Hi!

I am about to start trying for baby number 2, my DD is 2 and it finally feels like the right time. I’m 30 and luckily got pregnant with DD very quickly, hoping for the same luck this time round. I’m excited to give my little one a sibling but also nervous about the sleepless nights again and the thought of juggling 2 little ones!

Anyone else about to start trying for baby number 2?

Hi Amelia891
I've started trying for no. 2 this month. My little boy is 21 months. It took us a couple of years to get him so I'm hoping it will be quicker this time 🤞good luck to you 😊

Amelia891 · 27/07/2020 07:54

Hi @Aharries89 lovely to hear from you! Fingers crossed for you too 🤞🏼 Have you been using opks or just being casual about it so far?

Hi we've been trying for number 2 since March, although only properly since May/June because my cycles weren't properly returned because I'm breastfeeding. It's starting to get me a bit down now x

Aharries89 · 02/08/2020 20:30

@Amelia891 I have used opks but only seemed to get negative results. I will try again this month though. Xx

Hi @fattymumbum.. I'm sure it will happen for you soon especially now your cycles are returning too normal. The waiting every month is just so hard though. Xx

ThinnerByDinner · 02/08/2020 20:41

Trying to conceive number 2 here too. Think we’re on cycle 4 this month. I have a 2.5 year old daughter, she’s our rainbow baby. I fell pregnant fairly quick 1st time round which ended up in miscarriage then took 6 months to conceive my daughter. Anticipating this will take a bit of time too. Trying OPKs for the first time this month, have absolutely no idea what I’m doing 😂. Good luck to you all x

glowingtwig · 02/08/2020 21:17

@ThinnerByDinner your ttc journey is exactly like mine except my dd is only 9 months.

Trying for number two now to try and be pregnant by the time I turn 40... 11dpo on cycle 2 (first cycle of enthusiastic trying though Grin). But very nervous about feeling a bit older than when we were last ttc... that was nearly two years ago now.

Good luck everyone!

glowingtwig · 02/08/2020 21:17

When we last, first started ttc I mean ❤️

mummabubs · 02/08/2020 21:28

Cycle 1 of TTC#2 (apart from a brief 5 month stint of trying last year in which we had no luck). We conceived DS (nearly 3 now) on the first cycle of trying so I found last years attempt rather deflating. I'm currently 2 days late for my period and have been having cramps for 3 days on and off but still no AF. Pregnancy test today was negative but then it took longer to get a positive result with DS. I'm mostly confident that AF will show up soon but I can't help but hope! 🤦🏻‍♀️

mummabubs · 02/08/2020 21:31

Also meant to add that I'm not tracking ovulation. I did that last year (didn't with DS) and it just added pressure and stress so decided this year to go back to the NHS recommendation of just DTD every 2-3 days throughout. Fingers crossed everyone! X

LemonLime89 · 02/08/2020 21:35

I have a 20 month DD and we are in 1st month etc. Baby no2. I took my coil out mid july and just trying to take it easy with ttc, although now we have startedni have realise now how much I want this. DD was our rainbow after stillborn at 27 weeks but quick enough to conceive, so hoping all goes smoothly this time.
Excited to be in this journey again.

florafoxtrot · 03/08/2020 15:45

Hi ladies,
Hope OK to join? We've been TTC no2 since February with no luck. DD was a bit of a miracle after 18 months TTC and a cancelled IUI cycle due to overstimulation. I was really fortunate to have a good pregnancy and breastfed for 16 months so had hoped that might sort out my hormones a bit but nothing so far. In the final stages of the TWW at the moment and struggling to focus on anything else which isn't great, not a lot of distractions at the moment either with this strange world we live in.

FlorenceO · 03/08/2020 16:13

Hello I’ll be following this thread - trying for baby no1 - fertile window somewhere between 12-16 of August! 😊

emla91 · 03/08/2020 16:36

Hello 😊 I am going into cycle 4 of trying for number 2. Conceived my son quickly having some issues this time. My periods are about 37/38 days for some reason when they used to be 30 days. I have been using opks and having sex every 2-3 days most of the cycle but no luck so far unfortunately 👎🏻

Beaglemum93 · 03/08/2020 16:49

Just about to start ttc no.2. I have an almost 8 month old DS. I had two miscarriages before having him so I'm a bit anxious about trying again. My cycles have been all over the place since having him so I reckon it will take a while this time but I've only had one cycle since stopping breastfeeding so who knows. Hope this will be a lucky thread for us all!

