Hello,

I'm trying to conceive and on my 2nd cycle. First time using clear blue ovulation sticks where you get your 4 (or more) fertile days flashing smiley faces and then you get your solid smiley. I've had 8 days of flashing smileys and it's driving me insane. It puts me in the worst mood at the beginning of the day as I just don't know why it's taking so long!

I then have some a cheap OPK and got 2 lines, one of slightly fainter than the test line, but what do people think? Am I ovulating or is ovulation coming up? Someone please give me some advise, I feel so alone at the moment with these constant flashy smiley faces! X

@Pickle1991 Have no idea, started CB testing quite early, the 3 first days was that empty balls that appeared, then the flashing smiley faces came out, and since that I’ve been BD every other day until yesterday, also testing in the morning every day so, maybe my LH levels were too low for CB to indicate a peak...

Pickle1991 · 17/07/2020 08:56

@Rockabye3 yeah it could be that your levels are too long to actually show up, or you may have missed the surge but if you've been BD every other day then it should have covered it if you did miss it! I've also read forums where they've said that they never got a solid smile but still got their BFP so hopefully you are still in for a chance this cycle! I've got everything crossed for you! Smile I'm now day 1 for the tww!

@Rockabye3 oh that frustrating. That sounds like a peak on the way down. If your testing once a day it is possible to miss if it was super quick, it can last 12-24 hours. But It’s also possible to not ovulate in a given month, which is normal if it’s just every now and then, but you can still have an LH surge with this. Variation in when you ovulate is also normal. I’be just started using OPKs myself, but that’s the theory anyway.

Difficult to tell this month I’d say, I would increase testing around the predicated time next month and take a note of This peak so you can keep an eye out then also. It helps to get to know your cycle which can take a couple of cycles. I’ve bought a big box of 50 internet cheapies And a CB to figure it out and get to know my pattern. But I had decided when I would BD around my predicted date so I wouldn’t miss a cycle. It’s all a bit of a dark art at times!

@Pickle1991 this is baby #2 for me and we’re in cycle 4. Last 2 months Have been a bit of a right off, I had an early loss at 5 weeks - barely more than a CP but messed up my cycle And hormones...I actually thought I Had conceived last month, despite only doing it every 4 days and miss reading the OPK...I had such strong symptoms because of my hormones!

So glad to be back to a nice predicatable cycle this month. Trying to think of the long game now and resist driving myself crazy....but we will see. It’s very hard to not think, maybe it could be this month each time.

How about you both @Pickle1991 and @Rockabye3?

Pickle1991 · 17/07/2020 09:17

@Bouncytree I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I'm glad that you are back to your normal cycle. Hormones are a crazy thing aren't they, hope this month will be your month! It's so hard not to look for symptoms as well isn't it, just need to try and keep ourselves busy and wait, but that's definitely easier said than done!

I'm on my second cycle of ttc baby number 2, but this is the first time using OPK's and CB, so I think I missed ovulation on my 1st cycle of ttc. I'm hoping we might BD tonight but I think I might be pushing it 3 nights in a row so not sure if he will agree to it! We are going on holiday in a week so I hope that will help the tww go a bit quicker and take my mind off of it!

@Pickle1991 Yes, I still have this sparkle of hope due to the BD’s, now I’m just trying to keep myself busy and not to think about it, but this effort seems totally useless right now Grin my fingers are totally crossed for your tww Star! Keep us updated!

Rockabye3 · 17/07/2020 13:19

@Bouncytree it makes sense, maybe a really quick peak and I didn’t tested at the right time... we’ll see on the upcoming weeks...
I’m really sorry for your loss, I had one also, in December, and it quite a surprise since we were not ttc, so after this episode we decided to actually ttc. So this is my 6th cycle of ttc baby number 1, which terrifies me because I have no idea of how this process work or even how being pregnant feels so... quite difficult. I thought it was quite easier maybe...
