Please help! Ovulation... 8 days of flashing smilies and have just done an OPK

Hello,

I'm trying to conceive and on my 2nd cycle. First time using clear blue ovulation sticks where you get your 4 (or more) fertile days flashing smiley faces and then you get your solid smiley. I've had 8 days of flashing smileys and it's driving me insane. It puts me in the worst mood at the beginning of the day as I just don't know why it's taking so long!

I then have some a cheap OPK and got 2 lines, one of slightly fainter than the test line, but what do people think? Am I ovulating or is ovulation coming up? Someone please give me some advise, I feel so alone at the moment with these constant flashy smiley faces! X

Looks like you’ll reach peak soon - keep testing! I did cheapies twice a day when they looked like that so I didn’t miss the peak. You should ovulate 12-36 hours after the peak/static smiley

Download femometer you can scan the LH sticks and they will give you a reading of if you low high or at peak

It's not quite a peak but looks imminent. If that was mine I'd know the peak would come the same day, but am not sure it works that way for all. Test again around 7/8pm?

If you test tomorrow and it's gone faint again I'd assume your peak was today and track accordingly.

I had 9 days of flashing this month - so infuriating. I assumed it wasn't going to happen. Try testing in the evening as well. Hopefully you'll get it soon. Definitely worth only dtd every other day while flashing so that you don't exhaust yourself when your solid comes

Thank you for all of your replies! I can't believe it, I've just got home from work and tested again using CB and got my static smiley!! So me and my partner will BD tonight, and tomorrow night (can't do Friday night as he's busy!) we also BD on Sunday and Monday evening, so I really hope this will cover it! Thank you so much girls! That’s plenty @Pickle1991! I’m testing for the second month, this month. Using CB as well as internet cheapies. I’ve found as soon as there is a line on the internet cheapies, it gets stronger quickly enough and a good idea to keep testing. Pic attached.

I peaked yesterday so we are on similar timelines.....as we head into the dreaded TWW!

@Bouncytree I hope it's enough! I can't believe I've actually peaked as have been driving myself mad with the flashing smileys and the constant googling!

That's exciting that you've peaked too! How often do you try to BD once you've got your static? Send baby dust to you too! And then the dreaded tww! I'm going on holiday for a week next week so I'm hoping that'll keep my mind occupied! Xx

Good luck @Pickle1991! I'd BD today and tomorrow. You could go for Friday as well for luck but today and tomorrow will be key.

It's tempting to BD multiple times a day but I think that's not necessarily productive - plus it's exhausting

@RMarieClaire it definitely does get exhausting! Tonight and tomorrow will be the nights for us and then we can have a rest lol

Oh jez it certainly is exhausting! I always think it’s kind a like the gym, you don’t always feel like it but know you will enjoy it when your there! And your a bit sore and tired afterwards 😆😆

The peak in LH means you will ovulate in 24-36 hours.The days just before ovulation are most important for BD as it gives the sperm time to swim up the Fallopian tubes and be there to meet the egg. Give the little swimmers time to do their job 🏊‍♂️ 🤣

Great, so hopefully Sunday and Monday when we BD should maybe have helped, and tonight and tomorrow! I don't want to keep on making my partner do it too much as I think he feels the pressure of it!

Every 2nd day is the general advice, but everyday even better.

I think you have to think of the long game too....as in it may take a while even if your both healthy and fertile. How long can you sustain the levels for! ? 🤣

We BD Mon, Tues, peaked last night, so I likely ovulated today. I prob should for insurance...but can’t face another BD tonight! I have a toddler, I need sleep not sex! 🤣

Attached is a graph (Via clear blue) with likelihood of conception, related to when you ovulate. Day of LH and day of ovulation highest percentage...though the timing of the ovulation is the tricky bit!

@Bouncytree ahhh fingers crossed for you! How long have you been TTC?

We BD last night and I'll try again tonight, not sure if we will be able to as my partner has a bad back! So if we don't manage to then I hope we've covered it by doing it last night!

I had 8 days of flashing smiley too! Started thinking I'd missed it and was gonna stop testing after the last one anyway which turned out to be solid. Wonder if its a good thing or bad. It definitely meant we DTD alot more!

@Nottherealslimshady it's so annoying isn't it and just makes you feel like you're never going to get the solid smiley! Glad you finally got yours too! Are you in your tww now?

@Pickle1991 Yeah it's so frustrating, there's so much uncertainty in the whole process of ttc

I'm 7dpo, loads of symptoms (did last month though too), we DTD every other day throughout my whole massive high fertility period so I'm not so quietly confident.

This is my 8th day of flashing smiley face, and I felt a little bit calmer after reading this topic, mu CB sticks are over and now I’m considering to buy another box, or the cheap ones. My AF is supposed to come 7/25 so, I don’t see a lot of chances of ovulating right now, but I still have that little sparkle of hope.

@Rockabye3 I'm glad you feel a bit calmer after reading this post! It seems like a lot of people get so many flashy smiley faces and they drive people nuts! If you have ran out then I would definitely recommend getting some of the cheap ones! I got my first static smiley yesterday and also did a cheap test (the first comment on this post has a pic of it) and I've just done another cheap test and the line is even darker than the test line, so I definitely think my peak has come so need to BD once I'm home from work!! I'll attach a pic

@Pickle1991 yes, this thing of conceiving is becoming quite stressful out here, so nice to have you guys to share the experiences and to feel like I’m not the only one. Did the cheap test now, the app says it a high result, not a peak. Let’s see again tomorrow

@Rockabye3....if it’s high your peak could be very soon, as in tonight. I would test again this evening and if rising in percentage it’s likely your are about to peak.

I went from 24 to 40 to 200 % in 5 hours.

@Bouncytree it was quite the opposite with me, tested again in the evening, from 14% went to 10% and this morning I am 7%, so definitely this cycle is kinda over and I didn’t had a peak, is this normal somehow?

@Rockabye3 do you think you may have missed your peak? Have you been BD?
