (probably about 4 out of 8) were 37+ and convieved with no problems and have all had healthy pregnancies and babies.

im ovulating today according to my app! Need my husband to get home from work😊
