Hi all
Just started TTC number two while still feeding 13 month old. Couldn't see a recent thread for others in same boat so wondered if anyone else wanted to chat along?
Had my first period pp only about 6 weeks ago then nothing since. Been using OPK just to start tracking again til my normal cycle returns, wasn't expecting anything interesting but had a real clear LH surge a few days ago and had been DTD so who knows, o guess I am in TWW now? Even a second period would be handy at this stage so I can get some more info about where my body is at!

To paraphrase Sir Elton John, I'm still squinting although finally seem to be fading away, hopefully a fresh cycle is in site...however my mum tum area seems to be padded out more than it has been for ages and my sense of smell would rival any sniffer dog at the mo!
Hope our ladies with BFPs are all feeling good and those who are still working on it are ok too x

Sight! Argh

All good over here so far @Heyha hope you're doing ok?

Heyha · 09/08/2020 11:16

Just typed a long reply and lost it 🤦 basically I feel fine and CM is changing so cracked out the POAS on second MU ready for ovulation, but got this squinter same as I've been having for a week or more (better pic on the invert). Bear in mind I'm CD15 (OR 19/20dpo according to OPK) if we assume the spotting I had 5-9dpo was a light period after all.
Something is still in there secreting a teeny bit of HCG, I think 🤷‍♀️

Ps I know it's proper squinty but it's the same level of squinty...I thought it would have disappeared even from line-eye view by now!

Heyha · 09/08/2020 12:51

Ok looking at the pic I can't see anything myself now 🤷‍♀️

Hi ladies, just catching up on here, congratulations to those with bfps! I got mine last week to! Question for you who have got yours.... how sre your boobs feeling? With my daughter they were on fire and I jad to wear sports bras to help, this time a dull ache every now and again but mainly nothing. It's stressing me out as I was the same with my mmc, but I'm hoping its because I'm still feeding rather than something not being quite right!

Fleeflyyflooo · 09/08/2020 20:47

Congratulations @workingmama1!

Tbh my boobs haven't changed. But they never did when I was pregnant with DD. They are pretty desensitised by now haha no soreness at all.

Kinsters · 10/08/2020 08:33

Hi everyone! My little girl is 7 months old and we've started kind of TTC, maybe not trying/not preventing is more accurate. She's still breastfeeding a lot through the day and once or twice overnight however my period returned ages ago and I'm pretty sure I'm ovulating. Hopefully that's enough to conceive! It took us 9 months of trying first time so I want to start sooner rather than later.

Good luck to all of you!

glowingtwig · 10/08/2020 09:31

So frustrating @Heyha I can see a squinty squinter still. How are you feeling generally?

@Workingmama1 my boobs were so sore with DD but were with my early mc two years ago too. This time, no soreness at all and my non-scientific conclusion is that a lot of the changes have taken place and so maybe that's why they aren't sore this time?

I'm finding myself getting a bit anxious about how much I'm picking up and hefting DD about... with my pregnancy with her I was so careful- probably too careful. I've no choice but to get on with it this time. Plus she's wriggling about and leaning on my tummy with her sharp elbows. Makes me 😬

Good luck @Kinsters took us 6 months and this time round second cycle but first of 'proper' trying! 😁

Not counting my chickens yet as previous mc tends to steal the joy a bit but a little bit excited now.

glowingtwig · 10/08/2020 09:33

@Workingmama1 just realised that the boob soreness and mc but might have been a bit yikes. What I meant was both first pregnancies were like that with sore boobies but this second one is just so different. I had some breakthrough spotting with both my 'first' pregnancies too but nothing yet with this one.

Heyha · 10/08/2020 09:44

Nice one @Workingmama1 congrats! And welcome @Kinsters

I feel ok @glowingtwig thanks, tired (teething baby), stretchy/achey in the tum (PMS?), sniffer dog nose still (?). So mystified! Looked at the CB digital yesterday and it says to wait til 19 days past BD before using so I might get one of them in the hope it gives me a definitive answer. If I'm still in a muddle at the end of this week I'll maybe speak to my doctor next week but I'm quite happy reconciled that I'm just waiting for AF to come to have another go next cycle. Plus with baby being at nursery during the day now hopefully hormones will start finding their new normal when we're only feeding at night! Hope you're still ticking along nicely 😊

Thank you @glowingtwig and @Heyha, it was awful but I'm a firm believer that things happen when the time is right. I just hope my right time is soon as I'm getting impatient lol.

@Heyha hope you get some answers one way or another.

