Can I ask a really stupid question? I think I will ovulate in next 48 hours. Would you avoid sea swimming in that time? We are on holiday and I’m in the sea loads with the kids. Suddenly I am worried that I’m having a massive salt water douche every few hours and any swimmers waiting for ovulation might be rinsed our whole the general PH balance may also be impacted. Am I being paranoid?

@ShouldEyeShouldntEye Assuming (since you have kids!) you're dtd at night then I'd have thought the swimmers would have headed up into the uterus way before you go in the sea. I'd just keep enjoying your trip 😊x

Hey @ShouldEyeShouldntEye I'd like to say don't worry, but it's the kind of thing I'd think about too 🤔 I know douching isn't good as like you say, it can upset the bacteria/PH balance. The swimmers however should be way up in your tubes and I doubt water will penetrate the cervix.
Maybe though, weigh up any small risk and enjoy your time in the sea with your children... x

Hi all- popping back up again from thread 2 to say if anyone would like to join the grad group for BFPs over 35 'old ovaries new lines' then please do. There's only 5 of us so far so it's nice and cosy- most are due in April so far but it's nice to share the additional issues/worries that pregnancy over 35 unfortunately can bring. Will try and link thread.

I'm 8dpo but have short cycles and starting to feel cramps which is kind of depressing. Still AF due Thursday so at least I never have to wait that long to find out for sure 😬

@lastditchattempt20 glad everything is going well so far! Are you going to get an early scan? Or just wait a few weeks for the 12 week scan! It’s exciting. Hope lots more of us can join you over there soon!!

@LT103 I've had a few scans already for various reasons 🤦🏼‍♀️ private scan yesterday showed all as it should be and heard heartbeat ☺️ Still anxious though.

Acupuncture got cancelled as FIL was rushed into hospital and it was all a bit of a panic. He’s fine tho.
Rescheduled for Thurs, altho I’m a bit annoyed as that is around ov time and I wanted to get 2 sessions in before then. Ah well, so be it

Hi @Sleeeeeepy we must have ovulated the same time as I'm also 8dpo. I've been having some niggling cramps, dizziness and backache. I have 28 day cycle so AF not due for another 9 days. I can't remember if I had any early symptoms with my son. All I have done today is eat, can't satisfy my hunger!

@ShouldEyeShouldntEye it sounds like you've been on a bit of a rollercoaster, but your plans sound exciting!
@mouldygrapes I'm going to give acupuncture a try too, never had it before.

Question - if you have light spotting for a couple of days before AF would you count them as day 1&2? or start counting from when you're properly on? First couple of cycles I counted them as d1 and d2, the last one I decided to wait (so d1 was a couple of days after I started spotting). Doesn't affect me checking for ovulation but would affect my cycle length (from say 27 down to 25 days). Just interested as this cycle I spotted for a day, then spotted way less for a day, like barely anything.

Feels like such a schoolgirl question! Shouldn't we get told this stuff when we're 13?

@CurlyNo2 That sounds promising! If I had a longer cycle I'd take mine as good, but it's likely just the lead up to AF as I tend to have a good few days cramping beforehand. Boooooo

I was under the assumption that you count your first CD as the first day of bright red flow, so I never normally cound my spotting days as CD1 x

@LT103 @FridaKFangirl tbh it's like a sporting event all this DTD-Ing! 😈🤣 The bowl is a mustard colour (much nicer to look at than it sounds), hence my golden ovary bowl! 🤣

I worry I drink too much water... I've been testing every day on this FW, and the highest I've got is 0.7 and it still says that's low - most have been 0.1 or 0! 🤦🏻‍♀️ We've been DTD every day though, so we don't miss it... but does anyway else get low/zero scores on these OPKs?!

@M4v3r1ck I got lows my whole “FW” then got my peak 8 days late so keep testing. My opk dropped today so think will ovulate today. To be fair neither of us are into it this month. Managed Friday and yesterday so that will need to do 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Although I just ordered a crate of nice wines....wait and see, this will be the month we get pregnant and I won’t be able to drink Them 🤣