Amelia891 · 03/08/2020 17:37

Hi all! Great to have so many people on board!

So sorry to hear about your stillbirth @LemonLime89 and for those that have had miscarriages. My DD was a twin but we lost one at around 9 weeks. It’s definitely made me feel more anxious this time round but fingers crossed this will be a lucky thread as @Beaglemum93 said! Smile

@emla91 my cycles are totally different this time too, I’ve gone from 33 days to 27.

@mummabubs good luck! Fingers crossed for you.

I’m not using opks yet (although I have bought some) but I am cycle tracking on an app.

emla91 · 03/08/2020 17:43

@Beaglemum93 I also had an early miscarriage before my son and one 2 months ago. Ever since the one 2 months ago me periods are more than a week longer (not sure why).

@Amelia891 I have not been getting positive opks until CD 24 when I used to get them at 16! I think I'm ovulating because I have terrible ovulation pain every month. I did get a scan and I have mild endometriosis hoping it doesn't get worse and affect my chances.

MissMini · 03/08/2020 23:43

Hi guys, hope you don’t mind me joining. I’m in first month of ttc baby no. 2. DS came along pretty quickly but I’m more worried about my age this time - 34. Hope this is a lucky thread for everyone.

mummabubs · 04/08/2020 07:14

Well count me confused. Still no period but a FR test was still negative this morning, and I was under the understanding that they're the most sensitive test on the market. I'm going to try and wait another 48 hours before testing again (whilst cursing my body for either keeping me in limbo or leading me on... Or both!) 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

Amelia891 · 06/08/2020 09:35

Hi all, hope everyone is having a good week. @mummabubs did you test again?
Hi @MissMini Smile of course very welcome to join. How is everyone?

I’m having a wobble about trying this month and am thinking about possibly waiting until Sep, I have a family holiday booked mid Sep and if I am lucky enough to get pregnant in August I will be about 4 weeks pregnant when we go away. I feel like that’s too early to tell people (even though it’s close family) and they will notice that I’m not drinking. I also might feel rough. DH thinks we should try this month anyway as it might not happen first time (although it did with DD!)

Also if we do wait then fertile window is whilst we are on holiday so we will have to be sneaky about finding opportunity to DTD 🙄 What would you do? x

glowingtwig · 06/08/2020 09:56

Morning ladies! A day late so tested this morning and BFP!! Feeling a bit in shock and worried about the line as it's a CB early but still... just have to wait and see I guess.

Anyone had a line like this at 15 DPO on an early that went on to have a healthy pregnancy? X

TTC number 2- August
mummabubs · 06/08/2020 09:59

@amelia891 I'd be inclined to see how you feel at the time, that way there's less pressure on you? If you're in the mood for some sneaky dtd then go for it and if not know that there's always another month? We've always said we'd not try in March as neither of us are keen on Christmas birth dates (only as so many of DH's family have birthdays then so it's an extra expensive time of year already!!)

Still no period, but still negative tests. This morning after taking another frer I've noticed the return of cramps so I'm anticipating either a very late period or a chemical pregnancy. (I had a faint positive on a tesco test a couple of days ago but I've learnt that they're notorious for false positives... I've had a negative frer since).

mummabubs · 06/08/2020 10:00

Congratulations @glowingtwig! Looks good to me! Grin

Amelia891 · 06/08/2020 10:01

Congrats @glowingtwig !! That looks like a nice strong line to me!

OP posts:
MissMini · 06/08/2020 15:42

@Amelia891 that’s a tough one, you just need to do what’s right for you? Would your family call you out on not drinking?

@glowingtwig congratulations! The line looks strong I had a BFP on same test with DS at what I thought was 11DPO all went fine. I didn’t realise but have seen on a few threads people saying about clearblues - what’s up with them? I’ve bought some to use as a test this month but wondering if I order some others?

@mummabubs :( that must be so frustrating, keeping everything crossed it’s good news.

mummabubs · 06/08/2020 15:51

Thanks @MissMini. I'm accepting that it seems unlikely for me but it's not over til AF shows I suppose! My periods have never been 100% regular anyway so it makes trying to estimate timings quite tricky!🤦🏻‍♀️