Congratulations @Workingmama1, I think when you're BFing you have to change your expectations for pregnancy symptoms so don't assume anything is wrong if it feels different this time 😘

X

Heyha · 12/08/2020 08:13

Hey girls hope we're all ok. Just an update here, getting mid-cycle CM and almost nothing on an FRER today, minor symptoms all gone too. However I have a theory- I wonder if the OPK that I thought picked up a surge was actually picking up HCG as I had symptoms really early for two or three days not long after. So the little bleed I had at what I thought was 5-9dpo was actually the end of a chemical and I am actually mid-cycle now and not waiting for AF 🤷‍♀️ either way will be BD again soon and hoping for a normal cycle if not a BFP at the end of the month! There's deffo no HCG left now anyway so my worry about something still lurking about has gone (almost)!

Kinsters · 12/08/2020 10:02

Heyha hope you figure out where you are soon!

Everything is so confusing post pregnancy! My cycle is just crazy. Five day luteal phase is now the norm. At least cycles are short so I can try again soon 🤞🤞

If my daughter ever sleeps through the night I'll start temping again, don't think that will be for a while though!

Workingmama1 · 12/08/2020 13:27

Hope everyone is doing ok! After saying my boobs weren't sore, for the last 2 days my nipples have been really sore, it feels like the newborn stage when I'm feeding my daughter, ouch 😄

@Heyha I hope you can work out where you are in your cycle soon, are you still using opks? If it was a chemical sometimes it can take a while after tests going negative for AF to come back i think.

Kinsters · 13/08/2020 04:58

Workingmama1 😬 I don't miss newborn breastfeeding at all!! With my daughter I used nipple shields from five days old to about five months. I was quite surprised that when she finally gave them up there was no tenderness. Wonder if it's mostly a hormonal thing.

Heyha · 15/08/2020 13:08

How are we all? I'm going into TWW this weekend judging by OPKs and CM so fingers crossed for a BFP and, failing that, just a plain ol' normal cycle 😂
I think I got most of the TTC acronyms in there?

glowingtwig · 15/08/2020 22:02

Haha @Heyha you have! Good luck... 🤞🏼 for you. Doing ok over here x

glowingtwig · 19/08/2020 18:57

Hi ladies... six weeks today and just had some spotting Sad Exactly like how my first mc was... but a week later so because I'd passed that danger point I thought it might be ok.
Really hope it will be ok but have a bad feeling about it and actually, I'm not hopeful.
I haven't even spoken to GP yet as I wanted to wait til 6 weeks and today just ran away with me.

I'll be so sad if I'm losing it... I thought it was all going a bit too easy and well. X

Clairey844 · 19/08/2020 19:33

Hey @glowingtwig really hoping the spotting is nothing sinister. I know that they say brown blood is less to worry about than red.
I would guess at this stage you could contact the EPU and ask for their advice, they may offer you an early scan. See whether the spotting continues and maybe call tomorrow.
Wish I could offer some comfort but I know if it was me I would just be googling and driving myself mad no matter what people say. Keep us updated, really got my fingers crossed for you xxx

Heyha · 19/08/2020 20:04

Oh @glowingtwig I really hope it's not bad news ☹️

OP posts:
Workingmama1 · 19/08/2020 20:04

Oh @glowingtwig so sorry to hear that, i know seeing blood can be really scary. I'm 7 weeks tomorrow and still checking everytime i wipe. If it's just spotting it doesn't automatically mean bad news, but it can be hard to stop your mind going there. At 6 weeks your epu might be able to scan you so you can understand what is going on. Good luck x

glowingtwig · 19/08/2020 21:22

Thanks for your kind words ladies. It's the tiniest bit of pinky-brown when I wipe (sorry tmi) and I really washed my hands and checked cervix position and it's still really high and soft. (Prob should leave it all alone but it's too hard not to look for clues).
I might do another test in the morning see what's going on with the line. Unless it's obvious it's over by then.
I haven't even called my GP yet as I was waiting for 6 weeks then got really busy today so thought I would tomorrow. Maybe she can get me a scan at the epu... I know from last time I can't self-refer where we live.
Oh we want this new little one so much. And I was really taken with the small age gap. Also worried about my egg quality given my age Sad

Workingmama1 · 19/08/2020 21:35

@glowingtwig they can refer you even if you've not registered with them or the midwife. I had an ectopic scare last week with one sided pain, rang the epu who said I needed to speak to a gp who then got my referred back to the epu for a scan. Luckily we could see it wasnt ectopic but too early for a heartbeat or anything so have to go back next for a follow up.
